This video is quite thought provoking and could shatter many of your current held beliefs about Inductions and even more importantly, do inductions even exist?

http://www.hypnoticinductionsblog.com

This video was made to push your beliefs to the limit and bend your reality. This is one of those videos that could change your model of hypnosis FOREVER! So check it out by clicking the link below. Please leave us a comment on that blog and let us know what you think about it. We love to hear feedback from our readers.

http://www.hypnoticinductionsblog.com

We will be posting another awesome video tomorrow which will break down the famous hand drop induction and show you exactly how it’s done and what to do if something goes wrong. That video will be made available tomorrow.

I flew up to Taylor’s home state so we could work on a Hypnosis Training Product. I stayed in Virginia for a little over a week and we worked non stop on this project. I mean, we took time to eat and things of that natural, but if I was going to pay to come up to Virginia I wanted to make sure we used our time wisely as Taylor did as well.

For the most part stuff turned out really well. We had a few set backs as they were to be expected, but nothing major. By the end of that week Taylor and I had completed our first Hypnosis Training product. It felt amazing, really amazing to take all the knowledge and experience in both of our heads and put them on film for the world to see.

Sometimes Things Don’t Go As Planned

Our goal in the beginning was to release the product within about a month or two after completing filming, but that just never happened. It wasn’t because we weren’t working on it or anything of that natural, but we had a setbacks with things such as editing, production and other issues related to the creation of the product.

Let me tell you this, if you think creating a product is easy then you haven’t really created a product. Digital products aren’t so bad, but creating a physical product takes a lot more work and requires a much steeper learning curve. We really didn’t want to come out of the gate with a digital product. There is nothing wrong with them, but for the most part people associate more value with a physical product. Plus, there is nothing like looking in your mailbox and seeing something you just ordered arrive. For the most part people love to receive packages. Heck, I know I do

Another thing that sort of held us up is we kept finding little things wrong with product and improving them. Taylor and I are both big believers in credibility. We both have business backgrounds and they have trained us to put your best foot forward. I mean, if you create a crappy product you will forever be associated with that crappy product. Your name is on the cover and that is not a good way to build credibility.

When we decided to create this product we knew we were going to put everything we had into this project. We paid attention to all the little details. Stuff most people wouldn’t care about, but at the end of the day even if people didn’t like the information presented in our product they couldn’t say we didn’t put a lot of time and effort into this product. Plus, on top of all of this was we wanted to create something that our customers would love. Hell, if you paying your hard earned money you should get some actual value out of the course. Nothing worse then buying these $40.00 e-books which sell big, but deliver small.

After months of working we finally completed the project. What a great feeling to hold something in your hand that you created. This project took almost an entire year to complete, but in the end the result was worth it to us. So with a completed product in hand we moved on with our plans.

A Early Success, But Is It Enough?

I don’t have time to go into the story behind why we created this product, but you’re receive that answer soon enough. All you need to know at this second is that we were encouraged to create this product so we decided to offer this product to this group of people first. Taylor and I have a social networking site for anyone who enjoys Hypnosis, NLP and Personal Development called FreeHypnosisCommunity.com which we created a few months ago. So we decided to do a test launch just for the people involved in this network. We thought we would do average as this isn’t some cheap $20.00 product, but the end results were really amazing and quite shocking.

We sold more copies then we had ordered from our production company. In was a nice feeling to know people wanted something we put so much work into. So the orders went out and we received some really great feedback. The launch was quite successful and we honestly thought of just releasing it to the rest of the world, but after some carefully consideration we decided to wait. I know, more waiting…what could be better then that? I say that with tongue in cheek obviously. We decided we needed to provide even more value and that is what we did. We didn’t redo the course, but we did make a few slight modification.

It’s Time To Think Outside The Box

We finished making the changes and still thought to ourselves, how can we be different? How can we take the values that make us who we are and share them with the world. Taylor and I are both experts in online marketing and were going to do the usually. We were going to create a website, create a really long sales letter and place it on the internet. I know, it doesn’t seem like much but I promise you this method works quite well. Still, we felt our product deserved better then just some long sales page. I mean, this product is the collective knowledge of Taylor and me which we have worked on for a almost a year. This was more then a product to us. This was more then just another way to make money. This training product was like our baby in a strange way.

Take a moment and think about something in your life you worked really hard for. Maybe completing school or opening up your first practice or business. Heck, maybe even learning to drive. Can you remember those emotions? Those feelings of joy and happiness. Maybe I sound crazy, but this product contains my heart and soul. I can only hope if you are reading this post and decide to create your own product you care for it and put everything you have into it instead of just treating in as another way to make money. A product is an extension of yourself, simple and true.

So with all of that being said Taylor and me put our brains together and after a few weeks of going back and forth we finally knew how we would bring our product into this world.

TRANCED OUT Has Arrived

So, as you can tell from the title of this blog post and the story I’ve just told we are finally releasing our first product to the world called TRANCED OUT: The World’s First Instant & Rapid Inductions Home Study Course. That’s a pretty bold claim I know. We did the research and while there are a few DVDs out on the market, mainly from a few of our friends, but there wasn’t a COMPLETE Home Study Course on the subject.

This isn’t some let me just show you a couple of inductions and be done with you project. We take you beneath the surface of Instant and Rapid Inductions and share information that has never been talked about before. We can say this with confidence because we own pretty much every course on this subject. It’s not only important to learn the techniques, but even more important to learn why the techniques work in the first place. To learn the concepts, theories and processes that go on behind the scenes before the inductions ever take place.

Have you ever attempted a Instant and Rapid Induction and failed and wondered why? Did you do everything the course told you? It’s not enough to know how to do the induction, but you need to know why the inductions work and what goes on under conscious awareness.

To be an expert at something, to be a master of something you need to understand these concepts and techniques on an unconscious level before you can become completely successful with them on a conscious level. This is what our goal is for TRANCED OUT. We take you from the beginning to the end and then we even support you after the fact because a lot of people just need a little more support after the fact and we provide with TRANCED OUT. In the beginning we set out to make this one or two DVDs, but the end result was a total of 5 DVD’s.

TRANCED OUT is 5 DVDs, 2 Perfect Bound Manuals and a ton of bonuses from some of the biggest names in Hypnosis such as Adam Eason, Richard Nongard, Sean Michael Andrews, Reg Blackwood, Nathan Thomas & many more.

We Just Want To Provide A Lot Of Value

There will be no long sales letters, no hard sales pitches where we try and force you to purchase the product. We want to do something the Hypnosis World has never seen before and that is what we are doing with the release of our product.

We have decided to create a special product launch blog to celebrate the release of TRANCED OUT. This special blog is available NOW and will NOT offer you anything to buy. What you will get is a informative Welcome Video that will explain everything and more and from then on we will be posting a high quality, high value video or piece of content every single day for 2 weeks straight until the actually release date of TRANCED OUT which will be Jan 29th at 3pm eastern standard time.

http://www.hypnoticinductionsblog.com

The videos that we be getting posted are so good we could have packaged them together and sold them. These are actual videos you can watch and then immendiately go out and apply what you learned in the videos. On top of all of this we will actually be giving away a few copies of our Home Study Course completed free. Oh and to top all of this off we are giving away a special, nearly two hour long audio lesson on Troubleshooting Instant and Rapid Inductions which is available on the blog right now.

http://www.hypnoticinductionsblog.com

Why would we just give away a ton and I do mean a ton of free content? Simple. We want you to see the type of value we provide and how committed we are to releasing a quality product that actually benefits those who purchase it. Once again, this special Hypnosis Induction Blog is live right now.

As you will see we’ll put a lot of time, money and effort into this project and we think the results will speak for themselves. So if you love free stuff and even better, if you love high quality, high value free stuff then click the link below to get instant access to our special product launch blog.

We are living in a really rough time right now. Gas prices are high, the price of food keeps going up, people are losing their homes to foreclosures; families who once had enough are now struggling to make it in the world now. The economy has been getting worse and worse and it feels like things just won’t get better. In time they do, but for many people later may be too late.

