I’ve always been a very strong believer that anyone who owns or runs a hypnosis practice should have or at the very least learn more about these subjects. Understanding them can make the difference between being a full time, successful Hypnotist and being a part time Hypnotist who barely makes a living doing what they love or not being in business at all.

I’ve talked about these subjects before and I’m sure some of you wondered why? I may have even lost some readers who thought this blog was only going to be about techniques. Don’t get me wrong as I believe having a very strong foundation of training is highly important, but good training can only take you so far, especially if you plan to open up your own hypnosis practice.

Age Regression, Direct Suggestion, Forgiveness Work, Rapid Inductions, Instant Inductions & Parts Work are all great things to know and are useful in helping the client, but have nothing to do with getting prospects to call you and clients to enter your door.

Is It Just A Dream?

Tell me if the following sounds familiar to you in any way. You went to a training, spend a lot of money and time, learned all the newest techniques, received your certification and came out of class pumped, ready to start your own hypnosis practice, help people and make a lot of money. You’ve come out of this hypnosis training with dreams of leaving your day job, dreams of helping people to overcome their problems and dreams of creating a rewarding financial future.

You buy a nice recliner chair, find a decent office, open your door for business and then….NOTHING! You wait, you wait and maybe you get a client, maybe you get two clients, but in the end you barely make any money, you start to question yourself, your training and eventually have to close up shop, go part time or quit and work a normal job again. Does this sound familiar to you? It should as this is the reality for many Hypnotists.

We get lost in the dreams of success when the reality of the situation is the moment you decided to open up a hypnosis practice you became a business owner instead of a Hypnotist.

This Isn’t The Way It Should Be

The example above is a sad one and the truth of the situation is that because the average Hypnotist doesn’t realize or understand that you have to be more then a hypnotist to be successful in this business. This illusion that all you have to do is start a practice and open your door for business is killing our profession. Most Hypnotists are either Hobbyist or working part time and it’s not because they want to. It’s because they just aren’t receiving enough business to keep things going full time. This really concerns me and it should concern you because someone who is doing hypnosis as a hobby or working part time, struggling to barely make ends meet.

As Hypnotists we have an amazing toolbox of skills which can help people change their lives and yet most hypnotist can barely make a living. This isn’t the way it should be.

Why Are Some Hypnotists More Successful Then Others?

Why are Hypnotists like Tom Nicoli, Jerry Kein, Cal Banyan, John Weir, Matt Sison, myself and a few others able to make full time income, get featured on the news, television, newspapers and so on and be branded as the obvious expert in their area? Could it be their location? Is it where we received our training?

Why do you know names such as Tom Nicoli and others? It’s because they are considered experts in their field which is a direct result of their branding and marketing efforts. It’s not magic. We just understand that if you don’t tell anyone what you do then how will they find you and come to your office? To be successful you must market yourself as the expert.

The biggest lie ever sold to us is that all we need to do is know how to hypnotize someone. I’m sure like most people you never went to business school or went after a degree in marketing. Most Hypnotists have never even read a book on business, entrepreneurship or marketing.  The real question is how do we learn what we need to know to become successful Hypnotists? Well…the answer is being brought to us by someone you may know who goes by the name of John Weir!

Who Is John Weir?

If you’ve been doing hypnosis for a while or belong to the National Guild of Hypnotists then I’m sure you’ve heard of John. He’s the new face of hypnosis. He’s young, talented, smart and one hell of a marketer/business man. John wasn’t some rich kid and he didn’t have access to a lot of a cash to start his business. He had no business training, no marketing training and at the time he didn’t even have a college education. John, at the age of 19 was delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut for $5.00 an hour.

The Hypnosis Business Coaching Home Study Course

John and I haven’t known each other long, but in the short time we have known each other we’ve become  good friends because of our similar interests. I’ve reviewed a few different courses that claim to teach marketing to Hypnotists, but as of yet I’ve haven’t seen one that comes close to the level of detail, knowledge and resources that this program provides it’s students. Here is a break down of what you get with the Hypnosis Business Coaching Home Study Course:

Modules

The modules are what you would call the main course. Each module is presented to you in an interview fashion where either Bob ask John questions or vice versa. Each module is around an hour or longer and contains very in-depth details and instructions.  Here a small breakdown of some of the info included in the modules.

NOTE: I am only providing a few of the things John and Bob cover as the course is so large and comprehensive I would have to turn this post into an e-book to fit it all in. Also, feel free to listen to any of the modules in whatever order you like. There is no specific order, but I do recommend at least listening to the Introduction Module First and then the module on Guerrilla Marketing. After that, feel free to jump in!

Introduction to Hypnosis Business Coaching

This is the shortest of all the modules and is really nothing more then an introduction, but that doesn’t make it any less powerful. This introduction sets up the rest of the course and also allows you to see why John is so passionate about this program.

Guerrilla Marketing

Our of all the modules this would have to be my favorite one because it shows you what you can truly achieve if you just put in a little time and effort. In this module John takes you to the start of it all and tells you his story, walking you step by step the exact same methods, strategies and techniques he used to start spreading the word about himself and his practice. John leaves no stone unturned in this module covering everything from business cards, brochures & how they should look and what they should say to where and how to pass them out. You’ll learn how to put on corporate events and have companies write you some serious checks! Oh…John even shares his secret to finding office space for cheap and sometimes for free.

Press Release Module

This is the most powerful module of them all in my opinion as John shares his biggest secret to success and holds nothing back. Press releases are one of the quickest and cheapest ways to get known as the obvious expert in your area and to attract the attention of major media outlets. Here are just a few of the topics John covers. You’ll discover what a press release is, how to get in every media outlet in your area for free, how to promote your events/seminars, the Biggest mistake people make when doing press releases and the number one thing to avoid and much more.

Social Media Strategies

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you know how I preach that Hypnotist need to learn to utilize the internet. It’s one of the most powerful methods of marketing that exist today and if your not using it you’re being left behind. Well John and Bob share my belief on this subject. In this module you’ll learn how to use Social Media and leverage it to market your business. Sites like Facebook, Youtube, Twitter and many other sites are much more then just a place to find lost, forgotten friends. Unlimited Referrals

Referrals are a critical part of running a successful hypnosis practice. You won’t be in business long without referrals and John is an expert at this subject. In addition, this module also discusses a subject which seems to cause a problem for  a lot of hypnotists. Working with other professionals such as doctors, therapist and etc. You’ll learn how to get them to send you tons of referrals and thank you for allowing them to send their patients to you. To date I haven’t seen a program that is this in-depth on referrals from clients, strangers and professionals. Honestly, in my opinion John could sell this one module as a separate course as it’s just that good. The amount of detail John goes into is mind blowing to say the least.

Youtube Module

If you aren’t using Youtube right now then what are you waiting for. There Has Never Been A Program Like This Before

As you can see John and Bob have sparred no expense in bringing you a complete, in depth and comprehension course that will give you all the skills, resources, knowledge and tools you need to be successful as a Hypnotist. As I said earlier it would take me forever to list everything covered in this course as it’s filled with gold! Every successful Hypnotist in our business has used these tactics or a mixture of these methods and techniques at some point in time to become the obvious expert in their area. You can too!

As you listen to the program you can hear the passion in John and Bob’s voice and you can see that this course means everything to them. John truly believes that this program can change the course of Hypnosis forever and guess what….I completely agree. I know that reviews should be a little bias, but I too believe that our profession isn’t living up to what it could be and that’s because most of us are part time or aren’t even practicing and this is a direct result of Hypnotists know be taught how to market their new practice.

There Isn’t Enough Business For All Of Us – Not True!

One of biggest problems I see with our profession is the competition model. Hypnotists tend to act as if they are competing with every other hypnotist in their area. This creates a division between all of us and this way of thinking is completely untrue.

There is more then enough business for everyone. There is an abundance amount of money and clients so stop competing with each other. This way of thinking actually holds you back when you should be moving forward. There is no excuse for you not to be making five or six figures a year putting the strategies and methods in this program to use.

I talked to John a lot during the creation of this course and have seen it evolve into something more then a home study course. I have seen it evolve into a vision for the future of our profession. I personally would like to see this course taught to every future hypnosis student. I know that by exposing yourself to the knowledge in this course you will change your life if you act on the information presented. I have a background in business and marketing and I can speak from my own experience that this course is the real deal.

I have yet to see a course as n-depth as this program and that contains the wisdom from start to finish of one of the most successful hypnotist in the United States today.

Hypnosis Business Coaching Review Conclusion

I can’t promise you’ll be successful using all of the information laid out in this program, but that’s because I can’t see what you do after you listen to this information. All I can say is that the same information in this course has and is being used by the most successful Hypnotists of our time and it would cost you thousands and thousands of dollars to get a hold of this information on your own from different sources. Let’s not even talk about how many hours it would take for you to acquire this knowledge.

I’ve reviewed a lot of programs here on this blog and have read even more in my personal and professional life and this has to be the most powerful program I’ve ever reviewed. I have yet to find any flaws within the program. The audio is clear and sounds good, the resources are professional produced, the information is golden.

This review is already long enough so let me finish with these few words. If you are serious about becoming a practicing hypnotist and want to help the most people you can while making insane amounts of money then you NEED this course. Look at this course as an investment in your life instead of another training program.

Don’t look back at this moment 5 years from now and think, why didn’t I take action. Success can be yours if you truly want it. If you decide for some strange reason that this program isn’t for you then please do me a favor and at least tell others about it. Hopefully John’s vision as well as my own for this program can become a reality….someday.

Isn’t it odd how time just passes by? It’s been a little over 2 years since Sean Michael Andrews came onto the scene with his first 2 disc DVD project titled Instant and Rapid Inductions.

This was one of the first projects released within a decade that actually took the subject of Instant and Rapid Inductions and broke them down into a step by step process in a classroom setting.

If you’ve been a reader of my Hypnosis blog for sometime you know I actually reviewed Sean’s first DVD when it was released. I’ve seen a lot of different trainings and as far as content went it was one of the best I’ve seen on the subject of Instant and Rapid Inductions. I still, to this day recommend it as a great resource for anyone interested in learning hypnosis.

Now as much as I liked the content you also know I put everything on the table. While the content of Sean’s first DVD was great the production quality wasn’t that good. The sound wasn’t very clear and went out at times as well as lackluster video editing. Still, for Sean Michael Andrews first time out the game I thought it was a pretty decent undertaking and in many ways that released helped to take Sean from being the Street Hypnotist everyone on Youtube was talking about to being an international known hypnotist and trainer.

Sean Michael Andrews Is Back For Round 2 With His Newest Release

After 2 and half years and 6 DVD projects later Sean Michael Andrews is back with a brand new project called Instant and Rapid Inductions Second Edition.

Yup, Sean has taken it back to the beginning, back to the DVD that helped launched his career and decided to upgrade his popular Instant and Rapid Induction Training DVD. Now, let me be upfront and hopefully clear something up for all of you reading. When I say an update I really mean more like….Sean Michael Andrew started over from scratch and rebuilding this project from the foundation up. In reality…..this is a completely new training program, not just an upgrade.

I wanted to clear that up because as I’m sure you know when people usually create a second edition or a 2.0 program they usually keep the main program, but just add a few extra clips or scenes or maybe just add a special bonus or two. This is how most product creators handle product upgrades no matter what the industry or profession. Lucky for us this isn’t the case with Sean’s Instant and Rapid Inductions Second Edition project.

Exactly What Is Instant and Rapid Inductions Second Edition?

This program contains completely new material which comes from a variety of settings such as classroom, office and street. So you not only get to see Sean perform all his inductions and techniques within a classroom setting, but you also get to see him put them to work on the streets and his office. The first project from Sean was filmed entirely in a classroom so you only got to see Sean at work within that setting, but not the second edition.

If you’re into street hypnosis then your going to love this project as it features tons of examples performed live in the streets. If your into more of the traditional office approach Sean also has tons of examples and he also has tons of classroom examples too. In addition, Sean also provides step by step instructions within the different environments as well. So you can see how his approach changes for the different settings. Another big change from his original program is that the second edition is three DVDs instead of two. So your going to get a lot more content and the training won’t feel as rushed as it done with the first edition.

As I mentioned above Sean decided to keep this version much more open and free. It also includes clips from varies locations around the United States and Canada. Wow! Sean has come a long way since his little classroom project. I guess we can now say Sean is an international man of mystery (okay, bad joke!)  I guess being a funny man isn’t in my future lol.

You Feel Like Your Getting A Much More Rounded Training

Before I start breaking down the actually product and getting to the meat of this review I feel I have to mention that this hypnosis training feels much more rounded then the first project done by Sean. When you watch the Second Edition you feel like your getting more of a complete training course.

In the past it felt as if it was just a one day class. This isn’t the case with Instant & Rapid Inductions Second Edition. Sean has become a much better teacher from those days and there is a lot more content to consume. Sean also spends more time with the step by step approach which helps to make this project feel as if it’s a weekend course. I still recommend you pick up the first DVD if possible, but if you haven’t I know for fact that you’ll be able to perform an Instant or Rapid Induction by the time you complete this program. (Keep in mind you have to actually watch it so no shortcuts okay?)

Instant & Rapid Inductions Second Edition Production

As most of my readers know when I do a review I like to be through. I can’t stand when people just say a course is good so buy it. If I’m going to spend my hard earned money on something I like to know it’s worth that money. So I always like to talk about the production and design quality in addition to the content the training covers. I know some of you could care less about the production value, but a lot of people do care about this and I’m one of them.

If you bought the first edition of Sean’s training DVD you know that the production on the first project wasn’t very good. It suffered from bad camera work, bad audio and pretty much no editing. The content was great, but the production quality wasn’t that good. I’m not picking on Sean because if the truth be told the majority of hypnosis products have bad video and bad editing.

There Is No Failure, Only Feedback

What I love about Sean is that he never just settles. He is always looking to improve and make every new project better. If you’ve been following his other projects such Amazing Inductions, Inducing The Trance, Deepening The Trance and others you know that the production has got better and better.  I remember talking with Sean a few months ago and he told me something I’ve been telling people for years. If your not good at something then find someone who is and then do only the stuff your great at. This is great advice and Sean put his advice to work for him when he connected with and hired Dale Gardner.

