Who I Am

Well, my name is Joshua Houghton and as you can tell this is my Hypnosis blog. So I guess I should tell you a little bit about me huh? Obvious I won’t be able to give you my whole life story, but I can give you all a little insight into who I am, where I was, where I’m going and where I Am!

So for those of you curious I’m currently 27 years old, married with no kids, but we do have one small mini Shetland Sheepdog named Keke who we recently bought after the loss of our older Shetland named Beawolf.  I currently live and operate my hypnosis businesses out of Columbus, Georgia which has been my home since 1989. For those of you wondering Columbus is about an hour from Atlanta.

I’ve been involved in the world of Entrepreneurship, Business, Management and Marketing since the age of 18 when I started my first company which was a Real Estate Investment and Property Management Firm. Eventually,  I went on to create and build a number of different companies ranging from a Promotion & Media Company, Automotive Performance & a number of different online businesses, many which I still have today and provide me a pretty decent income. The age of 18 is also when I first really started to take an interest in my current profession, Hypnosis.

It Was Time For A Change

I was always into Personal Development and Self Improvement and that led me to learn a little about Hypnosis, but since I was just so busy with my other businesses I put it on the back burner for a while.  Eventually, after starting to lose my love for real estate which is a whole other story.  I decided to jump ship in so many words and get serious about Hypnosis. During this time in my life Hypnosis seemed to exactly what I needed in a career.  I was looking for a career where I could Help People, Work for Myself, Use the skills and knowledge I currently processed to enhance my Hypnosis Business and a great chance to make a good income doing something I loved and something I found to be tons of fun.

The Creation of Something Bigger Then Myself

So at the age of 21 I started my journey to become a professional Hypnotist and 7 years later I’ve come a long way if I do say so myself. During that time I sold a few of my online businesses to help me fund my new career and in the process I started this blog, Whatsonmybrain.com which has since become one of the highest ranking and most popular Hypnosis blogs on the internet.

In the beginning I created this blog to act as online journal of my journey to become a full time Hypnotists and to serve as a resource or guide to others looking to make the move to become a Certified Hypnotist.

The funny thing was that the more I learned and grew the more my Hypnosis blog grew and took on a life of it’s own. Eventually I reached my goal and became a full time hypnotist and that was a problem because my journey had ended, well at least the reason I created the blog in the first place.

So after so careful thought I decided to take the blog a new direction and to transform this blog into free online resource for anyone looking to learn more about hypnosis or to enhance the skills and knowledge they already have in the field of Hypnotism.

I discovered I could help people through my experiences, good and bad and use my other skill sets in combination with hypnosis to help people become the best hypnotists they can be. During my journey I also ended up spending thousands and thousands of dollars on training, good and bad so I have a unique insight into what products and trainings are worth your time, money and energy and which products are just crap.

I live this business and have been doing it for some quite some time. I’ve seen good times and I’ve seen bad, I’ve made good decisions and I’ve made bad decisions, but at the end of the day you will always get the truth from me. I learned a long time ago one of the fastest ways to achieve success is to learn from the mistakes of others and learn from those who are where you want to be. Where I’m At Now In My Life

Starting this blog and the people I’ve helped from it is something I’m very proud of, but I’ve also done some other cool stuff during these last 7 years.

I’ve went on to start a successful full time Hypnosis and Consulting practice, co founded a popular Social Networking Community for Hypnotists called Free Hypnosis Community and been featured on television, radio and recently featured on such websites as The Transparent Hypnotist and The Effective Hypnosis Newsletter featuring some of the best Hypnotists in the world.

In most recent news I’ve entered into a business partnership with my long time friend and fellow Hypnotist Taylor Sherman also known as the Youtube Celebrity Pokerwithoutcards.

Under the brand of Tranced Out we have started to produce Hypnosis Trainings Products and Workshops for Hypnotists and will be releasing our first product “Tranced Out”  which is the world’s first Instant and Rapid Induction Home Study Course within the next month or so and a few other products shortly after this one.

It’s been a wonderful journey so far and I look forward to continuing it with all of you. I hope this wasn’t too boring for all of you, but this is the About Me section so don’t blame me.