A friend of mine recently lost his home to foreclosure. He had a small little 900 sq ft home where he lived with his wife and son. As the price of gas, food and everything else went up he saw less and less money in his pocket. My friend had a job as did his wife, but neither one of the jobs paid a lot and to be honest they lived paycheck to paycheck. Even though they lived paycheck to paycheck they found a way to make it as most people do. The problem was that money was staying the same, but prices kept rising and to top it off my friend has never been very good with money.

He would take his wife out to eat once in a while or buy something for his son or himself. It seemed like money was never there, but he would tell himself he would make it up somehow. We have all been through this situation before. We wanted something and spend the money telling ourselves it would be okay. Justifying it to ourselves to make it okay to buy something when in reality we can’t afford the thing we want to buy. It was hard, but my friend was able to make up the money. Well, he was able to until things started to get bad.

My friend got laid off from his job along with 43 other people. The company couldn’t afford as much staff now as they had to pay a lot for gas and other expenses. My friend called me up and was really upset, which I understand because I was once in his shoes. I had a great job once until I was let guy as well. So I could understand what was going on in his mind. My friend was worried for his family first and last himself. His wife and him had no money saved up and he got laid off at the worst time of the month. The 1st went most of the bills we’re due.

Due to being laid off he had to search for work fast as he had to pay the bills and most importantly the house note. His wife was still working, but it’s not easy to pay the bills with only one income. My friend found work eventually, but because this was the only job he could fine he took it. My friend was once the manager of the company that let him guy, but now he had to settle for working as a cook in a local bar and grill here in Columbus, Georgia.

He was okay with it to a degree because in rough times we must do what we do to make it and keep going. The problem with this new job is it didn’t pay enough. It was almost 50% less than what he was making before. He was able to start paying bills, but he wasn’t able to pay everything. A late fee here, a late fee there and before you know it credit card companies we’re calling him non stop. It doesn’t take long for the calls to start.

To make a long story short my friend got behind on his mortgage. He was paying them, but he was always a little short. He tried to look for a 2nd job, but no one is really trying to hire people right now here in Columbus. The bills kept piling up and not enough money to cover them. Eventually he found a 2nd job as did his wife and their situation got a little bit better, but the fees added up and now their monthly payments on everything were much higher. Maybe if they had a better budget or maybe if they cut back on something they could have made it. My friend called me to dinner a while back and said he wanted to pay my way. I knew his situation as he told me all about it so I didn’t want him to pay and told him I could cover my own way.

See, in the past he could spend a little more than he had because he knew he could come up with it somehow, but things have changed. Prices have gone up, they are behind on bills, monthly payments and interest rising. You may be able to spend a little more than your income allows, but what happens when you can’t make up the $40.00 you spent on dinner and a movie? I see this all the time in my work as a Hypnotist and an Investor. Bad money habits can destroy you over time if you’re not carefully.

Well, some months went by and the house of cards started to fall. They had some financial setbacks with the car and rising prices caught up with them. They got behind on their mortgage and waited to long to ask for help. It wasn’t one thing that hurt my friend. It was the build up of bad money habits, tough times, bad breaks and etc. The truth of the matter is this can happen to any of us at any time. We go home, kiss our wife, be with our family and think it can’t happen to us. It can happen to us and it’s happening to people JUST LIKE YOU all over the United States.

I offered my friend advice on his real estate situation, but like any proud man he turned me down telling me he would find a solution. Well a solution was found, but not the one he wanted. My friend lost his home to foreclosure. Increased monthly payments, interest rates, bad money habits, bad accounting and bad breaks led to my friend losing his home. His wife, child and him with no where to go. They moved in with his mom for now and are working on trying to rebuild their life.

I tried to let him know people get over foreclosures and move on with their life. Life is more than a house and he just has to get back on his feet. He is still working as his wife is as well and they are saving to get an apartment. It’s sad what is happening to them, but this story isn’t unique and it’s happening everywhere. I know things will be okay for them and I wish him the best.

Now, most of you are wondering what this story has to do with Hypnosis. I felt it was important to tell the story of my friend, who is a real person in case you are wondering. The story of my friend shows us how important it is to manage our money. In my friend case it was a mixture of bad habits and bad luck. I wonder to this day if my friend had better habits would he still have his home? Heck, would thousands of hard working people still have their homes?

I’m not a physic so I can’t see the future, but I can guess that most people would be better off if they had better financial management. People would be better off if their money habits were not the way they were. So this brings me to the question I ask in the title. Can Hypnosis improve your financial situation? The simple answer is yes it can.

Okay, I know most of you are saying how in the hell can hypnosis help you out during these financially tough times. Can it make you rich? I highly doubt it as far as instant wealth or helping you to predict the lottery numbers as some hypnotist might tell you. Hypnosis isn’t magic so it can’t make you a millionaire overnight. Can hypnosis make people do your bidding so everything in life is easier? I’m sorry it can’t help you in that area as well. You are shaking your head and saying if hypnosis can’t make me rich than what can it do and how can it improve your financial situation?

Let me explain for all of you who are still reading. Hypnosis isn’t magic and it isn’t a fix all or cure all for everything. Hypnosis is a powerful tool for change and it has been proven in many clinical studies to have helped people with all types of situations. How? Hypnosis is a natural ability we all process. All hypnosis is self hypnosis as its something you process from birth. We, as hypnotist just show you how to tap into it and use it. Hypnosis allows us to bypass that critical part of us, that part that analyzes everything. It allows us to get direct access to our sub conscious mind. The part of us where habits, emotions and all the things of our past are stored. It’s where everything you have ever been through or experienced is stored and all that stuff put together makes you who you are today.

Hypnosis basically allows us to install new programming or new software into your sub conscious mind as long as you find the new ideas or beliefs acceptable. You will never do anything against your will while in hypnosis and you can reject any suggestions you don’t like. Well, if the sub conscious mind houses our habits and behaviors and hypnosis allows us to modify those habits, than you should see where I’m going with all of this.

Hypnosis allows us when the person is motivated to change bypass that judgmental part of them and change the negative habits. So, let’s say you are bad with money or you have bad habits such as spending too much or not balancing your checkbook or being lazy when it comes to paying bills. Hypnosis can change those habits and modify them to fit what you want your outcome to be. Of course, you have to want to make the change as this is the key, but since hypnosis is a heighten state of suggestibility than suggestions become powerful when giving to you.

You can actually alter your habits to where you enjoy paying your bills. You start paying better attention to your money and how you spend it. It’s not magic; it’s just how our brains work. Imagine; go ahead imagine what it would be like to take control of your financial situation. To know you are saving money and not wasting it due to bad habits. No one wants to have bad habits. We learn these habits over time from experiences and the people we associate with in our lives. Hypnosis can change this for people, but the problem is most people don’t know it.

The reason hypnosis works so well with smoking is because smoking is a habit. Hypnosis changes the way you associate things to that habit. For instance, people get used to going out to eat or the movies. It becomes a habit for them and before you know it the power bill money is gone. Habits can be changed because just as they were learned they can also be unlearned. People always say to me they can’t afford sessions or they don’t have the time and I sat to them, what if you had the time and what if you knew you could save $500 a year or a $1000 a year just by changing the way your view money and by changing your habits?

As a real estate investor I see families come and go. Sometimes they leave on their own and other times I have to evict them for non payment. The number one reason for this is bad financial habits. I’m not perfect either and I have problems as well. But through the use of self hypnosis I have seen really amazing changed within my spending habits and in my bank account. I view money in a different way as some of the people I have worked with in the past have claimed as well. Also, besides helping you change your money habits hypnosis helps you to relax, take notice and focus on the things you really want out of live. Hypnosis is a powerful tool for motivation, personal development and self change.

All I want from this article is for people out there to realize they have the potential for change. They have the ability to make the difference. We as humans have great potential, but we must admit we need help if we are to receive that help. The elections are coming up and no matter whom you choose for president things will get worse before they get better. The question you have to ask yourself right now is do they have to get worse for me or can I change that RIGHT NOW!

Hypnosis can help you make many rapid changes to your life, but the decision has to be yours in the end. You have to want to make the right financial decisions. So in closing I want you to thing about this. If hypnosis can help you change your financial habits and all hypnosis is self hypnosis than in the end who is really making the change? Is it the hypnosis or is it you? I hope this article has shed a little light on How Hypnosis can improve your Financial Situation.