I won’t go into Dale’s background, but the guy is a genius when it comes to production, editing and directing. He has done stuff for VH1, MTV and other credible television and movie projects. The moment he started working with Sean you saw an immediate improvement in quality, sound and design. They have got better with each project, but how is the second edition?

Instant and Rapid Inductions Second Edition may be Dale’s best work yet. The DVDs have a professional menu which just blows you away when you insert it into your DVD player. I swear it almost looks like something you would see with 3d glasses. Once you click play an amazing intro begins that far surpasses anything done on previous projects. Dale makes Sean look like a rock star in this brand new intro.

Overall the video quality is amazing and even the clips when Sean is doing street hypnosis look crystal clear. The sound is great and you can make out everything Sean is saying even when he’s in the middle of a busy crowd or class. In my opinion this is some of his best work yet. Even the cover art is a improvement for Sean as it really illustrates what the DVDs are all about, Instant and Rapid Inductions. If your someone who enjoys good content and good production value you won’t be let down. Now that I got all of that out of the way let’s move on and see what’s awaiting for you in disc 1….

Instant & Rapid Inductions Second Edition Disc 1:

As with previous projects by Sean each disc covers a number of different subjects. All of them which are needed to master instant and rapid inductions. Sean starts this disc by giving a nice overview of what instant and rapid inductions are, why you need to know them, how to use them and why 90 percent of hypnotists are scared to use them.

Sean makes it very clear from the beginning of this disc that his goal isn’t to have you become a carbon copy of him, but to be able to perform these inductions so well that you’ll able to create your own. Sean also goes into detail why Progressive Muscle Relaxation Inductions are just not enough.

Here’s a breakdown of the different subjects Sean Teaches in the first DVD.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that I can’t cover every single thing on the three DVDs. There will be material covered on the DVDs not listed in this review.

The Pre-Talk:

In this section Sean goes into detail about the pre-talk and the important of it when doing hypnosis in general and when doing instant and rapid inductions. Sean actually says something in this disc that caught me off guard and which I don’t agree completely with, but I can see why he does it. Sean doesn’t use the pre-talk to educate the person about hypnosis, but to get them to let you hypnotize them. An interesting statement that could be debated, but Sean does make some interesting points.

In addition, Sean shows you a number of different examples of him performing the pre-talk in different settings and even gives you his exact pre-talk word for word. Sean also covers topics such as working with men and women and how to adjust your approach to fit each one of the sexes as well as the single most important thing you can do to protect yourself and your clients. (I’m not talking about the Bill of Rights either.)

Suggestibility Tests:

After Sean talks about the pre-talk he goes right into talking about different suggestibility test and how they are to be used properly. As Sean says it’s not a test to determine suggestibility, but how well they use their imagination. (Nice language which I may have to steal.) Once again you get tons of examples of Sean in different settings doing a number of different test such as the Arms rising and failing, the spiegel eye roll test, hand clasp, magnetic fingers and more.

Hand Drop Induction:

This is the induction you’ve seen Sean perform on countless Youtube videos as well as other successful Hypnotists such as Tom Nicoli and Cal Banyan.  Sean teaches you how to do it step by step and provides you all the tips you need to succeed. This section is also where you’ll learn why they work and how to create an instant induction using the flight or fight system and how to spot your window of opportunity.

If you never knew how to do this induction you’ll know exactly how. You’ll learn where to place your hands, special wording, troubleshooting and safety tips to make sure no one is ever hurt. The one thing I enjoyed the most about this part is that Sean talks about something that I teach which is outcome. Yeah it’s cool that you can do these inductions, but you need to know your outcome before you even begin. Intent and Outcome are so important and Sean explains why.

Ambiguous Touch (Milton Erickson’s Handshake Induction):

If your a fan of Milton Erickson then you’ll love this induction. This is the famous handshake induction used by Milton Erickson which made people scared to shake his hand. Sean demonstrates it step by step with a number of different up close angles. You’ll discover where to place your fingers and what to do when it goes wrong, if it does. Sean actually includes a video clip of a client he couldn’t get the Ambiguous touch to work.  See….if big time Hypnotists like Sean mess up

Distraction Filter:

The distraction Filter isn’t an actually induction. It’s a technique to use when working with a client so you can work with that client without them being disturbed by outside influences. Now you may think you know this technique as I taught something similar on my blog, but this goes much further then just noise. Sean uses this for sensation, sound, feelings and more.

Instant & Rapid Inductions Second Edition Disc 2:

Arm Pull Induction:

This is the other instant induction you’ve seen Sean perform time after time on Youtube videos. As with all the other inductions taught on this DVD you’ll learn step by step how to do it. You’ll see tons and tons of examples of it being performed with different angles. You’ll see every little thing Sean is doing so don’t worry about pausing the DVD.

If you can’t do this induction after Sean breaks it down you don’t need to be hypnotizing anyone. Sorry, but I call it like I see it.

Head Roll Deepener:

You’ll finally look why Sean is always rotating the head of people when he does an induction. The purpose, why it’s done, how it should be done and a number of other deepening techniques are included. This is a pretty in-depth section and Sean covers the finer points as well such as when you should do them, how long, exactly at what point and the ones he personally uses.

Elman Rapid Induction:

Yes, the famous Dave Elman Induction (my favorite). Sean and I are in completely agreement as he also says this is the most powerful rapid induction ever created. You’ll learn why this induction is so powerful and get to see Sean perform in about 4 minutes from start to finish without ever rushing it.

You’ll learn how to study it and the properly way to perform it. Btw, if you’ve been reading it from start to finish your not doing it right. This induction should really be taught in phases and Sean does exactly that. He demo’s each section over and over again going over every little detail. You may, at times get annoyed at how much detail Sean does goes into, but take it for what it’s worth…gold. Its better to go over every detail and get it right then to skip a detail and get it wrong.

You’ll also learn how to troubleshoot the part of the Elman induction that gives most people the biggest amount of trouble…losing the numbers. You’ll learn how to get them to lose the numbers 99 percent of the time and how to transform this induction into an instant induction when needed. You’ll also learn the points of failure so you know how to recognize them and avoid them. In reality this could be an entire course on the Elman induction, but it’s included within this disc. In addition, Sean also goes over information such as hypnotic Amnesia, the use of fractionization and more.

Finger Snap Induction:

This is one of my favorite inductions because it’s so simple and looks so cool that most people would swear its fake. You’ll learn how to do it and once again tons of examples are given within office, class and street settings. I can’t say this enough. Tons and tons of examples are throughout all the DVDs.

Hand Shake Interrupt:

This is one of my favorites as well and if your a fan of Derren Brown you may have seen him use this induction on TV many times. This isn’t the Erickson handshake, but the one made famous by Richard Bandler. You’ll learn how it works, step by step. You’ll see Sean do this step by step and how it even works when the person knows to expect it.

Instant & Rapid Inductions Second Edition Disc 3:

In the final DVD Sean teaches you the stuff you need to know to keep your clients safe as well as information you just need to know if your going to be hypnotizing people in general.

This is a very important to section to watch and please don’t skip it. You’ll learn how to do these inductions safely without bringing harm to your client or yourself. You’ll learn why you should never do falling backward inductions and also get Sean’s personal checklist for safety.

You’ll learn about Unrestricted catalepsy, inappropriate suggestions, false memories and how to remove suggestions properly. You’ll learn what to do when someone doesn’t emerge from hypnosis and how to tell the difference between them being in the Coma State and them just enjoying the feeling of being hypnotized.

In addition, Sean will also go over Negative and Positive Hallucinations, Deepening Techniques, the different signs of Trance and a number of different challenge test. As a bonus you’ll also get to see Sean perform tons of different hypnotic phenomena in the three different settings as well.

Instant & Rapid Inductions Second Edition Review Conclusion

I know this has been a long review, but as you know I like to make sure you get all the details and facts. Now the big question is do you need this training if you own the first one and the answer is yes. Sean gave you a lot of great stuff on the first one and even some stuff on it that he doesn’t cover on the second one, but the new project is more complete. You can tell Sean has improved his teaching style. You get a lot more information in this round and Sean answers many of the questions left unanswered in the first volume in this new one.

You get multiple camera angles, in depth details and tons and tons and tons of examples. Yes, there is no hiding it I am a fan of Sean’s training. I’ve followed him for a really long time and I must admit I wouldn’t be the Hypnotist I am today without Sean’s help. This 3 DVD set is straight to the point and follows through on the promise Sean makes at the beginning. After watching these three DVDs you should have no problem creating and preforming your own instant and rapid inductions. So if you want a tool for your hypnotic toolbox that can stay with you forever then this is a great investment.

Best Practices of Dave Elman is basically a collection of Dave Elman’s best teachings presented by Sean Michael Andrews and with insight provided by the the son of Dave Elman, Colonel Larry Elman.

If you’ve been a reader of this Hypnosis blog you know I’m a huge fan of Dave Elman and most of my training and expertise is based off his direct style of Hypnosis. Even though Dave is no longer with us he has left a mark on the hypnosis world that will never be filled.

After opening the package from Sean I was little overwhelmed. The last few weeks I’ve been sick as a dog from food poisoning so I didn’t even know if I would be able to get this review completed by the time I wanted it to be ready. My personal deadline I set for myself is tomorrow which is Sept 22 and I’m currently staying up all night to write this review. Yes, I could just schedule another deadline, but I find having deadlines set in stone keeps me on my toes and makes sure I get work done.

So with all of that being said let’s take a deeper look into Sean Michael Andrews & Colonel Larry Elman’s newest training, Best Practices of Dave Elman 4 DVD set.

“Hypnotherapy” Is Reborn

One of my most favorite books in the whole world of Hypnosis is Dave Elman’s book titled, Hypnotherapy. This book isn’t new and was written many years ago. Still, it’s one of the best books on Hypnosis and provides tons of useful material. The problem is that the material is really dated and it can be hard to find a copy of this book for a decent price. The other problem is that this book provides tons and tons of techniques, but you have to be able to convert it from text which can be a problem for some people.

Well, this problem has finally been solved with the released of Best Practices of Dave Elman as it’s like the book Hypnotherapy on DVD! I still recommend you read the book, but this set of DVDs allows a whole new generation to be exposed to the teachings and of this amazing Hypnotist. You get to see all of the best teachings of Dave Elman performed live and with unique insights being provided by Larry Elman which make you feel like your in a time machine, in a training class with Dave Elman himself.

Child Hypnosis

Hypnosis for Children has always been a fun topic for me because Children are just so easy to hypnotize and make the perfect client. Why are children so easy to hypnotize? Well, it’s because they haven’t begun to form their critical faulty yet. This means that whatever suggestions you give them are easily accepted and regarded as truth by them. Unlike adults who have many years of life and experiences to hinder them children are pretty much a clean slate.

In this part of the DVD Sean goes into a in depth discussion about Children and why they make great subjects. He breaks everything down and gives detailed instructions for how to induce hypnosis easily within a child and how to actually begin the change work. While there weren’t any children in the live event Sean demonstrates the techniques Dave Elman used when working with children on the members of the audience.

Larry Elman provides some AWESOME insights about his father and how some of these techniques were created and why his Father did things the way he did. This stuff is gold in my opinion because you won’t find it in any book as this is from personal talks he had with his dad, Dave Elman. Sean even demonstrates a technique I’ve never seen before for working with children who are a little resistant. This technique also shows you why he has the name, The World’s Fastest Hypnotist.

Signs of Hypnosis

In this section Sean goes over many of the different signs Dave Elman used to look for to see if a person was entering Hypnosis. Dave used a much more simpler scale than many of use today, but it works well. Personally I think that his signs of Hypnosis will make you a better Hypnotist because they are things you really have to pay attention to more than some of the signs we use today. This allows us to pay better attention to what’s going on with our clients.

Semantics of Suggestion

This section discusses the semantics of suggestions and how you have to choose your words very careful. Sean and Larry talk a little bit about Pain Control in this section, but they use it more as a talking point to illustrate what can go wrong when you don’t watch your words. Remember, we are in a profession where our words can make the difference between a client getting better, staying the same or even getting worst. Your learn the words you should always avoid and hear a story from Larry Elman about the negatives of not watching what you say around someone.

Waking Hypnosis

This section isn’t really long, but goes into the topic of Waking Hypnosis and how it can be applied for your clients benefit. There are a few nice points in this section that go beyond the whole, you can be hypnotized with your eyes wide open. You’ll learn how to use waking hypnosis when normal hypnosis doesn’t work and when to avoid the use of waking hypnosis for legal purposes. I would have liked to see a few demo’s of this in action, but for the most part solid information.

The Dave Elman Induction

Sean eventually goes into the subject of The Dave Elman Induction which as you know is one of the most powerful rapid inductions ever created. I use this induction more than any other induction because it works very well and has a lot of different test built in which allows me to know exactly where my client is in terms of trance.

A lot of people think they know how to perform this induction, but the moment something goes wrong they have no idea on how to  troubleshoot it. This section is excellent as Sean demos the induction multiple times and provides some really great success tips. Some of this may be familiar to those who have downloaded my free Induction Blueprint report, but you’ll pick up some nice tips if you watch carefully.

You’ll even get some bonus material such as how to get implied permission, Sean’s distraction Filter Pattern and more. You’ll also get some more insight into this induction from Larry Elman.

Reviewing The Parts

In this section Sean Michael Andrews takes the Elman Induction even further and breaks it down into multiple steps. Instead of learning the Dave Elman Induction as ONE BIG INDUCTION you’ll learn it in steps and processes as it was meant to be taught. I promise that if you learn the different processes in this induction that you’ll success rate will skyrocket. The stuff Sean teaches in this part is one of the reasons why I get such great success rates.

The Dave Elman Induction is a piece of art and it’s important to know how to handle art. The adding of words or taking words away from the induction can actually hurt your success rate. Sean and Larry will teach it the way his father taught it. No filler and no fluff.

In addition to learning about the Elman Induction Sean also shares his really cool 47 pre-talk! Yep! 47 seconds which is one of the fastest I’ve seen. My pre-talk typically takes 10 to 15 minutes in an office setting. So I learned something new here. You’ll learn about one of the most common mistakes people make which is thinking they have real somnambulism when in reality they only have artificial somnambulism.  You’ll also get some interesting insights as Larry and Sean give feedback to class members who are performing the induction during the class.

So you’ll get to see different styles of this induction performed and how it can be improved. This is a really great teaching section and make sure to take a lot of notes here.

