Hey Joshua,

Great post, I use this process my self and its great. After all not forgiving others is really not forgive you. Its ironic that we can hold anger/saddness for what someone else might of done to us, yet they can be out of our life, know nothing about it, yet we punish ourselves for being angry toward someone else. Great post.

Great article. As an instructor myself, I've always placed great emphasis on the importance of self love and forgiveness in our line of work and "Chair Work" is a very simple, elegant, profound and effective way to achieve this in as little as one session.

I also like how you pointed out that if a practitioner forgets to do something during one particular session that it really is OK and we can take care of things during the next session. Great for many new students to know... :-)

Hi Ursula,

Chair Work has been around for a while and it's nothing more than having them play this out in their mind while using hypnosis. Typically I get some crying from the client or anger, but never directed at me as I sit at angel from the client to make sure they don't view me as the person in the chair. Suggestions are also given to the client to let them know the person they imagine in the chair across from them is bound so they can't hurt them anymore.

It's a very powerful technique and I recommend you try it out in your practice. Btw, nice website and would you be interested in being a guest writer on this blog?

Thanks for the comment,

To Your Success,
Joshua Houghton

What if the client ends in slamming up the hypnotherapist (lol). However, your post says that you take precautionary measures before the treatment.
But, this "Chair treatment is something new to me".