In this article I break down the Hypnosis Mind Model which allows us to have a unique understanding of the human mind.

Hypnosis Mind Model

One thing most people don’t know about Hypnotists is that we are considered experts on how the human mind works and operates. People tend to think we just make people do funny things on stage, which is so far from the truth.

When it comes to understanding the subconscious hypnotists tend to have a vast understanding of this subject. One of the reasons is because the subconscious is where we do our work. So I thought it would be a good idea to write an article that details the Hypnosis Mind Model and the different roles and functions of the 3 different parts of our mind.

NOTE: I use the mind model taught byJerry Kein from Omni Hypnosis

One of the reasons we are so good at helping people is due to our understanding of the human mind. Now, please understand that we as Hypnotists are experts in the mind, not the brain. The brain would be the domain of licensed professionals to a degree.

I know some of you are confused because you thought the mind and the brain we’re the same thing. Well to make understanding this concept easier I would like you to think of the brain as the physical organ that exist within our skulls. So if the brain is the physical organ within our skulls than what is the mind?

The mind doesn’t actually exist in the physical sense. For instance, if I we’re to cut open your brain you would never find the three different parts of the mind. The three parts of the mind are terms used to describe the different roles and functions of the brain. The way our brain works and processes information on a level we are not aware of. For instance, have you ever thought how your eyes blink or how your heart just continues to beat without you thinking of it?

These would be functions underneath your current awareness. Have you ever noticed how you can hear your own thoughts, yet they are inside your mind? Have you ever wondered why you respond or act to something the way you do? If so, these are the reasons that many, many years ago lots of really smart people decided we needed a way to define these different roles and functions of the brain. Thus we have the mind and the three different parts that make it up.

Now some people believe that these three parts of the mind really exist, but we just haven’t found them yet. I don’t know about them being actually physical parts of our brains, but I do believe that the roles and functions are a real thing and that we need a way to describe them and define them. They serve a roadmap to why we are the way we are and how our mind processes new ideas and beliefs and how it produces things such as habits and behaviors.

As I mentioned before we as Hypnotist work with the Subconscious part of our minds. A part I will detail below in just a second. Yet to understand how your subconscious works it serves to have an understanding of the other two parts. Now, in some circles people believe we only have two parts, which would be the subconscious and the unconscious. In other circles some people don’t believe any of this stuff. I’m not here to tell you what to believe in. We all have free will, but most professional circles believe in the concept of the subconscious and etc.

It’s funny because the mental health professionals mainly used these terms for many years, but within the last 30 or 40 years the term subconscious has been accepted into the mainstream. Everything from music, movies, books, textbooks, colleges, schools and etc acknowledge the subconscious. So in a way due to this concept becoming a part of normal life we have made it a ‘real’ thing. Yet, I guess we have to ask yourself a question. Even with all the knowledge and technology we process we still don’t truly understand the cool thing between our ears known as the brain. In many ways, it’s still a mystery.

So it’s my hope that this article will help you to understand how your mind works, how your brain works and why you are the way you are. No, I’m not going to explain every little detail of why you are whom you are, but by understanding the different roles and functions of the mind/brain whatever you want to call it. It can do nothing more than give you insight to a degree. What you do with that insight is up to you. Remember, as a hypnotist I can’t control anyone

So, let start by detailing the first part of our mind. The part of your mind that you are using to read what I am writing. The part of you that actually keeps you from becoming the person you can become.

The Conscious Mind

The conscious mind is the logical, analytical part of our minds. It’s the part of the mind that must give you a reason for why you do what you do. Your conscious mind also deals with your willpower and temporary memory. Your conscious mind is what you use most of the time. Well, as far as having an actual knowledge of using it. It’s the part of you that decides what you want for dinner or what you should wear to work. The conscious mind is very important to us because without it we would be useless. No one could make decisions; make judgments or figuring things out. An example would be for you to place your hands on the keyboard, NOW!!!

If you did as I asked you would have put your hands on the keyboard. This is your conscious mind at work. Another example would be to think of which ice cream you like best and why. Currently you are using the conscious part of your mind to analyze which ice cream you like and the reasons why. Now as far as capacity the conscious mind is quite limited. Many researches and smart guys believe the conscious mind can only hold 7 bits of information at a time.

Now you are saying that’s not true I can think of tons of different things. I didn’t say you couldn’t think of different things, but try to think of 8 different things ALL at the same time. You can’t, it’s impossible unless you’re an alien and if you are, good for you

What happens is your conscious mind can switch from one thought to another within a split second. Always pulling the information you need from another part of the mind, which we will be covering next. See, the reason this part of the mind holds us back is because it has to give a reason for everything we do. Everything has to make sense to this part of the mind.

For instance, have you ever tried to quit smoking before or lose a little weight? Well the moment you start giving yourself positive suggestions such as I’m a non-smoker or I’m losing weight everyday this part of the mind kicks in and rejects it. Why? Because it looks for past experiences and beliefs that match with your new suggestions and if it can’t find any it rejects them. Why? Because to this part of the mind how can you ‘be’ a non-smoker when you smoked yesterday? It has to do things logical and have a reason for everything.

So since this suggestion is rejected. Your chances of becoming a non-smoker have gone down big time. Now, once in a while some suggestions will slip through the natural defense of the conscious mind, which we will call the critical factor. The critical factor is basically the guard at the gate.

It is the part of the conscious mind that determines if the new suggestions match current beliefs. If they don’t the gate stays close and nothing gets in. This is why hypnosis is so powerful because hypnosis allows us to bypass this part of the mind and get direct access to the part of the mind we want to work with.

The Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind is where your emotions reside and emerge from. This part of your mind does not analyze, it’s similar to a computer and runs off of the programs it has learned. These programs are your life experiences, beliefs, ideas, things that have happened to you and etc. All of these experiences make you who you are. In essence, they are the programming you have installed in your mind. Your permanent memory also resides in your subconscious mind.

We never truly forget anything, but the conscious mind only has limited storage so the databases of our memories are stored within this part of the mind as it can never be full. As anything those these memories are subject to how we viewed the event at the time the memory was created.

Remember that our beliefs, ideas, opinions and views define the way we experience events. Your subconscious is also the protective part of your mind and does what it can to keep you out of danger.

This is the part of the mind we work with using hypnosis. This part of the mind as stated above is whom you are. It’s the database of all your experiences, beliefs and ideas. The critical factor, which was mentioned above, is the guard, which protects this part of the mind. Another way to look at this would be that the critical factor is the piece that connects the subconscious with the conscious mind.

The reason hypnosis works so well with this part of the mind is because it doesn’t analyze information. It just accepts things as they come. So in other words when you or a hypnotist give a suggestion it goes right into your database of experiences and becomes a part of you. Now, depending on how long a belief has been a part of you it may take compounding of the suggestion over time to take effect. Think about it now, it took you awhile to become a smoker, so the same is to be true to become a nonsmoker.

To this part of the mind, if a suggestion gets through it’s treated as real. Now, the critical factor hasn’t been destroyed it has just been giving a bride or in other words told to take a break for a few. It’s still watching for anything that might violate your moral or ethics, but other than that its just relaxing and enjoying a mini vacation. Since hypnosis allows us to bypass the critical factor of the conscious mind its a powerful tool to affect change by technically adding new programming or deleting old programming that isn’t benefiting you at this point in time.

Now for an example or two. Have you ever zoned out while driving on the highway and wondered how you go to your location without any memory of driving. This was your sub conscious protecting you as it kicks in and handles things when your conscious mind is too busy. Your sub conscious is always on, always watching and it sees thing you don’t.

Ever knew to hit the breaks just in time before hitting a car? Ever wonder how you know exactly when to press the breaks and what’s the right amount of pressure to apply? Ever wonder how you are able to calculate the time needed to stop and taking into consideration the speed you are traveling, weight of the car, reaction time and etc? I bet you never though of any of this and that’s the purpose. It happens under our noise. It happens under conscious awareness, which is why we call it the subconscious.

To be honest with you no one knows exactly how this process works, but it does. When it gets backed up or confused the subconscious kicks in temporary until the conscious mind is ready again. It also protects us in another way, which isn’t always the smartest thing, but in the eyes of the S.C. this method works fine. See, many people think smoking is a bad thing, but what if I told you that your smoking is actually serving some type of positive purpose in the eyes of the sub conscious. It is actually providing you with something that the subconscious perceives as positive.