Best Practices of Dave Elman Volume Two

As with the previous DVD all of them start with a small interview between Sean and Larry which help to set the tone for the rest of the DVD.  In this DVD Sean covers a very unethical practices that is starting to be seen again within our profession called the Hypnotic Seal.

The Seal is when a Hypnotists makes it where the client can’t be hypnotized by anyone else. It’s a really unethical practice and it hasn’t been seen in years, but it’s making a comeback. Very sad

In this section Sean actually performs a Hypnotic Seal on someone in the class so he can teach the other students how to spot a seal and the different techniques to break it. Yes, the hypnotic seal can be broken with ease, but you have to know how to spot it. Sean get’s the point across in a creative way in this section, but I won’t spoil it for you.

Deepening The Trance

As the title suggest Sean demo’s a number of different deepeners used by Dave Elman. I have to admit that seeing all of Dave’s techniques in person make a huge difference. When reading a few of them I have to admit that I dismissed them for one reason or another. More than likely I was having trouble seeing the technique in my head since all the techniques in were in text format.

Yet, to see the technique performed live I really liked it and think I’m going to add it to my toolbox. Sean doesn’t go into the level of depth he goes into on his Deepening the trance DVD, but remember that this DVD is only teaching material Dave Elman taught.

Suggestions

In this section Larry and Sean talk about suggestion formation. A few little nuggets in this section, but a lot of this was material I already knew. The one great feature about this section thought was the insight from Larry Elman. Even though Sean does most of the teaching Larry steals the show with his insights and advice. Maybe it’s because I’m a history buff, but I really enjoy hearing Larry dive deep into the mind of his father. Throughout all the DVDs Larry will pop in with his thoughts and personal insights from his father. When he talks you need to listen as you’ll learning something most people will never know since it’s not in written format anyone else.

Hypnosis For Pain

This was discusses a little bit in Volume one, but Sean and Larry take it a little further in this section.

Our two instructors discuss Dave Elman’s view on pain control  and we learn how some of his techniques for pain control were created from some of his Stage Hypnosis techniques. You get to see some demo’s of pain control techniques being performed and Sean also goes into a small talk about the need for pain and how to avoid getting into trouble with the law on this subject.

You’ll also see Don work with someone for a small headache and when something doesn’t go as planned you’ll discover how to handle it.

I don’t think Sean planned it to go down this way, but it was nice to see something not go perfect so we can learn from it.

20 Second Headache cure

Okay, this section is just plain cool! Sean demonstrates a technique he learned from someone else, but it’s one I’ve never seen before, but I want to learn it. It’s a technique to get rid of a headache in just 20 seconds. Seriously, 20 seconds! I should give you a warning that Sean goes through this technique very fast so you may have to rewind a few times to get the entire script. Since Sean doesn’t own this technique I’m guessing this is why he doesn’t teach it in detail. As I mentioned my only problem is that it’s done so fast it’s hard to pick up, but Sean does give you the details of where to learn it. Awesome stuff though and if you can learn it I know it’s going to be a great tool for you.

Auto Suggestion

This section is pretty basic for the most part, but has a few nice gems. You get to see Sean use Re-inductions with a member of the class and how to do the hypnotic stare.

Confirmation – Elman Success with Pain

This section goes into detail about the different successes Dave Elman has working with Pain reduction. Once again, you get some more insight into the mind of someone who is going through massive amounts of pain and how Hypnosis can help them. This section is more of a discussion on how hypnotic pain control techniques can help someone who has a lot of pain. A nice discussion and few good gems here, but this section isn’t one where you’ll learn any specific techniques. Still, the insights from Larry and Sean are nice additions close this DVD out pretty good in my opinion.

Best Practices of Dave Elman Volume Three

Out of all the volumes in Best Practices of Dave Elman series I would have to say that this is my favorite one because I’m a huge believer in the use of Regression Hypnotherapy. Obviously I recommend you don’t do Hypnosis Regression work unless you have been properly trained because you can mess someone up if you don’t know what your doing.

Regression & Hypnoanalysis

This volume goes into really great detail about the subject of Regression. Sean starts by giving a warning to the class that you have to be careful using this technique, but don’t let that scare  you from learning it. You’ll learn the proper way to ask questions to a client without misleading them and also learn how to stay objective as that’s the key to becoming really good at this work. You’ll learn how to perform a regression using a few different techniques such as directed regression, non directed regression, hall of records and more.

Sean will also show you how to avoid some of the most common mistakes such as how to find the real root cause and not just some secondary cause. So if you’ve ever been interested in regression this is a really good section.

HypnoAnalysis

For those of you who like to see actual techniques performed than this is the section for you. Sean actually gets a member of the audience to undergo Regression Hypnotherapy for a fear or rejection. You’ll see Sean work with the student from start to finish and I promise you’ll be really focused on this part. It’s just interested to see a regression done and to see how Sean takes her back to different points in her life to find the root cause of the problem.

Sean actually runs into a few problems with the client which are great for teaching purposes, but Sean remains steady and keeps going until he gets to the root cause of the problem which is going to be something you might not expect. This is a great teaching section which should produce a ton of notes for you. After seeing this you’ll want to learn how to do regression hypnosis, trust me.

Hypnotic Coma

Obviously I’m not talking about a really coma, but the coma state as known as the Esdaile State to most of us. This is a depth/level/state or trance where the client doesn’t want to respond to the operator/Hypnotist because they are in a place of complete joy. I have actually done a lot of work with the Esdaile state as it has always interested me. You don’t experience any pain while in this state which makes it perfect for operations.

You’ll learn about the history of this state, how to get it with your own clients and how to know when you have it. You’ll also learn about the different benefits this state can provide your client and most importantly how to emerge them from the Hypnotic Coma. Remember, in the coma state they don’t want to emerge because it feels so good and if you give them a suggestion to emerge, they won’t! So you need to know how to emerge them properly.

The Group Elman Induction

In the final section of this volume Sean performs a group version of the Elman Induction. The Elman can be used as a group induction and is great for stage hypnotists as well. You’ll see Sean go through the entire Induction and than Larry will chime in with some more great advice.

Best Practices of Dave Elman Bonus Disk

The final disk of the Best Practices of Dave Elman is a bonus disk which has some cool content on it such as a never seen before induction with a break down from Larry Elman as well as seeing Larry actually perform this rare induction. You’ll also get access to some cool, never seen before photos of Dave Elman.

The bonus disc starts off with a brief introduction and than goes right into Sean performing  an antique version of the famous Elman Induction which hasn’t been seen in years.

This bonus section is pretty funny because Sean is attempting to do an induction he has never done before and just can’t seem to get it right which leads Larry Elman to take the reign and perform this induction on Ian for the entire class.

You also get to hear a really cool story about why the Elman Induction became the way it is today compared to the way it was in the in the beginning.This was a real treat as were witnesses history here. I know, it may be an induction to some of you, but if you truly love this profession you should love the really rich history our profession has associated with it.

A Few Final Thoughts

It’s a rare thing when such a powerful and classic book is brought back to life for a new generation. The only remains we have of the legendary Dave Elman is his book Hypnotherapy and if your lucky, his audio tapes. Dave Elman changed our profession for the better and brought something our profession seemed to lacked for years which is credibility.

Sean Michael Andrews and Dave Elman’s son, Larry Elman have done something really amazing with this project. They have taken the essence and soul of Dave Elman and made it where it can be shared with the entire world in a completely new way.

As our profession grows we learn new techniques and discover new information about the mind, but sometimes we forgot the basics. We forget the techniques which forged the way for some of the techniques today. Hell, some of the techniques today are really nothing more than techniques created by legends such as Milton Erickson and Dave Elman, but with a twist. I review a lot of projects as it comes with the job of being a blogger, but I can say without a doubt that this has been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had a while. I know, how can watching a few DVDs be rewarding? Well, I love what I do and I love understanding the mind and learning more about Hypnosis.

A Few Final Words On The Best Practices of Dave Elman

The Best Practices of Dave Elman give us unrestricted access into the mind of one of the greats. We are able to experience and appreciate his work in a whole new way with these DVDs. I think it’s an excellent set and while it’s not perfect it’s a treasure chest of information which I think every Hypnotist needs to have in their collection. I’ve been invited to a live event coming up and I’m planning to attend so I can experience what I experienced with the DVDs live.

I have to say that Sean and Larry are a great team and they should be honored for bringing Elman back into the public eye. My hat off to both of you and I look forward to seeing what the future brings for these two. I know that the students who attended this class will become better Hypnotists. It’s not because they have learned new techniques, but because they have learned why they work, how they work and now have a deeper understanding of them.

Well, unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the last few years or so I’m pretty sure  you’ve heard of KC Johnson. If nothing comes to your mind when I mention that name then maybe you’ll remember him by his Super Hero Youtube secret identity, KC2XL. (I’m just kidding…KC isn’t a super hero…..is he?)

KC Johnson is one of the rising stars of our profession and just a really cool, down to earth guy. I first ran across KC about two years or so ago while looking for some Youtube videos on Instant and Rapid Inductions. After clicking and watching a bunch of really sub-par videos on the subject I came across a video from KC Johnson.

Learn How To Do The “EXACT” Same Hypnosis Inductions KC does In His Youtube Videos!

The moment I started watching the video I was hooked. I felt I was watching an actual Hypnosis training product the way KC produced and edited his videos. He was very professional and his instructions and explanations were simple and concise. Even the description of his videos read like a Hypnosis training manual by giving you more insight into what was going on in the video and the different hypnotic processes KC was using with his volunteers in the videos. It was just refreshing to see someone take a Youtube video so serious and actually provide a lot of useful value.

Patience Is A Virtue

Now, let’s skip forward a couple of months. Over time KC kept releasing more and more videos and his online popularity on Youtube kept growing. KC isn’t new to hypnosis by any means as he runs a very successful offline practice called Paradox Hypnosis, but his online presence was really building some momentum. He was also becoming well known for his use of Instant  Hypnosis Inductions within his videos.

KC was receiving comment after comment from people asking him to teach them how he does his inductions or if he would consider making a DVD on the subject. As an avid learning and fan myself I also asked KC that same question one day on the phone and his response was usually the same which was that it would be something he would have to think about.

See, you need to understand something about KC. This guy cares so much about our profession and holds himself to such a high degree of credibility and professionalism that he just didn’t want to rush into it and create some sub-par product. Can you blame him? There are just too many of these types of products out there in the hypnosis marketplace.

KC is  a very big proponent of students attending live training as you can get hands on practice, instructions and guidance from a qualified instructor which is something you just can’t get with some DVD courses nowadays. So If KC was going to create a product he was going to have to figure out a way to bring that same guidance, quality and level of training to a DVD project and that’s not as easy as you would think. (Trust me, I know) So until he could figure out how that was going to happen, a project from him wasn’t going to happen.

Well, month after month of waiting and I guess the time is finally right as KC has recently released his first Hypnosis Training project and I must say it’s one of the best DVD projects I’ve seen in a very long time. All of the waiting we had to do for a product from KC is well worth it as you can tell the moment you pop this DVD in that KC didn’t make some quick fly by night product.

So it’s truly an honor and pleasure for me to be one of the first people in the world to review KC Johnson’s first project. Instant and Rapid Inductions 2 Disc Set: Including An Overview Of The Fundamentals of Hypnosis

Not Another Instant and Rapid Inductions DVD…

I know, you’re thinking not another damn DVD on the subject of Instant and Rapid Inductions. Doesn’t the Hypnosis world have enough projects out in the marketplace from people such as Richard Nongard, Jerry Kein, Sean Michael Andrews and yes, even me.

So do we really need another project on this subject? Well, obvious the answer is yes because this subject is still one of the most requested topics in the world of Hypnosis. You wouldn’t believe the amount of e-mails I receive on this subject alone. So if people are asking and waiting to know even with all of these great resources out there then that tells us people feel they need to know more or maybe have it explained in a different way.

Now, before I continue let me say that KC has done something very different with this project and I’m not talking about a nice looking cover. This is literally the first Instant and Rapid Induction DVD I have ever come across that doesn’t even teach you about instant and rapid inductions till almost 30 min into the second disc. This is not a traditional Instant and Rapid Inductions product by any means…and personally I think that’s a good thing.

Now, before we continue I feel I must give the production of this DVD its own section as it’s the production that sets the stage for this great DVD…

The Production On This DVD Is Game Changing

Let’s be honest, In terms of production quality hypnosis products haven’t had a great history of success. For the most part the majority of hypnosis training videos are outdated and many of them filmed with low quality camcorders. Don’t get me wrong as I believe it’s not always about the quality of the video, but the quality of the content, but it’s nice to have a product whose production quality can match its content.

The production of a project can help define its place in the market and is critical for branding. Luckily things seem to be changing with the hypnosis world as within the last year or so I’ve seen a small surge of really amazing production being pumped out by Hypnotists such as Richard Nongard, Sean Michael Andrews, Igor Ledochowski and a few others who’s name I forget at the moment. These have been the leaders of the pack in so many words…until now. KC’s new product is by far the best product I’ve seen to date in terms of production quality and overall direction. (Sorry Sean, Richard & Igor. I still love you guys though)

It’s a good thing in my opinion as this should start to make others step up their game which can only equal better stuff down the road.

KC hired an actual production company to film, produce and direct this product and it shows from the moment you pop the first DVD in. The quality is high definition at best and the special effects are really great. Yes, he has special effects. There is one part where KC is talking about the different parts of the mind in hypnosis and splits into 3 different people to illustrate some different points. I know I’m not doing it justice so you’ll have to see it for yourself.

Here is a screen shot from the DVD so I can give you an idea of what I’m talking about. You’ll have to watch the DVDs to understand why KC has split himself into 3 different parts, but you will find a clue within the screen shot.

KC uses special effects to illustrate certain points and enhance the learning process.

There are also parts where KC is performing a technique and another KC will pop onto the screen in a different box and describe what he is doing step by step and a lot more. These effects are really cool, but they also serve a purpose as this project uses a lot of visual effects to get his point across and accelerate the learning process. Here is another screen shot to illustrate what I’m talking about so you can get a better picture.

KC will pop up from time to time and provide useful information in the middle of performing a technique.

