Self Hypnosis Tips to Quit Smoking

There are hundreds, if not thousands of products available for people who want to quit smoking. Everything from patches, gum, pills, drinks and yes even creams. The problem with all of these products is that the vast majority of them don’t work or are B.S.

I’m not going to sit here and claim that none of them work because one of these products will work once in a while for somebody. I personally don’t think it has anything to do with the actually product, but more of the expectation of the product and the person using it as expectation can be a very powerful tool for change. Marketers know this very way as they use expectation within television ads all the time.

I have to admit whenever I see some of these products offered on late night TV or for sale in your local drug store I actually feel sad for people. these companies will make these wild claims and the average person falls for them simply because they just don’t know the truth behind the matter. Drug companies and other self serving interesting love to tell you that Smoking is addicting or that nicotine is addictive, but the truth is that this is a bold face lie. I won’t see here and claim that nicotine isn’t BAD for you because than I would be lying. Nicotine is pretty nasty stuff and just a few drops of it could kill a horse, but it’s not addicting. This is nothing more than another way these companies control you. the way they view it is if enough people think it’s addiciting and if we can get a lot of professionals to say it is than people will have to keep smoking our products. Why? because it’s addictive or so they would like us to believe.

So if smoking isn’t addictive Mr. Houghton what is it? Well, smoking is nothing more than a habit. You did just hear me say what you thought you read. Smoking is nothing more than a habit. You tried it one day and I bet you didn’t like it, but you did because you wanted to rebel or thought it would be cool or peer pressure or whatever reason. Well, even though you hated it you did it again and than again and than again. Fitting in now with whatever social group your a part of and the cycle continues. Eventually, you pick up a habit of smoking. It’s not the nictonie in your body because technically it leaves your body within 48 to 72 hours. So if you didn’t smoke for 48 to 72 hours your body will basically nicontine Free.

Let me pose you another question. If nicotine is so addictive than how come no one has ever become addicted to the gum or the patch? I won’t say nicotine isn’t bad for you as well as many of the other materials used in the creation of these awful products, but smoking is nothing more a habit. Now, many of you will want to fight with me and say nicotine is addictive, but In my professional opinion it’s not and while I’m not a medical doctor, I have worked with hundreds of people for smoking and every single one of them has become a non-smoker and continues to be as I follow up with each and everyone of them every couple of months.

If smoking is addictive than how can I, in one session maybe two completely work with a person and get a person to give them up and never go back and they have smoked for over 30 years. No side effects and no urges.The reason most people have side effects is that they believe they will have them. Remember that what the mind expects tends to happen. The human Imagination is very powerful.

Smoking is a habit and to prove this I want you to try something. I want you to think about another habit you have. A pretty big habit and once you discovered it I want you to no longer do it for a period of 5 weeks. I know this may be hard, but you can do it.

Let’s make this a test. Think of a habit you have had for a long time, something you do every day and stop doing it for a period of 5 weeks. Just completely stop and let’s see what happens. Well, I can already tell you the results for most people. Most people won’t be able to do this and the majority of people will feel a urge or need to do this habit. Why? Because it’s a habit and it’s been hardwired into your brain and body. I used to have a bunch of nasty habits and one was drinking coffee. I would wake up and need my cup of coffee. I wouldn’t be able to function if I didn’t have my cup of coffee. Now we all know I would be able to function, but my mind and body got use to having coffee every morning. The subconscious part of our minds always seeks out things that are familiar to us. Coffee was that thing and the moment I stopped drinking coffee I would feel sick, get urges, feel tense, tired and etc. Nothing more than mental side effects. I eventually broke the habit by reprogramming the way I viewed this habit using Self Hypnosis. Let’s get back to the smoking habit at the moment.

Beside that you have linked smoking to other things in your life. For instance, have you ever been stressed out at work, so stressed out that you had to take a cig break. You step outside and for those few min you are puffing away you feel great. Well let me tell you something it is not the cig that is making you feel good it’s the sensation of getting away from what is causing you stress. The problem is you are smoking while you are having this feeling. So what happens is your brain links smoking to pleasure because you are having pleasure being away from the stressful situation. We hypnotists call this linking.

So, what is the quickest and most effective way to break a habit? * The first tip is the most powerful and you must do this step before anything else. You must admit to yourself the most powerful truth in the world when it comes to smoking. You must admit to yourself that you are being controlled by this leaf wrapped in paper. You must admit that you are a slave to it. What? Your saying your not a slave. Okay, I’m sorry for saying that, please go ahead and quit right now. Seriously, I’ll wait ……..Okay, did you quit yet? I bet you haven’t, why because you are being controlled by this cig. The key to fix this is to decide and make up your mind that YOU ARE NO LONGER GOING TO BE CONTROLLED AND YOU ARE TAKING BACK YOUR LIFE. IT’S YOUR LIFE AND NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU LET YOURSELF BE CONTROLLED BY A CIG OR ANYONE. You must step up to the plate and tell yourself that this is your life and never again will you be a slave to a cig. Once you can admit this to yourself along with the concept that smoking isn’t addictive you will be on the way to becoming NON SMOKER FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

* The next tip for you is to remember that your imagination is the most powerful tool you process. Your brain cannot tell the difference between something that is real and something that is imagined. The imagination is the language of your subconscious mind. I want you to start imagining that you have become a non smoker. I really want you to see yourself becoming a non smoker. Imagine the feelings of being a non smoker. See how great your life is without them. Notice when you do activities you used to do wth a cig that you now do something else such as drinking water. I want you to take 5 to 10 min a day in a quiet place, eyes close imagining your life as non smoker. So everyday for 30 days just take 5 to 10 min and enjoy your life as a non smoker.

* The next step is every morning right after you wake up and right before you go to bed. I want you to say the following to yourself: I’m a non smoker and I’m a non smoker for the rest of my life to yourself or out loud with emotion a total of 15 times. Every night right before bed and right after you wake up. Why? Because you are actually in a light state of hypnosis around these times. So your suggestions become much more powerful.

* I want you to start drinking a nice cold glass of water anytime you feel a urge and as you do I want you to imagine that each slip is flushing all trances of this habit from life.

* The final tip is to use your imagination every chance you get and if you can exercise as it’s a great way to get rid of stress and it keeps the body and mind focused.

Now will these tips make you a non smoker? I can’t promise you that, but what I can promise you is if you seriously commit to the statement above which is that you can admit you are being controlled and want to take back your life and you seriously commit to this you can become a non smoker. I still recommend working with a actual hypnotists, but for those who want to see if they can do it on their own, which everyone can do than go for it. Some people can do it in a week, some a month, but learning how to use your imagination is a powerful tool and is a form of self hypnosis.

I know some of the stuff I have said may shock you and some of you may think it’s B.S. and either way that is fine with me. I know what I know from my experiences and once again the statements I make are just my opinions. Some people will claim I tried hypnosis and it didn’t work for me and I would say you went to the wrong hypnotist or you never came to the conclusion that you were being controlled by the cig and that is so important. There are many other tips you can do, but the most powerful one I gave you is the first one. You are a free soul and NEVER AGAIN will you be under the control of this nasty habit.