Let me give you an example. A girl goes to high school and starts to date. She thinks everything is great with her first boyfriend, but later she learns he cheated on her. The next boyfriend doesn’t work because the girl is wondering if he will cheat on her. Eventually, since she doesn’t trust the boyfriend he ends up cheating which only adds fuel to the fire. This creates a pattern or habit in her mind that guys will cheat on her and hurt her.

Now we jump ahead about 13 years and this girl who is now a woman has always been done wrong by guys. They have either cheated on her or hurt her in some way. Now, she was always a skinny girl, but within the last few years she has began to put on a little weight. As months go by she gains more and more weight. She doesn’t really notice as it’s happening slowly over time. It keeps building up until one day she weights almost 300 pounds. She now sees herself as ugly and decides to stay at home more instead of meeting new people. So what happened here?

Due to her being hurt over and over again while growing up. The subconscious decided to protect her in the best way it can. It figured if she gained tons of weight no man would want her. So if no man wanted her, than how could she get HURT? So yes overeating may be bad for you, but it serves some type of positive purpose in the eyes of your subconscious.

The Unconscious Mind

The unconscious mind is the part of the mind that controls your body functions, such as breathing, immunity, heartbeat and so on. The functions we never pay attention too and just seem to run on their own. This part of the mind is the most mysterious to us, as we know very little about it.

The reason is because it does everything below our awareness. Have you ever wondered how you knew how to cry as a baby? Many professionals believe all the basic functions and instincts we have come from this part of the mind. Lots of people like to call the subconscious the unconscious mind, but I have found breaking up into three different parts make a lot more sense.

So these are the three different parts of our mind each with their own roles and functions. When combined they make up who you are and they are the reason you are who you are. If anything this article should show you how complex our brain/mind is and that fact that we have barely touched the surface. We are amazing beings and while knowing the different roles of the mind won’t give you power. It will give you an understanding of how you work and that knowledge is priceless in my opinion.

Have you ever wondered why some people are more successful than others? Have you ever what they are doing different from you.

What Makes People Successful?

When most people think of personal development we think about self help tapes, Tony Robbins, motivational speakers and so on. The reason is most of those things mentioned all have something to do with the field of personal development. We spend thousands of dollars and invest our time into changing our lives for the better. We go to these events and reads the books learning new techniques, new ways of thinking and taking notice of how we are feeling.

The personal development field is one of the biggest moneymakers in the world. Millions of tapes, books and speakers are providing their message. The truth is most of these people are successful and have followed certain blueprints that lead to them being successful. Other times the person is only successful because he is a really good con artist, but hey the con artist was smart enough to think of the idea in the first place.

Okay, back to this post. We go to these events and we get pumped up and ready for massive change. In other cases, we ready the books and listen to the tapes and reflect upon our lives while listening. Once we finish the course or program we know things are going to be different. We know our lives can never be the same. Then when we fast-forward a few months into the future and these same people are in the same place they were before or worst. Why?

Why spend the amount of time, energy and money for these products yet some people never even finish the tape set. Why? Why take the time and personal energy to take these courses? Do they work? Are they just hypnotizing us with a wonderful message? Maybe

Why would people spend so much money and time and then not change anything about their lives? These people have received great information, but how come most people never become successful or become rich? Is it because this information doesn’t work or is it because you got ripped off? One could say these things but I tend to think that isn’t the problem at all. Remember, knowledge and information isn’t power.

Someone once said Knowledge and information is nothing more then unorganized information. For some reason people tend to think all you have to do is gain some new information and success is bound. Well thinking positive may be better than thinking negative, but if you just sit on your butt and hope you may never see success. While learning new ideas and beliefs are the foundation for change, its just part of the puzzle.

What’s The Difference Between The Successful And The Ones Who Aren’t?

It’s really quite simple and its how I’ve done pretty well for myself. Its nothing more than two simple words, “Taking Action”. This step here is the key to everything you want in life. My job isn’t to make promises to you that you’ll be rich or successful. Heck, you may never be, but how do you know unless you take action toward whatever it is you want. Will you make mistakes? Sure you will, will you fall on your face? Sure you will, but you will be moving in the right direction, which puts you beyond the other people who are just sitting around wishing something to happen.

I know some of you are like I already know that, well if you do than how come you’re not where you want to be? Gaining information is just the first step, the second step is to act upon this information and take action. You must take action every single day to reach your goals. Write a to do list, get organized, do something that causes you to take action. Some people tend to think you must make massive amounts of action and that’s not the case. Just a little step each day in the right direction and you will get there. Some people tend to take action for a few days and then stop when life starts to get hard. The real winners are the ones who take small steps in the right direction with each step getting you closure and closure.

Some people who want to get in better shape try to make it a habit to get on the treadmill everyday for 30 min when they never stepped on one in their life. So instead of doing 30 min every day, why not just get on for 5 to 10 min and get your body and mind used to the idea. Think about this, now you are at a pool on a hot day and you walk over to the water and start to walk into the water. The water is very cool so you jump out of the water. You than slowly start to put a foot in the water. You than let the foot get used to the feeling, than you place more of your leg in the water. Eventually your body gets into the water and you feel great because you are cooling off on a hot day. So what happened here? You took baby steps that led you to the outcome you wanted which was going for a swim.

Taking little steps or little actions that lead to bigger outcomes has always been part of your life, if you think about it, you we’re once a baby and had to learn to walk. You took tons of little steps, fell along the way, but you learned to walk, didn’t you now? In reality, nothing can get done without taking action. It all starts with an idea, but without action an idea is nothing more then just an idea.

So gather information, know what you want, define an outcome and just take action. Jamie Smart, who is a great hypnotist and NLP Instructor, said something once that really stood out with me. I may misquote him a little, but the point will get across. He asked someone once ‘if you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you want from life? If you knew that you would never fail, what would you do with your life?

This really made me think and brought me to the conclusion that we as humans are so worried about failing that we never take action. Here is how the mind works on this subject. The mind tends to make whatever you think about the most your reality. So if you are always thinking in terms of ‘what if I fail?’ than how can you ever succeed. When I work with companies to help their employee’s increase motivation for sales or whatever it may be I always bring up this point.

In your everyday life you fail a couple of times a day, weather its a mistake or something you forgot to do. Something always goes wrong. So if this is true, which it is true, isn’t it? Than why continue to live life? Think about this now, because as you do you will start to look within yourself to times where you failed in your normal everyday life, but kept on going.

Keep Moving Forward

So lets come back from that place and move forward a little bit. If you know things can go wrong and you keep on going than how come you are so worried about making mistakes or failing when it comes to taking action toward your dreams? The only difference is within your mind. There is no difference between taking action toward your personal goals and living life, but when you know what you want from life, when you have a clear outcome. You are no longer living just to live. You are now living for a purpose!

Once again the road to success doesn’t mean life will be perfect. Most of the successful people in the world always go through more rough times than good. It’s as if they have to go through the fire so they may come out stronger later. A friend once asked me ‘How can I get down the road to where I want to be’ I answered him back with ‘ how can you get down the road if you don’t leave the house’.

Personally it is the people who move toward what they want and take action that are the ones who can say this self-improvement tape worked for me or Tony Robbins changed my life or whatever it may be. Information is everywhere, but it’s up to as to WANT TO make that CHANGE. We are so quick to blame others for when we fail, but we never look in the mirror.

So TAKE MASSIVE ACTION and move toward change. It’s hard if you THINK it’s hard, but it’s really easy. You just get up, grab a sheet a paper and take about 15 to 20 min to define what you want in life. Than once you have an outcome, start figuring out what you need to do to reach it and than just start taking little steps everyday that lead you to it.

Remember, things will pop up that will distract you. That’s fine, handle them and get back to your dreams. It is the small steps you take over time that lead to big results. Once again there your dreams, so don’t you deserve them NOW?

Have you ever wondered why your client didn't get the results they wanted when they came to you to quit smoking? Were you 100 percent sure you did everything right. Well, sometimes it's not about the technique, but the reason. Did your client want to quit smoking for themselves or just to make the wife happy? This article will detail what the real reason is needed to quit smoking and some other tips and techniques...