Something else I enjoyed and those of you who are note takers will too is that KC uses a lot of text on screen during teaching. A nice combination of visual and auditory learning going on. The cool part though is that he leaves this text on the screen for a good amount of time which allows you to take notes without having to pause or rewind. It’s a small feature, but a nice one in my opinion. The DVD is similar to a book in many ways as KC structures the context like a book would by providing you a bullet point list and then going over each bullet point in more detail.

Another nice production feature is KC uses tons of visual examples to get his points across and teach the subject. This makes assimilating the information easy and fun as the visual aids help you to understand the information being presented.  My hats off to his production team as they have really put together a master piece in terms of taking a hypnosis product to the next level. You have to see it to truly understand what I’m talking about here.

Let’s Explore The Secrets of DVD 1

As I mentioned early in the review this project contains 2 DVDs with each one covering a wide array of topics. I also mentioned that KC really doesn’t touch on the subject of Instant and Rapid Inductions until the second disc, but there is an excellent reason why he is doing it this way.

Let me explain. Instant and Rapid Inductions are considered to be advanced techniques in this business. They are not hard to do once you understand how they work and in some cases a person can actually just copy what they see someone do and perform them, but usually with a very low success rate because they don’t understand many of the finer elements going on in the background, But still my point is these techniques aren’t hard if you understand some basic fundamentals about hypnosis.

I’m constantly telling people that the induction really is not you need to learn. It’s all the elements and processes that go on before the induction that allow for the induction to happen. Once this principal is understood then anything can become an induction. As most of you know, if you have ever seen an Instant and Rapid Induction training video, the presenter usually assumes that if you’re watching the DVD that you have a basic or advanced understanding of Hypnosis. They just assume this and so they don’t actually cover any fundamentals.

Hypnosis 101 – Always Start With A Strong Foundation

KC decided to take the approach that everyone watching his DVD may have no real experience in hypnosis or a basic understanding at best. As I mentioned in the last paragraph most people will have some type of basic understanding of Hypnosis before attempting these inductions, but what about the people who don’t? What happens if this DVD ends up in the hands of someone who has never actually studied Hypnosis? What would be the result of them attempting Inductions without basic fundamentals?

The answer would be people would be performing these techniques without proper training and instructions which could lead to sub-par performance or even worse. KC doesn’t want his name to be associated with these types of results. So how can a presenter avoid these mishaps and produce quality students?

The best way to avoid this is by making sure you provide a strong overview on Hypnosis fundamentals before even teaching the induction. Even if you’re advanced in Hypnosis it never hurts to go back to basics and refresh yourself on the fundamentals of Hypnosis. This is exactly what KC did with this project. He doesn’t provide a full training course on Hypnosis, but he does go over a lot of material and some that my trainings in the beginning didn’t even cover which I didn’t learn to later on.  So in many ways you are getting two products with this course: A DVD going over the fundamentals and a second one on Instant and Rapid Inductions.

Now I don’t want you to think that all fundamental trainings are created equal because they are not. There are some schools of thought better than others and KC has trained with some of the best and it shows. Some of his fundamental training can be considered advanced concepts and theories depending on who you train with in this business. Here are just a few of the topics covered by KC in Disc One.

KC has a wonderful teaching style and to be honest I wish I would have learned hypnosis from him years ago as it may have saved me tons of money and time asking questions. He has a unique way of taking the material and breaking it down into steps and then shows you how to put it all together.

KC has the ability to take information and flip it upside down and rearrange it to the point where you feel you’re learning something new even if you’ve been in this business for years.

How To Become An Expert In Rapid & Instant Inductions with Disc 2

Disc 2 kicks off right where KC left off on Disc 1 by finishing up the fundamentals which eventually leads up to KC teaching how to do Instant and Rapid Inductions.

Unlike some DVDs that go over every Hypnotic Induction in the book KC only covers a handful of inductions. Why? Because the simple truth is you don’t need to know every induction in the world to be an effective Hypnotist.

A good hypnotist should know the basics along with a couple of extra ones. KC discusses some of the most effective inductions which happen to be many of the ones that have made him famous on Youtube.

KC starts each induction by first explaining what type of induction he is about to use and then gives a demo on a volunteer. After the demo KC proceeds to explain exactly what he is doing, his thoughts and some of the processes going on behind the scene which you may not notice. Then after all of this he does the induction again with a walk through. Also, during certain inductions the infamous head of KC will pop up and provide some useful thoughts. Ah, the joys of special effects.

KC has a very systematic approach to teaching which is perfect because he is really good at taking big chuck thinking and breaking it down into smaller steps. I have no doubt by the time you’ve reached the induction part of this DVD you will have no problem performing any of them in part to the training and insights you received in disc 1.

Each induction is performed multiple times, some with different angles. The words are spoken clearly so you can hear exactly what KC is saying, and each action is performed smoothly. A result of KC fine tuning each induction. Another quick note to mention is that KC actually explains why these inductions work and what is going on within the body and mind of the client during an induction. This is a critical element in my opinion as it gives you unique insights other Hypnotists may not have.

In addition to learning Instant and Rapid Inductions KC also provides you all the information you need to know after the fact as well. Remember, what’s the point of the induction if you don’t have an outcome or some type of objective? KC covers these topics with the same detail as the induction. He provides demos of each technique and more than one in many cases.

Now, at the end of the DVD we get a real treat. KC takes a member of the production staff who has never experienced Hypnosis before and hypnotizes him right on the spot using the very techniques he teaches in the DVD. It was an entertaining moment and an ah ha moment in many ways as it’s a coming together of everything he teaches within this project. It’s the perfect ending to the DVD as he shows you this stuff works in the real world and not just in theory.

I know, you’re reading this review and thinking it sounds like any other review, but trust me when I say this DVD is truly a work of art and KC should be applauded for the time and effort he has put into this project. You can tell from the production and little details all throughout the DVD that this product was made with a lot of love. KC could have put out another product that was just so so, but instead he made sure he came into this game with all guns firing. (I’m pretty sure he doesn’t own any guns and if he did they would be hypno guns and not real ones)

My Thoughts On What Could Have Been Better

This is going to be a hard section for me to write because I had a hard time finding flaws with this project. I truly believe that no product is perfect and I try my best to give you, my readers a good balance of the good and the bad because I want my reviews to be accurate. Either way, here are a few things I thought could be improved on, added or better in my opinion.

First off, this DVD is really good and the production is so good, but the cover art isn’t the greatest in my opinion. To me, it doesn’t have the impact I would like to see on a project of this caliber. I know this has nothing to do with content, but I think it could give him an edge in the marketplace from a marketing stand point and help to balance out the whole project.

Secondly, I would have really liked to see some street hypnosis involved in this project. KC is known for his street hypnosis work so it would have been nice to see him take some of his moves to the street. Even if he just inserted clips of him performing the inductions and various other techniques it would have been nice.  You can apply everything you learn to street hypnosis, but KC doesn’t do any impromptu Hypnosis except for at the end of disc 2 when he hypnotizes a member of the production staff on the spot.

Thirdly, as well as KC teaches I would have liked to seen him cover the issue of confidence in relation to inductions a little more. This seems  to be a major issue with a lot of people learning inductions. Once again, I believe his method of teaching and breaking down steps will provide students the confidence needed, but it would have been nice to see a little more of that in this project.

After watching this product two different times I couldn’t spot any technical, video or audio errors and I can’t fault KC for some of the stuff I would have liked to see more of in his project. There is no such thing as a project that can satisfy everyone. All we can do is put our best foot forward and hope the products we put out better the community and produce better Hypnotists.

The Conclusion

I’m sorry this was a long review to read, but this was one of the hardest reviews I’ve had to write. It usually doesn’t take me long to write a review, but this project was so good that I wanted to really capture the essence of it within my words. Did I accomplish this feat? Only time will tell in the end. I’m truly honored to have been able to review this product as it makes all those days and nights of reviewing awful products worth it. Just so you know I review a lot of products, but only good ones get the honor of a written review.

If you’re looking for a complete training on Instant and Rapid Inductions then I would give this DVD a shot. You get all the stuff you need to know before the inductions, the inductions and the stuff you need to know after the inductions. KC has a warm confidence which comes across on the screen which will make learning easy and fun. I have no doubt that you’ll be able to successfully go out and use these techniques the moment you finish watching the DVD. The key is that you actually go out and practice because as I say practice makes perfect and I know KC believes the same.

Let’s Get Down To The Basics

I first heard about Jeffrey Stephens through Nathan Thomas one day while him and I were on Skype masterminding our plans to take over the world. Yep, you guessed it. I watched WAY too much Pinky and the Brain growing up.

During our talk Nathan was telling me about his friend who was getting really amazing results and doing some really awesome things with hypnosis. The one thing that intrigued me the most was his claim that he could get anyone to become a non smoker within 20 min. For anyone out there who actually see’s clients you know this is a very BOLD claim. A claim so BIG and BOLD that it got the attention of  Igor.

The story goes that Nathan talked to Igor about Jeffrey Stephens and then the next thing you know Jeffrey Stephens was on a plane on his way to Las Vegas to attend one of Igor’s rare live training events which was paid for by Igor. That is one hell of a first impression in my opinion.

I wonder where my first class ticket to Vegas is?

Well a few months ago Jeffrey released his first hypnosis training project which was a video recording of a hypnosis workshop he put on for a number of students. Due to being busy working on my launch of TRANCED OUT at the time I didn’t get to purchase it when it was released, but a friend of mine did  and let me watch it for review purposes.

So let’s get right into the review of Jeffrey Stephens Weekend Hypnosis Workshop…

Jeffrey Stephens Weekend Hypnosis Workshop Review

This project is basically a collection of online videos which were recorded from a live event that Jeffrey put on. The video was broken up into 8 different videos with each one covering a number of different topics and subjects. Beside the videos Jeffrey also included a cool 50 page manual filled with tons of techniques and step by step instructions to help you get the most out of the training videos. Beside the videos and the manual you also get a masterclass Jeffrey did with Igor and a few other cool bonuses which you can learn about on his sales page.

BTW, This hypnosis training is completely digital just so you know. This means you get instant online access to it once you purchase it. This isn’t a physical product that is shipped to you. I just wanted to make sure I mentioned that little detail.

The Production

Now, for those of you who are into production value and enjoy movie level editing then you may be a little let down. The videos are your standard online videos and don’t have any special Hollywood qualities or effects. For the most part this is a pretty cut and dry hypnosis training course. So while the production of the videos won’t win Jeffrey any awards the content he provides is solid and to my surprise, quite unique.

The Content

The first thing you will notice is that he has a very commanding presence. There is NO doubt in my mind that Jeffrey believes himself to be the BEST hypnotist in the world. I have said this before and I’ll say it again. If you don’t have confidence you don’t have ANYTHING!

Jeffrey isn’t an academic teacher by any means, but his love and passion for this profession come through every word he speaks. He has a very laid back style and doesn’t believe in censoring himself one bit. I’m not talking about cussing or anything. I just mean he speaks his mind when he wants and doesn’t hold back  just because it’s the socially accepted thing to do. He loves hypnosis, uses it all the time, attempts fun and new things with it and isn’t afraid to tell you so.

Jeffrey covers a massive amount of techniques, topics and subjects, but begins the class with a nice strong hypnotic foundation by talking about Context, Intent, Compliance and Congruity. As Jeffrey speaks on these subjects you can tell that they play a major role in the work he does and that they are the support beams of his hypnotic belief system. You’ll hear him talk about these principals throughout the entire training and with good reason.

The Intent and Context

The intent you have is your outcome, your goal. Another way to say this would be your surety of outcome or the absence of doubt. One example would be knowing 100 percent without a doubt that you are going to hypnotize this person, allow them to have a good time and exit the trance feeling great. It’s critical to know your intent before you even begin. This will serve as your subconscious guide in many ways. The context is basically anything that gets the subject mentally examining what they know about hypnosis.

These two principals set the stage in so many words and when understood properly will give you a strong hypnotic foundation. Jeffrey  goes over these two principals more times then I would like, but I guess he wanted to make sure his audience/students understood how important they are for long term success.

Compliance: Are They Following Your Instructions?

Jeffrey then begins to cover the concept of compliance which is something I pay a lot of attention too when I work with people. Compliance is basically having the subject follow your instructions. This can be done in a number of different ways which he talks about on the videos. Compliance makes sure your subject is following your instructions, listening to you and also helps to build rapport. I never move on with hypnotizing anyone unless compliance is there first. From compliance Jeffrey touches on the subject of  CONGRUITY.

Congruity: Do Your Words Reflect Your Actions?

A simple way to define CONGRUITY is basically when your physiology matches your spoken words. For instance, if you are speaking about confidence, but don’t stand up straight or look at your audience your may come off as not being congruence because your body doesn’t match what your saying. It’s important for your words and actions to speak the same language. Many people believe that are spoken words only make up about 7 percent of our total communication. This is a very important skill for new hypnotist to learn.

Beside those topics Jeffrey also covers subjects ranging from Instant Inductions, Super Suggestions, Complex Deepeners, Hypnotic Phenomena, Change Work, How to deal with smokers, Weight Loss, Safety and a number of other techniques which can be used for almost any situation when working with a client/subject.

Each of the different topics are covered in detail and backed up with tons of personal examples as well as detailed demonstrations of each technique on members of his audience.

Inside The Box or Outside The Box

Now, as I mentioned Jeffrey is quite confident in his approach and very blunt.  Jeffrey let’s it be known that he does not believe in just using hypnosis in an office or a stage or on the street. Jeffrey believes that hypnosis should be used everywhere and that one of the WORST things you can do is waste a TRANCE state. I say trance state because Jeffrey does not believe Hypnosis is trance and vice versa. Jeffrey also doesn’t believe in the idea of self hypnosis. It’s outside of the box thinking like this that I enjoy. I really believe that you need to be exposed to different trains of thoughts if you want to become great at hypnosis.

Jeffrey believes that hypnosis should be fun and that your main purpose The Hypnotist is to make sure people are happy and have a good time after working with you.  Overall his approach is very simple which is a nice change of pace from those out there who want to make something which is so simple so confusion and complicated.

Many of the techniques including in the course such as the “Golden Box” and the “Magic Mirror” can work with almost any type of problem your client may have. They are quick, effective and easy to remember.

My Pet Peeves With This Training

As you can tell from the review I have enjoyed this hypnosis training. I’ve taken more then one golden nugget from this course which is rare nowadays. Still, I wouldn’t feel right calling this a review unless I also listed a few of my pet peeves with this project. Please keep in mind that everyone has different taste and opinions on hypnosis trainings and the statements I’m about to make are just my own personal opinions.

