Hello Everyone,
So, why do we yell sleep if Hypnosis isn’t sleep? Someone sent me this question a few days ago and I thought it would make a good post.
To be honest the word sleep is one of the biggest reason people tend to think hypnosis is sleep. The fact of the matter is Hypnosis isn’t sleep at all. When you enter Hypnosis you are actually more “awake” then you are now. You actually become more alert and aware, but because you’re in a very relaxed state it appears from a outside point of view that you are asleep.

Things have come long way since the first person was ever hypnotized. We have learned so much more about hypnosis, patterns and the way our words affect suggestion and the way they affect the client.
This is the year 2008 and many of us are still using words that are causing hypnotist to shoot themselves in the foot. As we all know the media has really given hypnosis a bad rep over the years. While their are some good reports out there, certain movies and books have convinced people that what we do is magic or something from the occult. The average person tends to think we have “super powers” or some type of control over people. So it’s important that we stop using certain words that give people the wrong idea about what we do. I also promise that if you start to change your vocab you will notice a strong difference in the way your sessions go.

Hello Everyone
I have been getting a lot of e-mails asking is it possible to hypnotize people in a loud location. So I thought I would write a little article about how to work with clients in these situations.
First off, it is possible to perform hypnosis in a loud location and it’s done all the time. While the client and I might prefer a quiet location this isn’t always possible. The fact of the matter is that unless you have a sound proof booth their will always be some type of noise around. For instance, noises such as cars passing by, the A/C or heater coming on, People making noise outside, dogs barking and so much more.

Hello Everyone
Today has been a very big day for me overall. My hypnosis class was today, but due to being under the weather I had to stay home. I just didn’t feel safe driving to Atlanta while on medication. So I was able to attend the class by phone so I wouldn’t lose any class time. Missing class wasn’t the only thing I was worried about. Today was my National Guild of Hypnotist certification exam, which I have been waiting to take.
This is the big day for me and this site since the goal of this site is to document my journey to become the youngest certified hypnotist in Columbus, Georgia. I was pretty upset that I got sick the same week of the test, but luckily I was still able to take the test even though I couldn’t make it to Atlanta. My wonder teacher allowed me to take the test at my home. She basically told me she could fax me the test and we could go from their.

Hey Everyone
Sorry I haven’t been around lately, but I have been working on a bunch of different projects. I am also getting ready to take my National Guild of Hypnotist Certification test this Sunday. I already know I am going to pass and can’t wait to take the test. So everyone wish me luck this Sunday.
The other project I’m working on is my new website for my hypnosis practice. I’m still working out the layout and design so it may still be a week or two. I have been putting most of my free time into this project because I know a good hypnosis site can really help build your business.
I have also been spending a lot of time studying and networking with other hypnotists. I have some big things in store for this site over time so just stay on the lookout. Well I got to run, but I’ll be back in full effect soon.

Hello Everyone
Last night I had another teleconference class from 8:00pm-10:00pm. I was a little late on the call due to personal reasons, but it all worked out fine in the end.
The session was great as usually with a lot of energy from everyone. The group that I’m training with is full of so much energy and love for this profession of hypnosis. It is really nice to train with a group of people who share the same passion for hypnosis that I do. It seems to enhance the learning experience overall. The session was pretty laid back with a lot of great information. We basically went over a few of the chapters from our manual that we had to read earlier in the week. We went over things such as the dangers for the hypnotist and the client.

Hello Everyone
I was hoping to get a post typed up yesterday, but I was in a small car accident that had me a little upset. So I decided to take a step back before I wrote my next post. I didn’t want any of the negative energy to flow into my writing. I will go into a little detail here so you all can know what happened.
I was on my way back from my hypnosis certification class when I ran into some type of road bump or pothole which wrecked my front tire, rim and some of my front end. I know some of you are thinking what type of pothole did I hit? Well the city was doing a lot of road work and I guess someone forgot to place a warning sign. A pothole can do a lot of damage when traveling at highway speeds. I’ll be calling the city tomorrow to discuss a few things and see if they will cut me a check since it is their fault. When an accident happens to city neglect then they will usually cover the charges. Well I’m tired of talking about this issue so let me get back on track.

Hello Everyone
As many of you can know see whatsonmybrain.com has had a serious face lift. I have been working on little projects behind the scene and the final product is has been released.
I am a big believer in moving forward and felt it was time for this site to move forward. As some of you may remember the goal of this site was to document my journey to become the youngest certified hypnotist in Columbus, Georgia. The other goal of this site was to become a resource for beginning hypnotist and a resource to help educate the public about hypnosis. I was planning to wait to begin the changes to the site to make it more of a resource, but I have decided that the time is right. It time to no longer hide in the shadows and to make a move forward.
As many of you are viewing you can see we decided to go to a new blog format. This new design allows me more flexibility and more space to add more resources and information about hypnosis. This site is also based around widgets which make it very easy to update and redesign when I’m ready too. Some of the new things we have added to the site are as follows
*A hypnosis F.A.Q. section to help answer any questions you may have about hypnosis.
*A Glossary area with some common hypnosis terms and definitions
*A hypnosis article section for many different articles on hypnosis and all things hypnosis related
*A new site interface and design, which we hope will be very easy to navigate and easier on the eyes than the last one.
These are just a few of the new changes taking place here. I have a lot of other stuffed planned for future so please keep checking back for future updates and new developments from whatsonmybrain.com