The Real Reason Needed to Quit Smoking

I had a couple of sessions the other day for smoking and some stuff that came up during them that gave me an idea for a post. When I work with people for smoking I have certain steps that I like to follow. Before I even work with a client I like to just talk to them for a while. Similar to a pre-talk, but it is designed to educate the person about the habit they are trying to quit. I like to think that most of the stuff I talk about is important, but there is one part of the talk that is the most important. This is the real reason for becoming a non-smoker. Everyone has different motivations and reasons for quitting.

I have heard all types of reasons such as better health, getting a doctor off of their backs, for the children, save money and the list goes on and on. All of these are important and valid reasons for becoming a non-smoker now, but if you think about it, none of these reasons will help you to quit smoking in my opinion.

It’s true that hypnosis works great for helping people to quit smoking. Is it 100 percent successful in helping people to quit smoking? I would love to tell you yes, but than I would be lying. Yet, clinical studies are now starting to pop up claiming that hypnosis is one of the best methods to become a non-smoker. Even though hypnosis is stepping out into the forefront there has yet to be a method of quitting that is 100 percent successful.

All Hypnosis Isn’t The Same

There are tons of hypnotists out there and everyone one of them has a different method of using hypnosis to help people quit smoking. Every hypnotist has different views on this subject and most of them are successful. So how can all these different methods be to some degree, successful? Well, its because at its purest form hypnosis has the ability to alter habits. Many clinical studies have backed up this statement. Hypnosis allows people to alter their perception or in other words, reprogram their organic computer to view the habit differently or eliminate it all together.

So even though different methods are used success can still be reached because of this one common factor, yet is there a way to make what you do even more powerful? Is there something you can do to increase your overall session with clients? There is and it’s the real reason needed to quit smoking or at least the real issue that is at the base of the problem in my opinion. You can always disagree with me, but it’s so easy to just go with me and learn now.

You Must Take Back Control

In my own opinion and experience there is only one real reason that will get the majority of your clients to stop smoking for good and increase your clients success. The reason is a simple one and one most smokers never even thing about. Your client must be able to pick up a smoke stick, look at it and say to it ‘they want to take back control of your life and that it will never control them again‘. I am dead serious here people. You have to get down to the truth of the matter and the truth is that this little leaf wrapped in paper has been controlling your life. You have been nothing more than a slave to it and the people who produce it.

Most of the time when I tell people this they just laugh and say that’s funny. I don’t laugh and tell them I’m not kidding, I’m serious as a heart attack. If you find being a slave funny than I don’t think we should work together. If you really think about it, than why don’t you just stop smoking? If it isn’t controlling you than just stop. Go ahead, prove me wrong right now and just stop smoking…. forever. Yes, a very small part of the population who can do this, but most people won’t be able to quit smoking in an instant.

I don’t want to hear excurses about the nicotine in your system and all that jive. Now, I’m not saying nicotine doesn’t play some part and that it isn’t bad for you. Yet, clinical studies have shown that this nasty stuff leaves your body within just a couple of days. In fact, your entire body begins to get better just within a couple days. So if this is the case, just stop, smoking, now. So lets get honest with people this little leaf is controlling your life and this the only real reason that will help you to truly kick the habit in my opinion. All of the other reasons are great and provide benefits, but the real issue is you are being controlled. Once you realize this it can give you more personal power than you know.

Now, have other people quit smoking for different reasons? I’m pretty sure they have, but what is the ratio of people who have quit for a period of 3 to 5 years and a person who starts up again within a couple of months. Have you ever wondered why some of your clients seem to take up the habit again when you know you did everything you could? I know I have and I’m sure some of you out there have as well.

See this is the one thing that I find interesting about hypnosis. Hypnosis works in conjunction with many different factors and we are working with a person on a personal level. Each and every person in this world is built different. Each and every person has his or her own motivations and beliefs. Yet, in my experience and the experiences of many other hypnotists who are very successful dealing with Smoking Cessation this is the real issue that needs to be addressed………..Control.

I believe so strongly in this that I will turn down anyone who can’t come to terms with this concept. I will tell them to come back when they are ready or see someone else. The client must be ready for the change, they must have the motivation, and they must want to quit for themselves and nothing else. They must want to take back control of their lives, NOW!!!!! I truly wish I had some magical power with hypnosis because than I could change millions of people’s lives with just a few suggestions, but I don’t have any special power.

Here’s An Example For You

Let me give you an example of why you must screen and talk to the client about this situation. I asked a person once I was working with to close their eyes and imagine if the doctor wasn’t on his back, which is very common and if he wasn’t having health problems would he give up the habit. The answer was a very quick, No. So I sent him away and told him when he was ready to come back and see me. I told him I didn’t want to steal his money because that’s what I would be doing if I worked with him.

This guy wasn’t ready to quit. If I would have worked with him we may have ended up with another person who claimed ‘Hypnosis didn’t work for me’. He was just tired of having people on his case. This guy was even sent to me by his doctor, but all he really wanted was a way out, not to become a non-smoker. In the beginning I worked with everyone and I never had any idea of the concept I’m talking about. I just figured if they came to see they must be ready to quit. Let’s just say I didn’t have the best success rate with my clients at the time.

I worked with a total of 7 people during this time frame and out of the 7 people 2 people haven’t smoked in a little over 2 years. The rest of them continued smoking after a period of 3 months. So as you see I didn’t consider that to be good numbers in my opinion. Yes, I helped two people, but what about the rest. I got into this profession to help people and that is what I want to do. Will I ever be able to help every single person to become a non-smoker? No, I won’t be able to help every single person, but I want to help the majority of the people I work with.

Since I have learned the concept I’m talking about my numbers have improved by leaps and bounds. I have seen a total of 22 people for smoking since the results above. 21 of the people have been smoke free for at least a year or more now. 1 of them was smoke free for about 5 months and started to smoke again. So as you see the numbers are much better, but why didn’t the other one quit?

If They Don’t WANT to quit you can’t make them

The simple reason is because he wasn’t ready to quit. Here is the reason I know. I stayed in touch with him and discovered that he lied to me. He believed he could quit no matter the reason and didn’t want to wait. I’m a hypnotist, not a lie detector and I have to say that person was a great actor. So, as you see the numbers speak for themselves. Now in some of these cases I did see these people for a second session. Typically if the person has smoked for more than 25 or 30 years I will set up a second session.

When a person has smoked this long the habit has had many years to become seriously planted deep in the person. It can be eliminated using direct suggestion, but in these cases I like to use other techniques that are more powerful. I also like to give clients some tools to help with the management of stress. One of the biggest reasons people start smoking again is because they get stressed out.

They don’t know how to deal with the stress in an effective manner and so the mind looks for a familiar way of dealing with stress. Remember, the mind never forgets anything. It knows you we’re once a smoker, but at the end of your day if you have been smoke free for over 2 years or more and you start smoking again it was your choice. Nobody put a gun to your head and made you do it. This, in my opinion is free will and not the fault of the hypnotist, in some cases. Now that is a different post all together.

What it really comes down to is the desire to change. A person has to have the motivation and desire to change. If you get the desire to change, motivation, expectation and the real reason needed to quit smoking you are going to see a huge jump in your client’s success rates. Yes, the reason is they need to take back control of their life, but the foundation of the habit still has to be the desire for chance, for themselves and no one else.

Hypnosis isn’t mind control and I can’t make you quit. All I do is help you to realize the potential within yourself. The techniques I use are pretty much the same for everyone else. The thing that makes the difference is your motivation and desire to change. All change starts with ‘YOU’ I’m not here to put down any hypnotists or the method they use. If you are getting great results than keep doing what you are doing. Shoot, let me know so I can find a way to incorporate it into my sessions. I’m just addresses what has worked for me.

For those of you wondering I didn’t come up with this concept. I learned it from someone else and just adapted it to work for me. A great Hypnotist by the name of Gerald Kein of The Omni Hypnosis Center is where I learned these concepts. He has a DVD program, which is all about dealing with Smoking Cessation, and it is great.

I highly recommend it if you wish to become a better Hypnotist and he goes over a whole lot more than I could cover here. I have to run, but I hope this article can give you some ideas or help you in some way.