I had to put that in writing so die hard Jeffrey Stephens fans don’t throw rocks at me while I walk the streets.

My biggest problem with this product is the amount of talking Jeffrey does on this course. I know, you’re thinking what the hell are you talking about Josh? Obviously Jeffrey does a lot of talking on the program as he is teaching it, but there are parts on the program where Jeffrey just seems to go off topic and takes forever to move on to the next section.

Most of these moments start off with good intentions, but eventually they just seem to become long stories which lead nowhere in my opinion. There are only a few moments like this during the entire training, but those few moments just seemed to go on forever for me. Most of these moments arrive from answering questions from students in the class and the beginning of the answer usually provides some good insight.

Still, there were times where it felt as if he answered the question pretty damn good and he should have moved on to the next section. Another example would be when someone goes off on a rant and just keeps going instead of eventually moving on.

I know some people don’t mind that type of stuff, but this was just one pet peeve for me. Don’t misunderstand me either because the majority of this program is pure content, but I had to mention it as it was just something that bothered me.

The other problem which may turn some people off is how candid Jeff is with the audience. Jeffrey loves using hypnosis and he makes no excuses for it. Some of his experiences and stories he shares may offend certain Hypnotists because Jeffery admits to using hypnosis in some very “interesting ways”. Now don’t get me wrong as he does practice safety, but just a warning for those of you who are very serious about this professional. If you are going to watch this training you NEED to keep an open mind and have a sense of humor as Jeffrey does talk about some things that are outside the box.

The Conclusion Of This Review

Overall, this is a very complete training if you’re looking to learn how to hypnotize people or just looking to add a new technique or two to your hypnotic toolbox. The videos along with the manual walks you through each step of Jeffrey’s approach. A good way to look at how this training program is set up is to think of it as a jig saw puzzle. Each piece of the puzzle is important to seeing the BIG picture. Once you take those pieces and start to put the puzzle together the picture begins to make sense and by the end you have the COMPLETE picture.

No knowledge or prior experience is needed for this training even though some prior hypnosis training won’t hurt. Jeffrey’s approach is very simple  so if your looking for complex systems, deeper meanings and all that stuff then this course isn’t for you. Jeffrey has a confident style which will appeal to some and not others, but the fact remains the guy knows his stuff and everyone could take a page out of his book as far as his confidence level goes.  If you are a Street Hypnotist, Stage Hypnotist or Clinical Hypnotist you’ll get something out of this course in my opinion.

P.S. I didn’t really touch on the manual that Jeffrey includes with this video training course, but it’s a awesome resource. I would say about 96% of the material Jeffrey covers in the course is laid out in the manual. You’ll get step by step instructions for all the techniques he mentions in the video as well as his entire hypnotic process laid out.

So what is the most important skill a Hypnotist can have in their possession? Is It the newest technique? Is it the ability to perform instant and rapid inductions? Is it knowing the exactly what to say?

None of the above is the correct answer. So what is the mystery skill that every Hypnotist needs to have? Well, if you are paying attention and if you noticed the title of this post then the correct answer would be…Confident.

Without a doubt confidence is the number one skill every Hypnotist needs. So why is confidence so important? First off, let’s look at what Hypnosis is exactly. Hypnosis is nothing more then the subconscious communication between your clients subconscious and your subconscious. Yes, I know this isn’t the technical definition of Hypnosis, but just follow me for a moment.

Are You Confident In Your Ability?

People have the ability to pick up little cues which we can’t notice on the conscious level, but the subconscious can. When you are hypnotizing someone you must project confidence or the other person’s subconscious will not allow you to communicate with that person on the same level as someone who projects confidence. When you are confident you come off as the expert, the guy who knows what he is doing.  This communicates a lot on a unconscious level to the other person.

Think about this for a moment. Would you let a doctor who didn’t seem “Confident” operate on you? Would you let someone teach you to drive if they don’t seem “confident” they can drive? The truth of the matter is that people feel comfortable and are attracted to people who are confident. Now in terms of Hypnosis would you really let a Hypnotist hypnotize you if they don’t seem confident?

Ok, Ok…I think you got the point here. Confidence is critically to your success. Still, something has always bothered me as a Hypnotist and a Hypnosis Instructor. If confidence is so important then how come almost 90 percent of the Hypnosis Schools and Training completely leave this subject untouched. They teach you techniques, inductions, scripts and none of this matters because without having the confidence to apply what you learn and the ability to sub communicate confident you will NEVER be an effective Hypnotist.

Personally I think I know why this skill is rarely touched on by most Hypnosis Schools and Training. It’s one thing to tell a person to be confident and project confidence, but the real question is how do you teach someone to become confident inside and project it outward step by step? I mean, what exactly does “you have to be more confident” mean really? I have yet to find a course or product that actually teaches Hypnotist in a step by step system how to become more confident.

Yes…we have self hypnosis CD’s and personal development books on the subject but none of them ever give you the ‘Big Picture’ of it all. I actually got access to the course a few weeks ago and I must say it’s a breath of fresh air. Why? Well, this project discusses a subject that is rarely touched on in the hypnosis world. It’s nice to check out a project that isn’t about weight loss, self hypnosis or stop smoking.  It’s a fresh perspective which is much needed in the world of Hypnotism. Another nice benefit of this product is that it actually provides value to the customer. Confidence is something all Hypnotist need to know if they want to be successful. This is something you can apply to your personal & professional life.

Another nice feature that some may not pick up upon is that Nathan combined the teachings of both NLP and Hypnosis to tackle this subject. Nathan is smart enough to understand that the teachings of Hypnosis provide benefit to the subject of building confidence, but it’s not the sole expert on the subject. NLP isn’t the sole expert on the subject either, but you combine both of them and you have a pretty powerful combination. So when you get into the main part of the course which is the step by step guide you’ll notice a nice combination of NLP teachings and Hypnosis Teachings.

Now, don’t get scared if you don’t know anything about NLP because I don’t study NLP myself and I was able to figure it all out. I have nothing against NLP, but I have just never gotten around to studying the subject. I know a little bit about it, but a knowledge of it isn’t needed to enjoy this program.

Nathan was also nice enough to include a transcript of all the audio’s and video and this is critical I think. One of the reasons is some people learn better from reading and then some people just like to have a written version of what was said laying around. Nathan does talk a little fast sometimes so you may find the transcripts to be a great resource.

What Included In The Confident Hypnotist Program

As I mentioned above the Confident Hypnotist Program is actually a combination of different pieces of content which create the full course. Here is a small breakdown of each piece of content and a few little things I noticed about each piece of content.

• The Ultimate Confidence Secrets – This is the main meat of the course in my opinion. This would be considered your step by step guide.  It also contains some graphs which I found to be very helpful. So if you purchase the course I would start on this one first.

• The Utilization Audio -I found this to be a really great piece of content and one that actually evolves the program. While the Confident Hypnotist is designed to help you become confident you have to ask yourself what to do after the fact. This audio will help you understand how Utilization can be a powerful tool to have in case something goes wrong. Now, to pull this off you will need confidence so it’s a nice addition to the program. Nathan provides clear cut examples and give you step by step instructions on to fully take advantage of this technique.

• Interview With William May – William May is another good friend of mine and an expert at Conversational Hypnosis. I personally found this to be my favorite part of the program. One reason is because the Interview discusses a massive amount of different topics related to confident. The second reason is because this recording tends to really get you thinking about confidence in a way you may never have thought of. William gets you thinking about the good and the bad and gives a lot of great examples. I would recommend you listen to this audio second after the Ultimate Confidence Secrets

• The Instant Induction Inner Game – This is a very useful power point presentation…especially for newcomers who have had trouble with their first induction. Confidence is highly importance when it comes to Inductions. In reality, the induction really doesn’t exist and the other thing going on is the subconscious communication between you and the other person. I really think a lot of people will find this useful. This doesn’t actually teach you step by step how to do an induction but more of an overall on the processes behind the actual induction.

• Subconscious Confidence – This is a a self hypnosis audio Nathan produced to help install many of the unconscious processes of Confidence. This actually is a nice thing to have because confidence starts on the inside of us and Hypnosis helps us to make changes to our internal beliefs. Nathan has a very calming and relaxing voice which I think you will enjoy. I personally recommend listening to this last, but it can’t hurt you no matter what time you check it out.

• The Transcripts – These are really helpful for those of us that don’t like to listen to audio or just like to have a written resource. As far as I know all the transcript for all the above pieces of content will be available. I’m glad Nathan was able to get these made as he was having some problems with the person making the transcripts in the beginning.

• The Silent Hypnotist – This is a special bonus so I’m not going to keep this under wraps for now, but it’s some really great content you’ll enjoy.

So as  you can see Nathan has included a lot of content in this course. I could go into a lot more detail for each piece of content, but I don’t want to give all the beans away. Each piece of content is great on its own but when combined it makes for one hell of a complete course on becoming confident.  Each piece will build upon the foundation you receive in the main content and by the time your done you’ll have a complete and solid  understanding. Now, understanding is one thing so if you buy this course just make sure you take action on the stuff you learn. Knowledge without action is a waste of time in my opinion.

A Few Problems With The Confident Hypnotist

While I have enjoyed this course I wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t give you some of the pitfalls of the course as well. We all know that no course is perfect and to only talk about the good parts isn’t fair to you in my opinion. I believed the better informed you are, the better decisions you make.  So here are a few of the issues to me with Nathan Thomas’s The Confident Hypnotist program.

• Sound Quality – The sound quality of most of the audios is very low and hard to hear in my opinion. You have to turn your speakers up to a decent level to really hear.

• Lack of Instructions – I received an early copy of this program so Nathan may have decided to add this to the program when it is actually released. Since this is a digital product it consist of many different pieces of content. So without instructions on what to listen to, read or watch first you really don’t have any idea where to start. Now most people will figure it out by playing around with the different tracks so it’s not a huge problem. Still…It would have been nice to know which direction the author intended us to take with the program.

As you can tell none of these issues are anything that would stop you from enjoying the program, but they are small issues none the less. Either way we all know content is king and that is what we really care about.

The Conclusion Of The Review

In closing The Confident Hypnotist Is A Really Awesome Program that needed to be created in my opinion. We have so many new Hypnotists coming into our profession lacking the knowledge of this skill. This isn’t just a skill for your Hypnosis career its a skill for your personal life as well.

So many people focus on technique when that isn’t the answer. My business partner and friend Taylor Sherman who is an expert on teaching Confidence as well once told me something that I think applies here. He told me before you can win the game on the outside you have to win the game on the inside. Obviously he is talking about developing your inner confidence.

With all of this being said is Nathan’s Program perfect or the end all for this subject…No, it’s not, but it does give you the tools and resources needed to get where you need to go. You get a complete education on the subject as well as the step by step system to install killer confidence in yourself, but at the end of the day you will still have to take action on the information you learn. Why I Didn’t Buy The Expert Persuader Course The First Time Around

Now, I came across this course before, but I decided to pass on it a few months ago. To be honest with all of you, I really didn’t give the course a fair chance. I remember the first time I ever visited Mike’s sales page and saw the video with the squirrel…I just laughed.

When you think of becoming an Expert Persuader, you don’t think to see a squirrel so it just threw me off a little. It’s not that I don’t like squirrels, but it just seemed odd and so I never read the sales copy or discovered what his course was all about.

I also hated the old name of the course which was How To Be A Master Persuasion Wizard. Maybe I had to many diet sodas that night, but their was just something funny about Mike’s sales page. The other reason was I just didn’t know enough about Mike Lee and the quality of his product. You guys know I’m very picky when it comes to courses. Ever since Igor came out with his conversational hypnosis program we have had clone after clone pop up trying to be the next big conversational hypnosis course. To be blunt, most of them just suck.

A Sad Day For The World of Hypnosis

I’m not trying to be mean, but it is what it is. The worst of them is ‘Black Ops Hypnosis’ in my opinion. I’ve made many mistakes in my life. I don’t regret any of them because they have helped to make me the person I am today, but I do wish I could take back ever buying that course. I seriously wish I could build a time machine, travel back and slap myself before buying ‘Black Ops Hypnosis’.

That course has no value what so ever and the only reason people promote it is because he pays his promoters good. In terms of quality that product is something you should run away from.  It’s because of courses like ‘Black Ops Hypnosis’ that I have trouble trusting any course by it’s statements. I tend to only purchase courses other people I trust recommend. Most of the time this does allow me to only focus on quality stuff, but once in a while some really good courses slip through my finger tips.

I ended up judging Mike’s course before I even did any research. I never gave it a fair chance and I have since learned that was a very silly thing to do and not very professional on my part. Like me, Nathan’s not a guy to recommend something unless it’s really a cut above the rest. We both strive to only study the best and get rid of the rest…Did I just rhyme? Either way, after receiving that rather short and to the point e-mail from Nathan I decided to take his advice and give Mike’s course a shot.

How To Be An Expert Persuader In 20 Days Or Less Is Actually Quite Good!

The moment I opened the main E-Book of  ‘How To Be A Expert Persuader In 20 Days or Less‘ and started reading the course, I knew Nathan led me down the right path and I made a smart decision.  This course is really quite good for a digital product. You guys know I like Igor’s stuff, but this course is pretty damn close.

Mike’s story of how he transformed himself from the guy no one talked to into the man who everyone looks up to and begs to be friends with really spoke to me. You may not believe me, but I wasn’t the confident Hypnotist you see before you. I was picked on a lot growing up and had a hard time fitting in. So I know exactly what it felt like to be the guy no one talked too. The guy made fun of because I spoke differently and couldn’t afford name brand shoes…but I overcame it just as Mike did.

Mike is very clear and let’s it be known that the only thing stopping you from being the person you want is yourself. We have the power to change and we should use that power if it’s in our best interest and well-being. One of the things I really like about Mike is that he breaks everything down clearly, step by step. He actually takes you by the hand and tells you what you need to do.

I was thinking about putting a few of the things you’ll learn from his course in his e-mail, but then I thought why? Most of you reading this are going to click the link and check his sales page out which gives all the info so I’ll let you read it for yourselves.

