Archive for January, 2008

Things have come long way since the first person was ever hypnotized. We have learned so much more about hypnosis, patterns and the way our words affect suggestion and the way they affect the client.

This is the year 2008 and many of us are still using words that are causing hypnotist to shoot themselves in the foot. As we all know the media has really given hypnosis a bad rep over the years. While their are some good reports out there, certain movies and books have convinced people that what we do is magic or something from the occult. The average person tends to think we have “super powers” or some type of control over people. So it’s important that we stop using certain words that give people the wrong idea about what we do. I also promise that if you start to change your vocab you will notice a strong difference in the way your sessions go.

Hello Everyone

I have been getting a lot of e-mails asking is it possible to hypnotize people in a loud location. So I thought I would write a little article about how to work with clients in these situations.

First off, it is possible to perform hypnosis in a loud location and it’s done all the time. While the client and I might prefer a quiet location this isn’t always possible. The fact of the matter is that unless you have a sound proof booth their will always be some type of noise around. For instance, noises such as cars passing by, the A/C or heater coming on, People making noise outside, dogs barking and so much more.

Hey Everyone

To be honest I am feeling a little guilty. I ended up purchasing a recliner for my practice Southern Hypnosis, but spent more then I told everyone I would.

I ended up going to J.D. Kinders and really didn’t see anything I liked until I walked into the back room. As I walked into the back room I saw the perfect chair for my practice. It was a really nice recliner and boy was it comfortable.

The problem was that the price tag was a lot more then $150 and a lot more then $500.00. I will keep the actual cost to myself, but it was up their. I then remembered that I had a credit line at J.D. Kinder and started to think about my options.

I knew I needed a chair for my office, but I did want to stay within a certain price range. I also knew that whatever chair I bought I was more then likely going to replace once I got a little more money. This would mean spending even more money. The great thing about this chair is that it is perfect and I won’t have to replace it a few years from now. Plus, my credit line allows up to 12 months no interest. Within a few months the chair can pay for it’s self when I do sessions.

Hey Everyone

Sorry for the lack of post lately, but I’ve been putting out some fire within my real estate company. I got most of them put out, but still dealing with a situation or two.

I have also been really busy with setting up my future hypnosis practice Southern Hypnosis. So I’ve been working on setting up my office, working on business plans and similar business oriented things. I have also been studying a lot of stuff related to hypnosis still because education never stops with the field of hypnotism. The only way to get better is to continue to expand my knowledge and understanding of hypnosis. The great part about knowledge is just when you think you know enough you realize you don’t even know half.

I have also been working on finishing up the final details for SouthernHypnosis.com, which I hope will be done sometime in Feb or March. I’m taking my time to make sure all the bugs are worked out rather then throwing some half-done product out their. Credibility is everything to me and if it takes some extra time to make sure it’s ready then it’s worth it to me.