Teenage Hypnotist Nathan Thomas and I get together for a really informative and detailed interview about Conversational Hypnosis also known as Covert Hypnosis. A lot of people have asked me about this subject so I thought it would be nice to learn from someone who is considered an expert in that field. Just because Nathan is a teenager don't let that fool you. He has been trained by some of the best in the field of Conversational Hypnosis...

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I am trying to shed some light on other forms of hypnosis and think of new ways to bring information to you. As some of you know I have a lot of friends in the hypnosis world and I asked a good friend of mine named Nathan Thomas to talk about something called Conversational Hypnosis, which is another method of Hypnosis I’m currently studying.

Imagine Being Able To Hypnotize Someone Just By Talking To Them – Seriously!

Nathan was just going to write a blog post for everyone, but together we decided a Interview may be a lot of fun and good way to get the information across. So I’m happy to present the first of many interviews to come in the future. Please understand that this is my first interview and it was done late at night. My voice may sound a little funny to everyone due to lack of water and to be honest a little nerves. I always get a little nervous when I do new things, but Nathan delievered tons of great information so it’s worth a listen.

For those of you who don’t know Nathan Thomas is a 16 year old Hypnotist who is quite popular on Youtube and runs a great hypnosis blog called Keys To The Mind. His site contains interviews, product reviews, articles and access to a great hypnosis message group, which I’m a part of as well as many other great hypnotists. So I hope you all enjoy the interview and be easy on me, it’s my first and done at the spur of the moment. All links mentioned in the interview will be at the bottom of this post.

Can Hypnosis Benefit People with Dementia?

I was messing around on the Internet the other day and ran across a great article, which I thought some of my readers may find interesting.

Recently a new study has been released by Dr. Simon Duff of the University of Liverpool that shows patients who use hypnosis as part of their treatment for Dementia show a improvement along with lower decline rates.

The patients who didn’t use hypnosis and underwent more conventional therapies over the same period of time showed definite decline. The entire article can be located HERE for your reading pleasure. This is just one more example of how hypnosis can benefit people.

One of the biggest fears the general public have about hypnosis is the myth that you will reveal all your deep, dark secrets to the Hypnotist. We have seen stage hypnotists and TV shows that have fed us this belief, but is it true?

Can Hypnosis Make Me Reveal My Secrets?

I was talking with my wife the other day, yes I am married for those who didn’t know. She told me she was talking to a few friends and somehow hypnosis came into the conversation. One of her friends asked her a question thinking she would know the answer since she was married to a hypnotist. My wife only knows a little bit about the subject so she wasn’t able to answer her friends question. So she brought the question to me, which I thought deserved to be answered here for everyone.

Everyone Lies

The question was “can hypnosis make you reveal your secrets when you don’t want too?” This is actually a very common question and one that causes a lot of people to fear hypnosis when in reality the fear is misplaced. In our society today the simple truth of the matter is that we all lie. I’m not trying to say anyone is dishonest, but everyone lies to a degree. If we told the truth 100 percent of the time let’s just say we may have less friends or worst. For instance, how many people wish they could tell their boss how they “really” feel? Not many because if you did you may find yourself without a job.

The real truth is that most of us tell lies to protect the ones we are close too. Sometimes the lies are used to protect “us” from pain as well. We see television shows such as “Moment of Truth” and daytime talk shows that takes the lies that bind us and expose them to the world. So you can see why letting the so called cat out of the bag is a big fear for many people. So why is the fear aspect so important? Fear will keep a person from entering a nice level of hypnosis.

Will Hypnosis Make You Reveal Your Deepest Secrets?

So can hypnosis make you tell the truth? The answer is very simple and may surprise you. The answer is a simple NO. Hypnosis can’t make you tell the truth if you don’t want to. A person can easily lie under hypnosis if they want too. You can actually lie better under hypnosis if you wanted too.

Remember hypnosis isn’t mind control and we can’t force someone to tell the truth if they don’t want too. Many married woman contact me asking if I can hypnotize their husband to find out if they have cheated. I have to always turn them down and typically refer them to someone who is trained to help couples deal with these type of issues.

Hypnosis can help people with trust issues, but I believe some type of counseling or therapy from a licensed professional combined with hypnosis would be the best bet in the long term. I hate to let some people down who thought hypnosis was some type of magic, but it isn’t. Now, are their other ways to tell if a person is lying, of course. Most of us have heard of lie detectors and yes some people can read certain cues people give off without themselves knowing it, but that isn’t a exact science. Honestly, neither is a lie detector test. Yes, a lie detector can be deceived when a person is trained correctly.

Hypnosis Is Safe And Your Secrets Are Too

The reality of the situation is that Hypnosis will not make a person tell their deepest secrets or reveal information to their spouse they want to hide or for whatever reason. So if you have a fear of hypnosis because you fear telling the truth you can push that fear aside and go into a hypnosis session with full confidence that your secrets will be save.

As long as Hypnosis has been around it has always been connected to sleep. When you hypnotize someone they appear to enter a deep relaxing sleep, but could our eyes be deceiving us? Is Hypnosis really some mystic form of sleep or is it just some myth that has been passed down through the ages because of simple misunderstanding. This article will help you to discover the truth once and for all.

Hypnosis Isn’t Sleep

The word sleep is one of the biggest reason people tend to think hypnosis is sleep. The fact of the matter is Hypnosis isn’t sleep at all. When you enter Hypnosis you are actually more “awake” then you are now. You actually become more alert and aware, but because you’re in a very relaxed state it appears from a outside point of view that you are asleep.

The word “sleep” is nothing more then a shortcut for the client and the Hypnotist. When we say the word sleep its means to “close your eyes and relax as if you are going to sleep”. You see, since birth we have all been programmed to know what sleep means. Sleep is a basic function of our bodies and we don’t have to be trained to go to sleep. There isn’t a human alive who hasn’t slept or knows what the word sleep means. The truth is that we all pass through the stages of hypnosis right before we fall asleep and right before we wake up in the morning.

If we break it down to different brain waves then Hypnosis would be Theta, which is the state right before Delta, which is natural sleep. This is a normal process for us so it’s not unusual that the sub conscious mind understands the shortcut of the word sleep. Another thing to note is most people have seen a Hypnotist in person or on television say the word sleep and seen how the person responded to the suggestion. Please remember as well that the sub conscious protects you in a sense by not falling completely asleep. Just imagine the dangers that could be introduced to you if you were to fall asleep wherever you got hypnotized.

Relaxation Isn’t Sleep and It Isn’t Hypnosis

So combine all of these different elements and when your client hears the word sleep they close their eyes and appears to have fallen asleep. When in reality they are just in a really relaxed state. Now please don’t confuse relaxation as hypnosis because they are not the same. Relaxation isn’t even a part of hypnosis. The word sleep and the suggestions we give during and after the induction help to establish a great state of relaxation. Another reason we know the person isn’t asleep is because they hear and respond to our suggestions. Beside sleep other words can also be used to trigger the hypnotic state. As a matter of fact words aren’t even needed to establish Hypnosis.

Yet, overtime is has become sort of a standard in our profession to say the word sleep during the induction. As a little side note most of the time when you hear a hypnotist use the word sleep it’s usually related to stage Hypnotists, instant and rapid inductions. It has now become common for many Hypnotists to use these Instant and Rapid Inductions within their practices. Check out this article to know more about this issue.

So whenever you see a hypnotist or hear a hypnotist say the word sleep its nothing more then a shortcut for “Close your eyes and relax as if you are asleep”. I hope you found this article interesting and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool for Pain Management and has been for many years. I was surfing the internet the other week and ran across this interesting article on how Dentist are using Hypnosis to aid them in their practice.

Dentist Using Hypnosis

I received a great e-mail from my good friend Rich Wilson who is also a really great certified Hypnotist. The e-mail contained a link to a great article dealing with how hypnosis can be used for tooth removal and other things involved with seeing the Dentist.

Hypnotists have known for a long time that hypnosis can be used to deal with pain. Hypnosis allows the body to produce it’s own Anesthesia. Hypnosis can offer help in many different areas such as controlling the amount of saliva, blood flow, pain control and general relaxation which helps to ease the visit to the dentist.

