Thanks for visiting my About Me page and since your visiting a page that’s all about me I’m sure you’ll want to know a little bit about who I am? That handsome gentlemen to the right is me and no I can’t tell you why I look so serious because I don’t know why I look so serious.
For those of you who don’t want to read this entire page let me sum it up for you in a few sentences. I’m 28 years old, I’m a Certified Consulting Hypnotist, Trainer, Husband, Son, Blogger, Entrepreneur, Dog Owner, Real Estate Investor & last but not least I’m a published author. So if that was enough information for you then you’re good to go, but if you want to learn a little bit more about me then I recommend you read the rest of this page below.
Who Is Joshua Houghton?
Well, my name is Joshua Houghton and as you can tell this is my Hypnosis blog. Obvious I won’t be able to give you my entire life story, but I can give you a little insight into who I am, where I was, where I’m going and where I am!
I’ve been involved in the world of Entrepreneurship, Business, Management and Marketing since the age of 18 when I started my first company which was a Real Estate Investment and Property Management Firm. Eventually, I went on to create and build a number of different companies ranging from a Promotion & Media Company, Automotive Performance & a number of different online businesses, many which I still have today and provide me a pretty decent income. The age of 18 is also when I first really started to take an interest in my current profession, Hypnosis.
It Was Time For A Change
I was always into Personal Development and Self Improvement and that led me to learn a little about Hypnosis. I noticed that a lot of the personal development guys knew hypnosis and applied it within their lives, which made me wonder about it. I used to also enjoy watching magicians when I was growing up, seeing them use Hypnosis, or at least what I thought was hypnosis at the time. All of this really sparked my interest, but due to a lot of personal stuff going on I never really spent the time to learn it.
Eventually, after starting to lose my love for real estate, which is a whole other story. I decided to jump ship in so many words. It took me a lot of soul searching and time, but eventually I came to discover that I needed a different change of pace…and Hypnosis was that change. During this time in my life Hypnosis seemed to be exactly what I needed in a career. I was looking for a career where I could help people, work for myself, use the skills and knowledge I currently processed to enhance my business and a great chance to make a good income doing something I enjoy and something I found to be tons of fun.
The Creation of Something Bigger Then Myself
So at the age of 21 I ended one journey and began another journey to become a professional Hypnotist and 7 years later I’ve come a long way if I do say so myself. During that time I sold a few of my online businesses to help me fund my new career and in the process I started this blog, Whatsonmybrain.com, which has since become the highest ranking and most popular Hypnosis blog on the internet according to Google

Whatsonmybrain.com is ranked #1 in Google for the keyword, Hypnosis Blog
In the beginning I created this blog to act as an online journal of my journey to become a full time Hypnotist and to serve as a resource/guide to others looking to make the move to become a Certified Hypnotist.
The funny thing was that the more I learned and grew the more my Hypnosis blog grew and took on a life of it’s own. Eventually I reached my goal and became a full time Hypnotist and that was a problem because my journey had ended, well at least the reason I created the blog in the first place.
So after some careful thought I decided to take this hypnosis blog a new direction and to transform this blog into free online resource for anyone looking to learn more about hypnosis or to enhance the skills and knowledge they already have in the field of Hypnotism.
I discovered I could help people through my experiences, good and bad and use my other skill in combination with hypnosis to help people become the best Hypnotists they can be. During my journey I also ended up spending thousands and thousands of dollars on training, good and bad so I have a unique insight into what products and trainings are worth your time, money and energy and which products are just crap.
Here Are Just A Few Of The Benefits Of Reading This Hypnosis Blog:
- Tips, Techniques and How To Articles to help take your hypnosis education to the next level
- A Hypnosis Newsletter featuring tips, insights and a lot of cool, free stuff to download.
- Articles from some of the biggest names in Hypnosis
- Product and Training Reviews designed to save you time, money and energy. Why focus on the bad stuff when you can focus on the good stuff. I’ve spent a lot of money learning how to tell the difference.
- Interviews & Seminars
- Business and Marketing Training for Hypnotists so you can enhance your Hypnosis Business or Practice and take it to the next level.
- Down to earth, real advice from a guy who has been where you are now and can help you get to where you want to be in this profession.
Those are just a few of the benefits and resources I’ve put together over the years, but the most important one which isn’t listed above is simple honesty from me. I live this business and have been doing it for some quite some time. I’ve seen good times and I’ve seen bad, I’ve made good decisions and I’ve made bad decisions, but at the end of the day you will always get the truth from me.
I learned a long time ago one of the fastest ways to achieve success is to learn from the mistakes of others and learn from those who are where you want to be. So I hope you use the resources here at Whatsonmybrain.com to better yourself and your hypnosis business.
Where I’m At Now In My Life
Starting this blog and the people I’ve helped from it is something I’m very proud of, but I’ve also done some other cool stuff during these last 7 years.
I’ve went on to start a successful full time Hypnosis and Consulting practice. I’ve been featured on television, radio and featured on websites such as The Transparent Hypnotist, Hypnosis Marketing Success and The Effective Hypnosis Newsletter featuring some of the best Hypnotists in the world.
I’m also the author of a number of different hypnosis products. The first one being a 5 disc Instant and Rapid Induction Home Study Course called Tranced Out, which was co created with my friend and fellow Hypnotist, Taylor Sherman. It’s been a wonderful journey so far and I look forward to continuing it with all of you. I hope this wasn’t too boring for all of you, but this is the About Me section so don’t blame me.
