Hi Melanie,

Thanks for being a loyal reader. I love speaking with people who follow my blog and me. To answer your question my background is in business, management and marketing. I was heavily involved in those fields before becoming a Hypnotists. Beside Hypnosis my other passion is Business & Marketing, online and offline.

As I mentioned briefly in a reply to another person's comment I have decided to start up a small coaching program. To be honest, I've been receiving request for one on one coaching for almost over a year now. I always thought it would be a good idea and a lot of fun, but for one reason or another it got put on the back burner. Due to some dealings made in my personal life a lot of my personal time has been freed up so I have finally have the time needed to focus on a coaching program.

Btw, it would be way less then Eben Pagan's training as my fee would only be around $200-$300 total. Currently that fee includes 3 to 4 one on one calls with me where you can ask anything you like and we work together to take your blog, website or online hypnosis business to the next level.

At the moment this may change as I'm still in the planning phase at the moment...

So far, most of the request for coaching has been other hypnotists asking me to help them create and build their blogs and websites. A lot of Hypnotists are interested in blogging and building their online presence, but just don't know where to start or go. So my coaching program will focus on helping Hypnotists with all of the online stuff such as...

Building a blog or website
Optimizing the blog or website
Marketing and promoting of that blog or website
Product creation and Marketing
Traffic Generation
SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
Making money using their blog or website
Building their online brand and credibility and a lot more.

It's still in a rough draft phase, but it should be done sometime after the new year. I will only accept a minimum of 5 clients per month. I'm doing this to make sure each client get's the proper attention they deserve. If you are interested just shoot me a message at the contact me page which can be found HERE

Thanks for being a loyal reader.

To Your Success,
Joshua Houghton

Hi VelvetMallet,

Thanks for the nice words and it's nice to see you found my blog. Yeah, I owe a lot to Eben Pagan as he really changed the way I looked at Business and Marketing. The guy is quite expensive and among the highest priced, but well, well worth it in my opinion. I recommend everyone at least sign up for his Free e-mail list as he gives a lot of great free stuff away on the list. To be honest, you can learn a lot from the free stuff. That is how I did it at first. I checked out his free material then when I knew his stuff was good I moved on up. Keep in touch with me and let me know what you think of his material over time.

It's always great to see Hypnotists starting blogs and more importantly, high quality blogs. A lot of people just don't get that a blog is a reflection of their business or themselves so if you put out weak material or just throw some sloppy blog up it can come back and bite you. It looks like your blog is coming along nicely and from what I read of your background on FreeHypnosisCommunity.com your blog should grow pretty well over time.

I actually have a coaching program for Hypnotists interested in starting a blog and blogging or just improving their web presence which you may be interested in, but I'm full at the moment as I only take two clients on at a time, but until then here is some advice that really helped me in the beginning.

1. Content Is King: Blogging takes time. If you expect instant success or an instant audience you should give up now. I've been blogging for years and it's only in the last few that things have picked up. The key to really getting picked up by the search engines and building a strong audience is content. Content is King. Google loves high quality so just make sure each article you put out is good quality. This doesn't mean every article has to be, but good content will go a long way. There are other tricks and techniques, but it would take me to long to explain in an comment. Maybe I'll do a post on it soon.

2. Theme: The theme you choose is very important and It looks like your starting off on the right path. Woothemes has some of the best themes available. They look very professional and easy to customize. Another good one is Unique Blog Designs. They offer a few really nice ones as well. Your theme looks very clean and the logo is important. It makes your blog stand out. Nice work!

3. What Is Your Goal? I was looking at your blog and I would strongly suggest you determine your goal for your blog. If you already did this then your way ahead of where I was back then. This is something that I didn't do in the beginning and to be honest it slowed me down. Ask yourself what is the purpose of your blog? Do you want to gain exposure, do you just love to write, do you want to make money? Nothing wrong with any of those models. Once you determine that it's easy to move forward. So far it's looking good Velvet!

4. Blogging Resources: As far as blogging resources I would highly recommend Yaro's blogging mastermind program. It isn't as expensive as Eben'sand it's well organized. His free blog is also an excellent free resource and one of the best in my opinion. You can learn a ton for free and Yaro is a really nice guy. The only drawback is that Yaro writes from the point of view that you are in the blogging scene so sometimes it can get overwhelming, but still a good resource. His Blog Mastermind program has helped a lot of people go on to create powerful blogs.

Thanks for reading the blog and I'll follow up with you by e-mail for some other stuff. I'll bookmark your blog as I love reading blogs by other Hypnotists. Only two months huh? Nice work and look forward to seeing more.

Thanks,
Joshua Houghton

Hi Josh. Thanks for this great article. I've heard of Eben Pagan, along with some of the other guys out there. Man, he's not kidding when he speaks of high level training. His cost is among the highest!

I've just started my own blog at www.ChampionMindSkills.com just under two months ago and I've been searching around for the best strategy for my blog. Are there any other resources that you'd recommend, either from personal experience or trusted referral?

It's so true that more people can be helped by online hypnosis, self hypnosis and hypnotherapy businesses. I think the key to it is to deliver products with quality and integrity that your clients can benefit from and recommend.

I enjoyed your report Ed too. Great work.

Great Stuff Joshua

Even online aside, just thinking of your practice as a business and embracing that idea rather than being almost ashamed is a very good start. I hope lots of your guys have read "The Hypnotherapy Report"
at

http://theartofoptimism.com

as it really puts this stuff into some real perspective.

Keep up the great work!

Hi Donna,

To be honest it's completely up to you. There are many advantages to starting an online business such as low cost. Still, nothing beats seeing clients one on one and learning from that experience. My advice would be to use the online business in combination with a physical office, but once again it all depends on what type of Hypnosis Business or Service you want to go with. If you could add more details then I could help you more.