Articles like the one I’m planning to link to here are great because they get the word out about the different benefits of hypnosis. I highly recommend that people still consult with their Dentist on this matter.

While hypnosis does work well for this field its always good to still consult with your Dentist. I also recommend that if your Dentist and you agree to this type of procedure that you seek out a trained and knowledgeable hypnotist who has some experience in this field.

This may hurt a little: Hypnotized patient has two teeth removed without anesthetic

I get questions from new Hypnotists all the time. The most asked question I get is "I tried to hypnotize someone and it just didn't work. Do you have any advice for me?" The biggest key to success when hypnotizing someone comes down to one thing, The Pre-Talk. The Pre-Talk is the key to success and when done correctly you will see your success rate hypnotizing people go through the roof...

The Pre-Talk Is Key To Your Success?

When I first got started in hypnosis I went around to everyone I knew asking to hypnotize them. Most of the people said no, but a few of them agreed to “try” hypnosis. These people knew nothing about hypnosis, but being a confidence newcomer I didn’t feel I had to educate them on the subject. I figured all I had to do was copy some Youtube video’s I’ve seen.

I knew I could hypnotize someone if I just followed the videos I had watched. Looking back on this situation I think I may have been to confidence in myself, which can blow up in your face sometimes. I walked up to the guy, told him to press on my hand, close his eyes and the moment he started to apply pressure to my hand I yelled “sleep” in a deep voice.

As I yelled sleep I knew I was going to be successful. I glanced up to see what a person in hypnosis looks like in real life and got a surprise. His eyes were wide open; he looked at me and said did it work? My hurt ego took a moment and answered “no, it didn’t work and I’m not sure why”.

Banging My Head Against A Hypnotic Wall

I spent a week studying the videos and had followed what I had seen the hypnotist do on the video. I had no idea what was wrong and was about to chalk it up to he was one of the few people who couldn’t be hypnotized. Wow, I had a really big ego back then and I had some nerve assuming this was the case when this was my first attempt at hypnotizing someone. Due to a lack of financial means I couldn’t afford formal training.

My education came from all the free e-books floating around and many of the Youtube videos. I assumed that hypnosis was just as easy as yelling sleep and that’s not the case. There was more going on behind the scene then I realized.

It wasn’t until I ran across a certain video that a friend let me borrow from Hypnosis Training Gerald Kein that changed my future and gave me the tools for success. The hypnotist in the video mentioned how important it is to discuss hypnosis with the person before attempting to hypnotize them. The hypnotist on the tape made a statement that put it all into place for me.

A person will only enter hypnosis based upon the fear they have of the subject. I had been trying to enter a locked door without the key to open it, now I had the key needed to succeed. The key to having a person enter hypnosis is called the Pre-Talk.

The Power Of A Good Hypnosis Pre-Talk

So the next question is what is a pre-talk? A pre-talk can either be a long or brief talk about what hypnosis is and addressing any fears the person may have about hypnosis. You basically address some of the rumors and myths about hypnosis and explain the truth to the person. You let them know they are not asleep during hypnosis, they can hear you speaking to them in hypnosis. Let them know they are in control and will never do anything against their moral or ethics.

You want them to feel comfortable with hypnosis and give them the real facts. Society has programmed the general public to think hypnosis is something it isn’t. People think we perform some type of black magic or we control their minds. So you must become the expert and explain the truth to them.

It makes a lot of sense and looking back at the lesson I learned and I can’t believe I never thought of it before. Think about this for a moment. Would you sky dive off of a plane if you were afraid of heights? You might really want to experience it, but due to your fear you just can’t make that jump. Have you ever wanted to do anything in your life, but some fear held you back? If so, then you may have an idea about what might be going through the head of the person you are about to hypnotize. They don’t know what to expect and may be afraid even if they don’t tell you so.

What’s Next In The Hypnosis Pre-talk?

The next part of the pre-talk to be honest is simple and is used more when using rapid or instant induction techniques. You must build up the person’s expectations of what to expect. You basically what to tell them that if they do exactly as you say nothing more and nothing less they will enter a wonderful relaxed, deep state of hypnosis and they will feel great. You want them to associate something good to the experience.

Let them know how good it’s going to feel or how relaxed they are going to be when they enter hypnosis. Once you build this up all you have to do is one more thing. You must ask permission to hypnotize the person.

I usually use something called the hypnotic contract. I basically will tell the person that if they do exactly as I say nothing more and nothing less they will enter a wonderful state of hypnosis. If you do this for me I will make sure you are taking care of and no harm will come to you. If this is acceptable to you, are you ready to go into hypnosis? As you see I compounded the statement with repeating it twice and the final step is added right onto the end of the contract.

This makes the person feel you respect them by asking them formal permission. It also gives the person permission for them to enter hypnosis since all hypnosis is just self hypnosis. Once you have all of this in place all you have to do is perform your instant or rapid induction and watch the person enter hypnosis quickly and easily.

You Must Develop Confidence In Yourself and Hypnosis

A little tip to remember is to make sure you deliver your pre-talk with confidence. Confidence is a huge part of successful hypnosis. You will also find as you get better and better you will be able to get this pre-talk down within a few min. For many beginners, learning how to be confident can be one of the hardest things to overcome. As my friend Nathan Thomas says in his Confident Hypnotist program “Confidence begins in the mind”. All this means is that Confidence is a state of mind and the more you think you are confidence the more you’ll become.

The pre-talk is the most important part of what we do as hypnotists. The pre-talk allows us to educate people and make the client or person feel comfortable enough to enter hypnosis and feel comfortable with us. I recommend any beginner who is serious about the field of hypnotism to study hypnosis and learn the truth behind the rumors. This will help you in developing your own pre-talk. In the end just remember to eliminate fears, build up the clients expectations and get permission.

I hope this post helped you to understand the importance of The Pre-Talk. If you want more information on how to deliver a really great pre-talk then I recommend you check out Cal Banyan’s Pre-Talk DVD. I personally use this DVD with all my clients as it explains Hypnosis in an easy to understand manner. Highly recommended if you want to know more about the Pre-Talk.

I’ve Never Been Hypnotized Before..Have I?

As a hypnotist one of the main questions I always ask people is have you been hypnotized before? The majority of people usually answer this question with a simple “no”. Once in a while I will meet someone who says they have been hypnotized, but that’s pretty rare here in Columbus. So let’s discuss this on this Hypnosis Blog.

When I hear someone say they haven’t been hypnotized before I think to myself this is great! I have a chance to educate someone on hypnosis and maybe, just maybe change the way someone views this wonderful profession. To me it’s the law of compounding. One person tells one person and another person tells two people and so on.

The fact is that most of the people on this planet have been hypnotized or been in hypnosis. Now you may be reading this saying I think I would know if I’ve been hypnotized before. I have never been to a hypnotist. My answer back to all of you saying that is if you have never been hypnotized before, then how do you know what hypnosis is?

What Is Hypnosis?

This answer usually has people scratching their heads a little and this is where I grab their attention. Many people think hypnosis is where a hypnotist yells “SLEEP”! On stage and they see a person drop into what the audience perceives as sleep. The fact of the matter is that what you have just seen is nothing more then a ritual some hypnotists perform to demonstrate to the public a physical or mental change that has happened. This is what we call an induction.

We can actually see a person go from being alert to a relaxed state in a matter of seconds. They are not asleep, just in a very focused, relaxed and heighten state. This ritual helps to convince people that something has just taken place. Still what the hypnotist just did isn’t hypnosis, it’s nothing more then an induction, which leads to hypnosis. Hypnosis is the state that the person is in after the induction is performed.

So now that a person is in hypnosis, what does it feel like? The only way to tell if you have been in hypnosis is to have something to compare it too, especially if you don’t know anything about how hypnosis feels. Understand that hypnosis isn’t magic or some special powers we process. Hypnosis is a natural process. Yes, you heard me correctly hypnosis is a natural process.

Hypnosis is Within Our DNA?

The majority of humans excluding a few certain situations are born with the ability to enter hypnosis. All hypnosis is Self Hypnosis. Plus, most of us stay in a continuing state of hypnosis until we are about 4,5,6 or 7 depending on the mature rate of the child. All I do as a hypnotist is help to facilitate the process for you. Think of it as lacing up your shoes. We all have the ability to do this, but until someone teaches us we can tie our shoes we just don’t know how too. In other words most of us enter into certain forms of hypnosis unconsciously, but we are born with the ability to bring hypnosis on consciously.