A nice feature How To Be A Expert Persuader In 20 Days or Less is that he teaches you Persuasion and Influence pass Hypnosis. He shows you how to extend this stuff into the real world and not just between you and the client. Btw, when I say Persuasion and Influence I’m not talking about it in a negative way. Only good intention, positive type of stuff.  The better your life, better others type of stuff.

It’s funny just how easy he makes it, actually. It’s kind of like having a road map to peoples’ psychological triggers, which you can just look up and push at will. In the right hands, this is powerful information which you can really do some good with – and I bet you can imagine what skills like these will do for your business and personal life! Even with my extensive knowledge on the subjects I’ve still learned some new things which I’m already starting to apply in my life and business.

I’m almost finished with the E-book and so far I don’t have one bad thing to say about the course. To be honest, I feel really bad that I dismissed this course so easily in the beginning because I can tell Mike put a lot of hard work, time and experience into this project. I can only imagine what I would feel like if someone took one quick look at my upcoming Instant and Rapid Induction Course and decided it was garbage just because of a image on my sales page.

I bet many of you have run across a covert or conversational hypnosis blog I’m sure. They are everywhere and they are hard to miss. It also seems like every new e-book coming out that deals with hypnosis has the word ‘Covert‘ in the title.

I also have to be honest with everyone and let them know that there are only a few actual Hypnotists who advertise using the term Covert Hypnosis or Conversational Hypnosis that are credible in my opinion.

One of them is hypnotist, author and trainer Kevin Hogan. The other hypnotist is the reason I’m writing this review and his name is Igor Ledochowski, the creator of the program called The Power of Conversational Hypnosis.

What is Conversational Hypnosis?

What is Conversational Hypnosis? It’s a style of hypnosis which lets you hypnotize, influence and persuade people using nothing more than your voice and the language you use. A Hypnotist by the name of Milton Erickson is credited with creating this style of hypnotherapy. Technically it works by embedded suggestions and other language patterns within confusing statements which bypass conscious thinking.

This isn’t the prettiest definition, but a simple and down to earth explanation. Things such as vocal tone, body movement, pacing and leading all combine to create a very effective style of hypnosis. When you are trained properly in Conversational Hypnosis  you literally can change peoples mind for the better using these two powerful tools which all of us process.

As Hypnotists our goal is to use Conversational Hypnosis techniques to bring about the change that the client is looking for. You’ll hear a lot of people claim this style of Hypnosis is mind control and I say they are all wrong. Conversational Hypnosis is a process just like normal hypnosis or direct style hypnosis. The only difference is the way we achieve trance compared to more direct, induction based styles.

Conversational Hypnosis Is Everywhere

You know, I bet if you just took a moment and really studied the words people are using you would begin to notice the changes taking place in you as you listen to, and pay full attention to what they are saying.

It’s strange, because you might think you came up with the idea, or it was your choice to vote or make a decision, but was it? These techniques are so hard to catch and are so natural sounding that I have actually been using them in this review. Did you catch them? If so, good for you. If not, this course can help you to understand this process.

Let me ask you a question, which may seem a little odd, but answer it for me in your head. Do you want to be liked? I know its a strange question for me to ask, but think about it now, and as you do, you may start to remember that at some point in your life you were in a situation… Maybe you were with a group of friends or maybe you we’re out at a bar trying to meet someone new.

Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and asked them to do something that they didn’t want to? But the more you talked to them, the more they opened up and finally agreed to do whatever it was you asked? If you have done something like this or even had someone accept your point of view, you were using hypnosis.

Now, let me ask you this, if you were able to persuade a person here and there why can’t you do it all the time?

In your mind, you may have thought that’s just how things go, but did you ever just stop and consider that there may be an actually process or structure to what you did? The truth is there is, and that is what you will learn. You’ll learn how to trigger “trance” on cue, set “anchors” and most importantly of all, help people.

You see, conversational hypnosis isn’t about controlling people or making people be your slave. It’s about being able to just walk up to a friend who may not be feeling well, or feeling down, and using just your words to make them feel better. Conversational Hypnosis is meant to help people get over the problem they are facing and get back to normal life.

The skills you’ll learn in this course can literally change the outcome of a persons day.

A Real Life Example of Conversational Hypnosis In Action

Here is a true story about how I used conversational hypnosis to help change my friends life around. Due to the natural of this story, I will change my friends name to Sue.

Sue called me about a month after I completed this course with some bad news. She had just lost her job because her employer was making cut backs. The worst part of all of this is she just bought her first home. She was crying on the phone. Sue had worked there for almost 6 years, and she was actually pretty frantic, asking me what she was going to do? How was she going to pay her mortgage and so on?

It was hard for me to get a word in between her sobs, but then something strange happened. In an almost unconscious fashion, I began talking to her, and all the stuff I learned from Igor’s course just kicked into gear as if I went into automatic mode. I couldn’t believe it!  (I’ll explain why I think this happened in a moment). I took control of the conversation and before you knew it Sue had stopped crying and everything about her changed for the better.

A few minutes before she was crying, talking about how life wasn’t fair and how she couldn’t afford the house, and so on. I swear, within just a couple of minutes she was talking about how this was the best thing that could happen to her and that this could be the start of better things to come. It blew my mind how quickly a person could change, and I’m a hypnotist! I help people change all the time. What would take me a hour to do, normally, took only a few moments.

During the last minute of the conversation she actually got mad at me for suggesting it was my idea for her to move on to better things. Why? Because the techniques I use actually allow you to make it seem that they came up with the idea themselves. This is powerful because this allows you to lead a conversation, thus controlling where it goes, while having the person think its there own idea.

Think about this! Whatever you can get a person to imagine is perceived by them as being their own thought and therefore they do not resist it!

As Hypnotists this one technique can enhance our session by leaps and bounds. We have all had the client that just didn’t respond the way we would have liked. The client that for whatever reason doesn’t seem to get the same benefit from hypnosis as other people. Maybe it’s due to lack of desire or motivation, but for whatever reason direct styles of inductions just don’t work with this type of client.

A technique Igor teaches called Rapport Hooks allows you to create a suggestion and have the client think it was their own idea. This is powerful because when a client thinks they came up with the idea or suggestion themselves there is no resistant because it’s their own idea. People reject what others say all the time, but ask yourself how many times have you rejected a great idea you came up with yourself?

Unconscious Learning Is The Key To Conscious Understanding

Now I mentioned how I seemed to “Trance Out” during the phone call. It was as if I went into this trance and everything happened on its own. After I thought about it I believe I know what happened. During the whole course, Igor uses Conversational Hypnosis to prove how easily it can be weaved into normal everyday conversation. Its odd. Its as if, I drift off into my own mind and come back to find the whole disc is over, yet I remember the lesson. Its similar to zoning out on the highway, yet you still arrive at your destination.

Igor has a very hypnotic voice which actually bothered me a little in the beginning because I like to actively listen, but with Igor’s program you will find yourself learning on a unconscious level. The entire course is a masterful example of conversational hypnosis being used without even knowing it.

I did feel overwhelmed in the beginning though, as his course is massive. 12 Audio CDs, bonus handouts, Language pattern Cards and a giant 650 page manual. In case you are wondering the manual is basically the entire transcript of the audio program with a lot of extra stuff like language pattern cards and other goodies. The manual being a transcript is great for a few reasons. One of them is people who like to read more then listening can treat the manual as a book and you can actually study the way Igor uses suggestions, phases and patterns within the course. You’ll find the last item works better after you have gone through the course at least once.

The Power of Conversational Hypnosis Isn’t Some Overnight Course

Now, this isn’t a fluff course that just covers a certain aspect of conversational hypnosis. This also isn’t some learn how to control the minds of everyone you know. The sales copy may make it seem that way, but I promise you this course is a complete and I do mean complete course on Conversational Hypnosis. You start at the beginning and work your way to the more advanced stuff.

Let me give you an example to help put this all in place for you. Milton Erickson has a bunch of different books out and a other Hypnotists have even more books about Milton Erickson. To truly learn and understand Erickson you would have to read many and I do mean many books on the subject. Well, The Power of Conversational Hypnosis takes all that information and puts it into one program.

Now, I’m not saying you shouldn’t read books by Erickson or others because you can still gain a lot of great insight, but if you want a complete crash course on Conversational Hypnosis then look no further. Another nice treat is that Igor has updated the teachings of Erickson and brought them up to a more modern standard while still upholding the teachings that made Conversational Hypnosis so powerful.

You may be one of those students who can go through an entire program in a night, but this isn’t one of those courses. As I mentioned the course is massive and packs a lot of content into each disc. I highly recommend you only listen to one disc a day and make sure to do each practice technique at the end of the disc. This will help you to put into action many of the new concepts and techniques you are learning.

I started to notice a difference a week or two in my practice after completing the course. I’ve always been a direct style hypnotist also known as the Dave Elman style, but unconsciously noticed myself using language patterns and weaving suggestions together in a very conversational manner. I noticed I was no longer breaking sessions down into steps  such as pre-talk, inductions and etc. It’s as if my whole session was a conversation. I didn’t even notice I was doing this until I watched some of my tapes from client sessions. I also noticed a much different client at the end. The client seemed to be much more motivated and seemed to have a deeper understanding. This wasn’t the case for every client as not every client will respond the same, but I notice very massive changes in my clients and the overall flow of the session.

Can you imagine what it would be like to actually know what your client is going through? To experience it in a way that is more than just them talking to you about their problems they are seeing you for. As you know, when you have a better understanding of the problem you are better able to work with it and this one technique was worth the price of my investment this course.

I view any good product I buy as a investment, because I plan to use what I learn to either attract new clients or increase my success with my current clients, which lead to referrals which leads to keeping my door opened for business. By the way, these techniques can be used to increase referrals too. Basically you can ask for them, but the client will think its their idea to offer you referrals. How good is that?

The Power of Conversational Hypnosis Has Flaws!

Now, like any course there are always some down sides. No course is perfect, even though it was hard for me to find some flaws. Overall, after looking back at The Power of Conversational Hypnosis I found a few things which could have been improved in my opinion.

The first thing that I thought could have made the course even better would have been some real life case transcripts or audio sessions with clients. Don’t get me wrong as Igor Ledochowski provides plenty of examples, but for me personally I would have liked to seen, read or heard some real case studies. I tend to learn better that way, but the few real case studies provided did help me a lot.

Now, the next item is more personally for me. I consider myself to be a very visual person and the majority of Igor’s course is Audio and Text. I would have loved to see some video just to break things up a bit. I have recently seen video of Igor online teaching some of his workshops, but I would have enjoyed seeing Igor on video teaching as it gives me someone for my eyes to focus.

So maybe not a real flaw, but something I would have liked to see. The advantage of using audio though is that is causes you to listen to what he is saying and I have to admit you do start to notice words in a different light when you take the visual factor out. Still, I would have liked to see some video.

Now, the third issue is my biggest problem with the course and that is the way he promotes his course on his sales letter.

Obvious, his course sells and it sells well as it’s one of the most bought Hypnosis courses in the  world, but I’m not a fan of Igor Ledochowski method of marketing his course. If you read his sales letter you will see he refers a lot to controlling people, mind control and all of this type of stuff. Personally as a businessman myself I understand from a marketing stanpoint why he does this. It causes people to wonder and thoughts to stir.

It’s a tactic to generate more sales and there is nothing wrong with getting more sales as that is one of the main purposes of creating and selling a product. Do I think it was the best decision by Igor? I really don’t think it was his best move, but at the end of the day his sales volume speaks as this is one of the most popular Hypnosis Trainings online.

Personally, I feel the course is SO GOOD that it could be promoted on that merit alone. In my opinion, some very serious Hypnotist overlook this course because of the sales copy. Hell, I overlooked it for years until a good friend kept telling me how good it was. I took a leap of faith and it paid off for me. I feel he could focus on more of the positive benefits instead of the whole mind control theme. Do I think the sales letter was his best decision? I personally don’t, but then once again I’m not selling anything close to Igor’s number of sales. I think what saves the course is people take a leap and buy the course only to be shocked and amazed that the course is so good and filled with ethics and safety.

Igor Ledochowski is a huge believer in only using Conversational Hypnosis to help people and he is always mentioning the use of ethics when practicing this style of hypnosis. As I said the ad copy may make it seem like it’s all about Mind Control and etc, but I promise you this isn’t the case.

From the start of the course to the end Igor talks about morals and ethics and that Conversational Hypnosis should only be used in the proper context and so on. In my opinion, I would say this course is closer to a clinical training program for Conversational Hypnosis. So while this advertising may throw some of you off, don’t let that keep you from experiencing this great course. I truly believe every Hypnotist could benefit from this course.

The Power of Conversational Hypnosis Review Conclusion

All in all, Igor Ledochowski  has created a well done, well executed, in depth course on Conversational hypnosis. I’m so glad that my friend told me about this course because it has made me a better Hypnotist. I have now learned how to combine my direct style of hypnosis with Conversational Hypnosis for results that are out of this world. I actually think this is my review where I endorse a product 100 percent.

I’ve been at this hypnosis thing for a while and have built quite a following through my blog and I’m not the type of person to just throw all my credibility out the window. It took me a long time to build my credibility and I wouldn’t risk it by recommending some crappy product. Serious Hypnotists who buy this course will discover a whole new way of working with clients and bringing power into their own lives.

Now, besides just using Conversational Hypnosis with clients it can also be used to enhance your own life. Just knowing and understanding Conversational Hypnosis will give you an advantage in life. In terms of buying a car, selling products, confidence, meeting people and so on. Igor also shares some really great rapport building techniques which can be applied to all aspects of life such as relationships, networking, sales, referrals and more. In the end, The Power of Conversational will show you how to maximize your natural abilities, which leads to you maximizing your life in the process as it has done for me.

Hypnosis Happens: Impromptu Hypnosis Lecture Review

So what is hypnosis and how does hypnosis happen? The truth of the matter is depending on who you ask you’ll get a different answer each time. For as long as hypnosis has been around we have yet to come to a unified agreement as a profession on this question.

Why Is Hypnosis So Confusing To Some?

So why, when hypnosis has been around for so long are people still so confused when it comes to hypnosis? I personally believe the problem is that many of the hypnosis trainers in our profession try to make hypnosis out to be more than what it is, to make it larger than life. They try to add things on and create big words to impress their students and with each new generation of students the ideas and principals of hypnosis, true hypnosis becomes lost.

Heck, let’s be honest and admit that most hypnosis training is really nothing more than a clone of the last person they learned from. The only difference is that the teacher adds his own style and ideas to techniques he has already learned.

Hypnosis Happens isn’t some massive certification course and it doesn’t focus on one particular subject or niche of hypnosis. Instead, it’s Reg in front of class breaking hypnosis down to it’s simplest and purest elements. No complex definitions or long drawn out speeches. No sales pitches or talks about how great he is at hypnosis. Reg teaches you hypnosis in a simple and easy to understand manner in a language most of us understand, simple plain English. This is important because Reg goes right into teaching the moment the DVD starts and doesn’t sugar coat a thing. Reg has a way of taken a subject and giving you the main stuff you need to know within moments to put it to work for you.

Reg doesn’t spend a lot of time going over each detail and when I first started to watch my review copy I got a little bit worried. I thought, for a brief second that this was going to be some rushed course, but the truth is that the more I watched the more I began to notice I was being fed PURE HYPNOSIS KNOWLEDGE and no fluff. If your new to hypnosis, you will relate to this statement more than most. If  you are going to be an effective Hypnotist you must shift through the garbage and find the gems. So a word of warning before you purchase this DVD. If your looking for long drawn out explanations and definitions don’t purchase this DVD. This DVD is for serious hypnotists who want to learn real world techniques.

Finally A DVD That Makes Me Think!

Now, just because Reg cuts through the crap isn’t the only reason I’m recommending this DVD. The other reason is that Reg isn’t a clone. During the course of Hypnosis Happens Reg gives his views and beliefs on hypnosis that differ from most traditional teachings of hypnosis. While I won’t spoil the fun for you Reg comes out and proclaims that

“Hypnosis Isn’t Self Hypnosis”

This is a bold statement as most schools of hypnosis teach that all hypnosis is self hypnosis and to be honest I follow that school of thought as well. A lot of it comes from my personal experiences with hypnosis, clients and my teachers who taught me. So the moment I heard Reg say that I didn’t agree with him at all, but I have to admit that the more I listened to Reg and his views on the subject a light bulb went off in my head. After some serious thinking I’m starting to rethink my beliefs on that issue. I’m a big believer in always expanding my mind and some of the stuff Reg Blackwood talks about in Hypnosis Happen will either have you yelling at the screen or opening your mind to new ways to view hypnosis and that is very refreshing in my opinion. Hell, I had about 4 different moments I started to think and reflect on what was said and for that alone I’m grateful.

What Does Hypnosis Happens Cover?

Now, Reg does go over some basic theories on Hypnosis Happens, but most of the information provided is stuff you can actually apply in the real world. Here are just a few of the topics Reg discusses:

I was very impressed with the Instant Induction potion of the DVD because Reg doesn’t show you hundreds of Inductions….he shows you the inductions that work! I believe he taught 4 different inductions which are the ones he has found through years of practice to be the most effective in the field. I say field, because this DVD can be used for office based Hypnotists or Impromptu & Street Hypnotists. His explanation of the Handshake induction is one of the best I’ve heard in a while and he teaches a very unique version which is similar to one I use, but I’m sure most of you out there have never seen before. It’s very quick and very effective.

What Could Have Been Better

The only real setback to this project in my opinion is that it does leave you wanted more of Reg’s teachings. There were parts where I wish he went into a little more explanation as I just wanted some more clarification. I would have also liked to have seen Reg with work some different people at the event instead of the main subject. Still, nothing that would keep me from investing in this project as this DVD is a solid investment for anyone new to hypnosis or just anyone who wants to add some new skills to their aserenal.

In Conclusion

This course isn’t going to teach you everything you need to know or how to run a successful practice and you won’t be certified by the end, but the one thing Hypnosis Happens will teach you is how to hypnotize  someone quickly and with confidence and last but not least it will give you a clear picture of what hypnosis is without all the bull.

While the first disc has some really great information. It’s the second disc that makes this product a must have. The second disc contains a rare, up close and personal video interview with the only living son of Dave Elman named H.L. Elman. This interview makes this product worth the cost just by it’s self. As far as I know, and I could be wrong. Dave Elman’s son has never done a video interview. If I’m wrong please correct me as I would love to get my hands on that as well.

Well, let’s get into the actually review and see what Sean Michael Andrews has done with this project. Sorry if it’s a little long, but I like to give you guys all the info I can.

Dave Elman Induction Review – Disc One

As I mentioned the Dave Elman Induction is a 2 disc project consisting of the first disc which is a look into the Elman induction, how to do it and how to troubleshoot the induction. One of the biggest issues with Hypnosis projects on DVD is the lack of video quality.  Sean has truly raised the bar with the quality of this DVD and when I mean quality. I mean picture and editing.

DVD 1 starts off with Sean Michael Andrews addresses us the watches from somewhere in Maryland I assume from the background. It’s a great scene as wherever he’s at has a lot of water, boats and others things going on in the background which add to the quality of the DVD. You feel as if your watching a movie the way Sean comes on to the screen and the camera is moving with him. The quality is top notch and the editing well done. After Sean addresses us the actual content begins. DVD 1 appears to be a collection of different workshops and events that Sean has put on over time dealing with the Elman induction. The first segment goes into the back story of Elman.

If you are completely new to Elman then this is a good starting point. Sean doesn’t give you every single detail, but he sums of Dave Elman and what he has done for our profession quite well. You learn how Elman got started in hypnosis, how he created the Elman Induction and what’s really cool is you get access to some really rare photos of Elman. I’m really into photos and it was pretty cool to see photos of Elman that I haven’t seen anywhere else. You also learn about the so called hypnosis war against fellow hypnotist Milton Erickson who was against Elman and would have liked to see him out of business. You’ll have to watch the DVDs to learn why Milton didn’t like Elman.

What Does Sean Michael Andrews Cover in Disc 1?

Around this point of the DVD Sean begins to go over the Dave Elman Induction and breaks down the different sections and steps to the Elman. Sean covers lots of content on this part. Here are just a few of the things Sean talks about on Disc 1.

• The Pre-Talk

• Permission to Touch

• How to use instant inductions along with the elman

• Eye Closure

• The “real” Elman induction which is only 1 to 2 min long

• Somnambulism and how to know when you got it and when you don’t

• Forgetting the numbers

• How to do a modified version of the Elman

• How to turn the Elman Induction into a group Induction & a lot more.

One of the best features of this DVD is that Sean gives lots of examples. As I mentioned earlier the DVD is always cutting to different footage of Sean working with clients. He uses real life footage for each part he talks about. The part which I think most people will find of value is the troubleshooting section. A lot of hypnotists new and old tend to have issues with this induction sometimes. Sean shows you exactly how to avoid them and if they do happen. He shows you how to handle them and to me that is the most value as that is the type of stuff I can start using in a hypnosis practice or with my clients.

So all in all discs one will teach you the Elman Induction, break it down into workable steps, teach you tricks and tips and how to troubleshoot this induction. As a bonus Sean has also included the Dave Elman induction with this 2 disc set. The Induction can be found on the insert when you open the first disc.

The Dave Elman Induction Review -  Disc 2

Disc 2 of this 2 disc set is the one I was really waiting for. While I don’t like titles most people would label me as an Elman hypnotist as I tend to use direct methods of hypnosis. I have always been a fan of Dave Elman and have read his book more times than I have fingers. Sean had mentioned on the phone that we will learn stuff about Elman that the book never covered and this intrigued me.

The disc starts once again like a movie. Well, actually a documentary would be more accurate. Once again you quickly notice the quality picture and editing as the camera zooms in on Sean driving down the street and pulling up to the house of Dave Elman’s son. Sean hopes out and greets the legend’s son and then a cut scene of Sean and Elman’s son walking and talking.

The video interview is really laid back and is mostly done in what looks to be a home study. Basically Sean interviews Dave Elman’s son and thus you get the REAL history behind one of the greatest hypnotists who ever lived.

What Does Sean and Dave Elman’s Son Cover In DVD 2?

Once again, a really nice bonus is that you get to see tons of photos of Dave Elman and his family that most of the world has never seen. You learn from his sons point of view on how his dad got into hypnosis, how he himself took hypnosis training and even a really cool fact. Dave Elman’s wife was a hypnotist also! Here are just a few of the topics Dave Elman’s son touches on in this DVD:

• What it was like being the son of Dave Elman

• What it was like being taught hypnosis by Dave Elman

• His dad’s background before he began teaching doctors and dentist

• Why Dave Changed His Name

• The “Special” Lesson

• Auto Suggestion

• The Vauderville Connection

• How Dave got into teaching doctors and dentist

• How Elman helped his country during WW 2: Trust me, you think you know, but you don’t know

• Dave’s views on hypnosis and the medical community

• His dad’s old days as a stage hypnotist and a look into the final stage hypnosis event his dad ever did

• What is was like growing up Jewish within a racist community (I was shocked at the stuff that happened to Dave’s son)

• Insight into the different topics Dave talked about in his training such as pain control, allergies, regression and more.

• The assassination attempt on Dave’s life which I did hear about before, but something most people don’t know and a lot more interesting personal history.

While most of these sound like things you THOUGHT his book covered. Most of these stories from Dave Elman’s son go into much greater detail and take you behind the scenes. You ever hear about a secret letter Dave received from the white house which I found quite odd. For the first time you begin to feel as if you know Dave Elman. His son takes him off the pages and brings Dave to life again. The interview is really interesting and if you are a fan of Elman or a serious student of hypnosis then this interview is a must to watch. While you learn some techniques and insight into some of Dave’s technique in this DVD I don’t think that is the real value.

The real value in my opinion is to learn about one of the greatest hypnotists to ever grace our profession. They say to become great you must study the greats and I truly believe this myself.

What I Didn’t Like About This Project

I thought Sean did a great job of interviewing Dave’s son and there isn’t a lot I can complain about really. The only thing that sort of annoyed me a little was the constant switching of views during the interview and the first disc. It’s not a huge problem and as someone who is in the middle of producing a product I know why he was doing it. Dramatic Effect, but I would have preferred a more steady view, but that’s just me. In reality this is a really simple project and its does what it does very well which is gives you an inside look into the world of Dave Elman.

The Dave Elman Induction Review Conclusion

To be honest I thought the project would be good from jump start as I know Sean puts out very good stuff, but I felt I already knew most of the stuff on Elman as I have studied him for years. So in some ways I felt the project would let me down as far as teaching ME something new, but I was completely wrong. This project really takes the man behind the book and gives him a real life face. You learn about the life of Dave Elman in a completely new way and the insights from this DVD actually helped me understand some of the stuff from his book in a much better way.

As the world continues to move forward with technology I can honestly say that this project by Sean and Dave’s son maybe become the new version of the book Hypnotherapy in some sense as it gives you a pretty detailed understanding of Elman, man and hypnotist.

Hypnosis and NLP Trainer Jamie Smart runs a well known and successful Hypnosis & NLP Store called “Salad”, which is pretty well known within the hypnosis and NLP communities.

Jamie and his wonderful staff sent me a few things to check out and to be honest they we’re all pretty good, but one product really stood out to me. Salad’s own Ericksonian Hypnosis Cards.

Master Ericksonian Hypnosis While Playing A Game of Cards – So Easy!

I have been to the Salad store before and saw these cards for sale, but never really gave too much thought to them. I knew a lot of well known people recommended the cards such as John La Valle, Jonathan Altfeld, Doug O’Brien, Karen Hearon but as it goes I ended up looking over this product for far too long. When the package arrived I opened it up and at first glance all I saw was a deck of green cards. To be honest my first impression was “this is it?”

As I continued to open the package I noticed that I also received a CD in a really nice DVD case in addition to the cards and a really nice clear carrying case. I don’t know about all of you, but when I receive stuff I didn’t plan on such as extras I’m always happy.

Side Note: I just got done talking with my connection over at Salad and she wanted me to mention that the CD I received doesn’t actually come with The Ericksonian Hypnosis Cards and it’s sold as a stand alone product. If your interested in the Ericksonian Hypnosis Cards Unpacked CD you can find it Here.

This was mistake and I don’t want everyone thinking they are getting the Cd when they order the cards when in reality it’s a stand alone product. Sorry for any confusion. Either way I still end up giving a brief review of the cd in this review as it was included with the package I was sent. I have decided to do a seperate review of this product in just a few weeks though that will be a full in depth review.

It turns out it was just a extra sent to me to review as well. So once again sorry for any confusion. Now, lets get back to the review!

I have to admit that I was impressed with the clear and strong carrying case that comes with the cards. It fits pretty well into your pocket and does a great job of keeping your cards from getting all messed up and bent. Personally I wish playing cards would use a case similar to the one that came with the Hypnosis cards, but I guess we can’t get everything we want. It was just a nice touch if you ask me.

The cards are set up like a normal deck of cards with all the suites, jokers and etc. So yes, if you wanted to you could actually play a game of cards with this deck. Jamie Smart and his team actually created a game or two you can play using these cards which is mentioned on one of the cards and again on the CD.

The cards don’t actually teach you Ericksonian Hypnosis, but they do teach you Ericksonian Language Patterns which are a vital part to learning conversational hypnosis, which is another name for Ericksonian Hypnosis. These are the same language patterns used by Dr. Milton Erickson himself.

Now that I saw what the cards contained it all made sense to me. The cards act as flash cards in a way, which makes learning Ericksonian Language Patterns easy. I have included an image of one of the cards so you can see what you are getting on the back of each one as I thought this may be helpful for all of you.

Here is what you get on the back of each Ericksonian Hypnosis Card:

**A unique language pattern for each card

**A breakdown of how to use it in a conversational or hypnosis session

**Why it works and how it works and extra information

What they have done for me?

I have to admit that these little cards really blew me away as I was expecting something different. Having these cards allows me to learn these patterns wherever I’m at and at any time. I don’t have to shift through countless books on Milton Erickson or language patterns.

I have all the best patterns right in my pocket. This makes learning the patterns easy because you tend to remember them just as you would a deck of cards. I have to admit since I got these cards and I have been using them I have been getting really good at these patterns.

I find myself using them in situations now without even thinking about it really. It’s as if the more I’m exposed to them the more they become a part of my daily language. I’m even using them in my own custom sentences and patterns rather than the ones that come with the deck.

I have also began using some of these patterns within my hypnosis sessions and have noticed a slight increase. Clients are reporting a much more personal outcome than before, but this could just be me seeing what I want to see, but hell if they worked for Milton Erickson than why not me too?