In a second I’m going to write a list here and if you have ever done one of them then you have been in hypnosis. Some of you may not believe me, but you don’t have too. That’s the great thing about being human we have a choice. Still, you would seek out the knowledge of a medical doctor when sick because they are trained in their field. You have recognized that they have some knowledge you don’t about your illness. Think of a hypnotist in the same degree. We are trained in the art of hypnotism, thus we have some knowledge about this field you don’t. So just keep this in mind when reading the list below.

Have You Been Hypnotized Before?

Have you ever been driving on the highway and “zoned out”, then the next moment you notice you have come to your exit or destination? If so, then you have just experienced a form of hypnosis.

Have you ever been to see a movie? As your watching the movie you are in a state of hypnosis.

Have you ever cried during a movie? If so, then you have been in hypnosis

Have you ever been watching a TV show or Sports game and you don’t hear someone calling your name because you’re so involved in the show or game? If so, then you have been in hypnosis.

Have you ever been involved in a real good book? If so, then you have been in hypnosis?

Have you ever been to a church? The moment you step into a church you are in hypnosis. Most churches don’t realize they are even using hypnosis, but they are.

Have you ever been at school or at work and started daydreaming? If so, you have been in hypnosis.

Have you ever gotten so mad at someone that you started to yell at them and said things you wish you hadn’t? If so, then you have been in hypnosis.

Have you ever been in love? If so, then you have been in hypnosis.

If you have experienced any of the above items, then you have been in hypnosis. Hypnosis is nothing more then when your judgmental mind steps aside. The moment you suspend judgment you have hypnosis. We call this the suspension of the Critical Factor. The Critical Factor is the part of your mind that determines weather new suggestions are accepted or rejected. As long as the critical factor is active, it will reject any suggestion that doesn’t match with your current believe system.

Hypnosis is all around you and now you have the ability to spot it. Marketing executives use it all the time when designing TV ads. They know exactly how to bypass this critical factor using sounds, words and images.

I know some of you are looking at this list and saying, but I wasn’t asleep! Once again hypnosis isn’t sleep. While in hypnosis you can hear everything going on. You can come out of it at any time. You can be in hypnosis with eyes open. You will not do anything against your morals or ethics. Hypnosis is just a state of mind we all enter through the day. It is normal and it’s completely safe.

In Conclusion

So take some time and think about this before you judge something you know nothing about. Hypnosis can be a wonderful tool to create some fantastic changes in your life. If you like to learn more, check out this site and you will find some great resources to help you out.

P.S.

Recently I’ve been watching Jeffrey Stephens Hypnosis Video Program and I have to say it’s one of the most interested training programs I’ve watched lately. On one of his videos he talks about how hypnosis isn’t something we do, but something we all experience. It’s an interesting statement that got me thinking about hypnosis.

His view is that Hypnosis is the natural state and Hypnotist just know how to utilize that state. If that is the case then everyone has been hypnotized before before hypnosis is the state we’re always in. I don’t know, just a strange random thought I just had. Maybe I’ll do a post on this thought later.

Have you ever wondered why you didn't get the success you thought you should with you client? Did you feel you did everything by the book and yet the results just weren't there? I think at some point in time all Hypnotists go through this stage. We did everything we were taught to do, but nothing seems to be working.

Usually we look toward the techniques were using or the script, but in reality these two things don't have much impact on a session. You should really look more at the words your using and how they are spoken because as Hypnotists our voice and our words are our main tools. Hypnosis isn't just about hypnotizing people it's about relating to people and your words have more impact then you know.

This article will share with you some of the words you may be using which may be resulting in your session not going as planned...

Words You Should Never Use During A Hypnosis Session

Things have come long way since the first person was ever hypnotized. We have learned so much more about hypnosis, patterns and the way our words affect suggestion and the way they affect the client.

This is the year 2009 and many of us are still using words that are causing hypnotists to shoot themselves in the foot. As we all know the media has really given hypnosis a bad rep over the years. While their are some good reports out there, certain movies and books have convinced people that what we do is magic or something from the occult.

The average person tends to think we have “super powers” or some type of control over people. So it’s important that we stop using certain words that give people the wrong idea about what we do. I also promise that if you start to change the words you use you’ll notice a strong difference in the way your sessions go.

Once again this is just my opinion and you are free to use whatever language you like, but how do you know what the results will be unless you attempt the change. All I am doing here is offering you an alternative. I want to give you something to think about before I list some of the words. Have you ever had a session that “you” thought went really well? Only to find out that a few sessions later your client has actually got worse or not improved at all.

How Can Words Hurt My Success Rate?

Yes, it’s possible the client rejected your suggestions, but could it also be the client was confused or didn’t understand something properly. This could cause the client to believe they we’re doing something wrong or that they we’re not in hypnosis. For instance, during the pre-talk you let the client know you are not asleep during hypnosis. Well as the hypnosis session concludes you tell the client when you count to 5; you will open your eyes and wake up.

The problem is you told the client they weren’t asleep during hypnosis, yet you told them to wake up. So the client goes home and as they are driving they start thinking to themselves. I must have done something wrong since he told me to wake up when I wasn’t asleep. Maybe I should have gone to asleep. It is at this moment that all your work has been undone.

I’m not saying this will happen with all clients and to be honest most of them may never even think about it, but why take the chance. I do recommend that if you do continue to use the wake up that you explain to the client ahead of time why you say wake up. This way once the sessions ends and emerges from hypnosis.

They will already know that they did what they we’re suppose too. The idea for this post isn’t mine alone and I didn’t even come up with the concept. I actually heard Gerald Kein talk about this subject before. I totally agree with his point of view. So I would like to give Mr. Kein credit for giving me the motivation to write this short article.

Words To Avoid

Deep Sleep: When I say the word “sleep” I don’t mean the word we use to induce hypnosis. Many hypnotists will tell a client they will go into a deep sleep and this can cause problems. The problem is that hypnosis isn’t sleep and we don’t want the client to think hypnosis is sleep. I also recommend that you always explain to your client before hand that when we use the word sleep in our inductions we don’t mean actually sleep. Explain to them you mean a state of relaxation that is similar to sleep. Le them know the sub conscious mind understands this suggestion and it seems to work well with it.

Awake or Wake up: This can cause all the work you do as a hypnotist to be worthless at the end of the session. The reason is that you are not asleep so how can you wake up. A person knows they are not asleep during because they will be able to hear you during the session. So when the person comes out he is going to start thinking it didn’t work because he told me to wake up when I wasn’t asleep, so I must have done something wrong. Instead of saying awake or wake up I recommend as do other Hypnotist to use the word “Emerge”. This word seems to work wonders and I promise your client won’t be wondering about it later. If you do like to use the word wake up, then at least explain the reason we say, “wake up” before the actual session begins.

Under: When you tell someone you are going under it can be perceived as talking down to someone. You are “under” my control is a phase which most of our population has heard. Think about it for a min you are telling a person they are going under. So you may want to just let the person know you are going into hypnosis, or allow yourself to go into a nice state of hypnosis or even a nice state of relaxation.

Command: When you tell people you are giving them a command they tend to think you are forcing them or being bossy. A command means you are in charge of them and they know you are not. I have found with a few clients the word command can work, but most clients will have an issue with this word on the Sub. Conscious level. I suggest using the word “suggestion” instead.

Subject: When you call someone a subject it gives the impression they are beneath you or under your control in someway. Think about this for a moment. How would you feel if someone kept addressing you by this term. Subject can also imply you are running test or trying something out on somebody and for someone who may be new to the experience of hypnosis this is not the type of thoughts you want running around in there head.

Well these are just a few words or phases, which can possibly hinder a session or the level of hypnosis a person can enter. I learned this from Gerald Kein and put these changes into my practice and noticed an amazing change in the depth of my clients and the overall success of the sessions.

While these words have been used long before I was born and hypnotist have been successful with them I believe in moving forward instead of backward. I believe that to be taken as a serious professional by others that must move forward and work hard to erase the negative stereotypes within our profession.