What is on the CD?

Eventually I listened to the CD and it really is a nice compliment to the cards. It basically explains how the cards works, gives you insight into them and what they can do for you as well as gives you a game or two you can actually play with the cards which can increase your learning of the patterns. I didn’t have to listen to the cd to figure out the cards as I have some experience with Ericksonian hypnosis, but for someone new the cd is a great feature.

What Features could be better?

It’s actually very hard to find something wrong with these cards as they are a very simple product. Being a simple product makes it where their isn’t a lot to comment on. These cards are designed to teach you language patterns and they do just that. If I were to say the cards had any flaw its how the information is presented on the back of the card.

If you look at the image above the information just runs on with no breaks and that can be a little confusing. Once again we have to keep in mind that they don’t have a lot of room to put the information, but it did take me a couple of readings as the way it’s written on the back tends to hurt my eyes and I get confused easily without breaks in my writing, but that is a very small flaw in the grand scheme of things and the whole eye thing, well maybe I just need glasses?(joking, sort of)

Conclusion

So for my first review of the year I have to give Salad’s Ericksonian Hypnosis Cards a 9 out 10. Jamie Smart and his wonderful team have really taken something as complex as Ericksonian Language Patterns and made it where anyone could learn. If you want to learn language patterns than this is really a great tool and something every hypnotists, in my opinion should have in their collection.

Speed Trance Review

As many of my readers know I’m very outspoken about my beliefs when it comes to the use of Instant and Rapid Inductions.

I personally believe that every hypnotist should know more than just a Progressive Relaxation. I also believe that you need to know other inductions as well, but as you begin to study and learn them you’ll start to see how powerful these types of inductions can be for you and your practice.

It doesn’t matter if you are a stage hypnotist, street hypnotist or a clinical hypnotist. These inductions can aid you in almost any situation.

The problem with your typically Progressive Relaxation Induction is that it can take anywhere from 35 min to 45 min depending on the ones you use. Another problem with them is that at the end of the whole thing you don’t even know if they are in hypnosis or where exactly they are. Now, don’t misunderstand me as I believe and know relaxation serves a vital purpose in the overall health of a person, but these people are paying you to hypnotize them and help them out with whatever situation they have in their everyday life. In some instances, I might use a Progressive Relaxation Induction if the client is in some discomfort or if they just want to do a relaxation session. Still, in my opinion this model of hypnosis is outdated to a degree.

What is so great about Instant and Rapid Inductions?

So what is so great about Hypnosis Inductions? Well one thing is they can be used in a wide range of settings including Street Hypnosis, Clinical and Stage. Instant and Rapid Inductions are great when you need to get straight to work as they don’t take long and they are perfect when working with very analytical clients. The reason why is because they happen so fast the client doesn’t have time to analyze what is happening. This is great because now the paying client is actually getting their money worth and you have more time to work with them if needed. Also, most of the time they also get a person into a deep state of hypnosis bypassing the need to start at a light state and work your way down or up. Some Rapid Inductions even have testing built right in to make sure you know where they are at during the session.

So If I had to put a definition on these two types of inductions than a Rapid Induction would be any induction that is 4 min or less and a Instant would be a induction that is 10 seconds or less. So as you can see they are much faster than the standard 35 or 45 min progressive relaxation induction. Now this leads me into the reason I started this post, which is, something called Speed Trance.

What is Speed Trance?

So what exactly is Speed Trance? Well if you thought Instant Inductions were fast than you haven’t seen anything yet. Speed Trance Inductions seem to take a total of 5 seconds or less in the majority of cases and maybe even faster than that in my opinion.

They are a unique style of very rapid instant inductions. John Cerbone and Richard Nongard who are both excellent Hypnotists developed the concept of Speed Trance. I have always consider myself to be pretty damn good with Instant and Rapid Inductions and quite fast at them, but I was quite surprised at how fast these inductions were compared to some of the ones I was using. Beside Speed Trance Inductions being very fast they also look very cool, which is a plus if you are doing stage or street hypnosis.

What Makes Speed Trance Unique?

I have bought many Instant and Rapid Inductions DVDs and most of them are usually just a showcase of Inductions. They really don’t explain anything beyond what they look like. Most products barely even touch on the concepts and theories of why they work and how they work. The Speed Trance 2 DVD set is more than just a showcase of creative looking inductions. It actually serves as a How to guide on how to perform these unique inductions and gives you even more value as it goes into troubleshooting, deepening, safety, rapport building and more. Some of the concepts and techniques taught on the 2 Disc set will actually improve your other instant and rapid inductions as the techniques behind Speed Trance can be applied to other ones as well.

Can’t I just watch Youtube to Learn Speed Trance?

It’s funny though because people e-mail me once in a while and ask why I should buy the DVD when the inductions are right on Youtube. I honestly feel sad for people who ask me this for a couple of reasons. One reason is just because you can imitate an induction doesn’t mean you can ‘do’ the induction. Yes, it is true that some people can mimic an induction and actually get it work. Now the other part to this is that I promise you that if you just do this method you will fail most of the time. Why? Because you don’t understand how they work, you don’t understand how to set them up and the principals behind them.

You won’t be able to adapt it or trouble shoot it if necessary. This is why watching the actual DVD set is important as it gives you all the missing pieces of the puzzle. You will know exactly how these inductions work, the concepts behind them and be able to adapt them or use them in all types of different context. This is why it’s important to know the truth behind them and not just mimic some quick youtube clip.

It’s not very professional to walk up to someone, claim you can hypnotize him or her, but if they ask you how it works you couldn’t tell them. So now that I have cleared that out of the way lets get to Speed Trance: Instant Hypnotic Inductions.

What You Will Learn in Speed Trance

John and Richard start off with a pretty fun and general discussion about Speed Trance and the theory behind Instant Inductions. This is very important as it lays the foundation for you to understand why they work and how they work. As for some reason people tend to think these inductions are fake or some form of magic, which I can promise you they are not. I really enjoy watching these two work together as they have a really great chemistry. Listening to John speak is worth the price of the DVDs as he is from New York and quite a fast talker which makes the convo between the deep voiced Nongard and the fast talking Cerbone quite funny.

A great feature on the DVD set is that Richard and John just don’t talk about Speed Trance, but they actually demo it live with a group of people at a local bar. This is really great to see because it takes classroom information and actually shows you it applied in a real world setting. No pre-conditioned people or stooges, just people who we’re at a bar looking for fun. John even demonstrates a one-man hypnosis show, which was pretty funny. The humor plays a big part of this DVD set as John has an ‘interesting’ style of hypnosis and might have split personalities. (I’m just joking John) The humor actually serves a purpose, which Richard and John cover later in the DVDs. Either way it keeps things entertaining rather than falling asleep while trying to watch the program.

As I mentioned earlier they give tons of real life examples, stories, tips, and John even hypnotizes Richard, which is pretty fun to see. Now, I know some of you are wondering if these are the standard Shock based Inductions or surprised inductions? They are not those types of inductions, but instead combine the use of many other hypnosis techniques such as:

• Sensory Overload
• Confusion
• Eye Fixation & more

This DVD does assume you have some type of previous knowledge about hypnosis or inductions, as this video does not teach you how to hypnotize someone. Remember an induction isn’t hypnosis; it’s just an induction. The Inductions start you on the path of the hypnosis, but these DVDs do not teach you about suggestions and etc.

Personally I think even if you have never learned how to do an induction you could learn it from this video. I have a great deal of knowledge on this subject and even I found a couple of good points I didn’t consider before and that made it worth the price. I think anyone who has never been introduced to these types of fast inductions will be amazed at what’s possible. I have also used every single one of the Speed Trance Inductions within my Hypnosis Practice and they all work great. Very simple, creative and easy once you understand how they work.

Flaws with Speed Trance

While Speed Trance is a really great DVD it has a flaw which is the editing in some places. There are parts that make you feel as if the editing may have been rushed. This really doesn’t affect the overall lessons learned from the DVD. So unless editing is the only thing you care about than I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Still, I feel as if it was my duty to let you know.

My Final Thoughts on Speed Trance: Instant Hypnotic Inductions

So by now, I hope I have given you a little insight into the 2 DVD setSpeed Trance: Instant Hypnotic Inductions. I personally recommend this product and no its not just because I have a affiliate link set up with them. I could set up links to a hundred different programs that provide much better rate of returns, but as you know I believe in credibility and value. I spent years of my life training in hypnosis and I spent lots of money on good products and bad ones. I can only imagine where I would have been if I only spent money on good products.

As someone who is always interested in learning new skills I’m always look for that next good Hypnosis Training Video. I made a promise to myself years ago that I would only learn from the best so I could provide the best to my clients.

In the beginning I started like most people do with the typically old Progressive Relaxation Inductions. Okay, they do serve a purpose sometimes, but I found myself putting myself to sleep after doing enough of them.

Finding a Faster Hypnosis Induction

This search led me to seek out better or at least “faster” ways to get a person into hypnosis. I wanted to be able to hypnotize people within 4 min or less, I wanted to be able to demo hypnosis to people on the street so I could show them the value of hypnosis. Eventually I discovered the answer to my question, which was Rapid Inductions. I discovered a few really good Rapid Induction/Instant Induction training DVDs and one of them is the reason I’m writing this review, which I would like to share with you today. The 2 DVD Instant Induction Training Program is Called The Instant Hypnosis Induction Course by Sean Michael Andrews.

The two DVD set is taken directly from one of Sean’s many Instant Inductions and Rapid Induction seminars which he gives all across the country. The Instant Hypnosis Induction Course set starts you off with a Sean in all his glory performing his unique style of street hypnosis with normal, everyday people walking the streets. The same techniques you will learn throughout the DVD. The inductions you learn will allow you to perform this right on the street as well.

Sean basically starts off the DVD by addressing the class. You know how certain people just seem to be a natural? Well Sean comes off as if the classroom is his second home. He comes off as sincere unlike some of the hypnosis trainers I have seen over the years.

He starts off the learning process with a interactive hypnosis session. Yes, Sean actually walks the classroom along with people watching at home through a short hypnosis session. (you may want to experience the trance on the second go around as the technique he shows you should be written down or learned. Why? Well because it’s a effective self hypnosis induction which you could apply to your clients or students. All you have to do is follow along and you’ll be able to enjoy the same relaxation as the people in the video. (I always enjoy hypnosis as I find it sets the pace for learning when used in that context.)

A Review Note

Unlike another DVD I recommend Speed Trance, Sean teaches more traditional material and techniques than some of the stuff that is presented in Speed Trance. I actually think this is better in a way as it lays the foundation for you before jumping into the stuff that is taught in Speed Trance.

Now I think all of us can agree on one thing. We all like to ask questions or should I reword that and say we all wish we would ask questions. We have all had questions at some point in time and choose not to ask them for one reason or another. Sean makes this easy on his class and the people at home. Unlike most teachers who tell people to hold their questions. Sean believes people should just ask him when they have one. This is good for you because you may have questions that people in the class have so you get to have your answers now rather than later.

Tips and Techniques You’ll Learn From Sean Michael Andrews

The first hypnosis induction you will learn is one of my favorite inductions and too me is one of the most powerful Hypnosis induction ever created called The Dave Elman Induction.

This induction will teach you how to get a person into deep hypnosis within 4 min or less. You’ll learn why this induction is so POWERFUL and what makes it tick. Btw, don’t think that just because you know the Elman induction you won’t learn anything new from this DVD. I almost made that mistake and started to fast forward. You will learn techniques that will MAKE SURE you get results with this induction.

The version you will learn is one I use personally in my office now. The first version is the 3 to 4 minute version and than you will learn how to break the Elman down into a shorter version. Yes, the Dave Elman can even be a instant induction and Sean shows you how.

The short version was worth its weight in gold to me as I’m always looking for ways to give my client more time for the money. He teaches each version well and go over each of them with great detail, answering questions here and there as well that different students have. Rapid Inductions look good, but how do they work?

Now, its one thing to demo instant inductions and rapid inductions and its another thing completely to know why they actually work. I rarely support products of this type unless they explain the reasons they work, the theory behind them and why they work. Anyone can make a DVD or product that shows you the induction, but do they explain why they work and how?

You’ll learn the theory behind these inductions and how they actually work. I hate to tell you this in case you thought you knew, but it doesn’t work by just pulling a person arms and yelling sleep. I’m sorry, but the truth is the truth. There is a lot more to these hypnotic inductions.

It would be nice to learn what to do before and after

A nice little bonus you get with the DVD is watching the class actually practice the inductions. (Watch these as it will help you to notice things you can improve upon with your inductions) Sean could have easily cut this out of the DVDs, but I’m glad he left it in. It allows us at home to feel like we’re part of the class. We get to see the mistakes they make and the successes. There is one part where I thought someone actually got HURT, but she appeared okay. You will have to watch the DVD to know what I’m talking about.

Is this DVD Perfect or does it have some flaws?

While the DVD is really good overall all products have things that could have been better or needed a little improvement overall. Here are a few of things I noticed that I though could have been better……

During the recording of the seminar Sean uses a remote to adjust the camcorder. This is a small issue, but you will notice times when Sean is messing with the camcorder to fit him and other things into picture. This isn’t a huge issue, but sometimes takes your attention away from the learning process

During parts of the practice session you have people walking back and forth pass the camcorder. It gets to the point where they block out some of the training and even blocks out Sean talking for a moment or two. This runs on after the practice session as well for a few moments, but than the person moves out of the way.

I may have to go back and watch, but I swore I heard Sean Michael that the class had a workbook. Where is my workbook? I love workbooks and it would have been nice to have that included as well.

NOTE:  I talked to Sean and he said they we’re just for the live class. So if you do buy the course and don’t notice a workbook don’t get scared. It’s suppose to be that way.

So in other words very small technical issues which could happen to any of us if we were filming a training video. Still, at the end of the day Sean Michael Andrew’s Instant Hypnosis Induction Course is a must have for your training library. Sean does a excellent job of teaching the techniques and comes off as very passionate about what he does.

The quality of the product is great and the few flaws don’t hold much weight as the DVD gives a lot of value. If your wondering if you should buy it I wouldn’t tell you not too. The DVD is worth the price, which in all honestly I was worried about, but those fears got laid to rest once I reviewed the product.
